Hana I know what you mean - my diet recently has consisted of whatever I can face, mostly chips! I figure DD survived last time and was fine so should be ok.
I’m majorly struggling with long days at work, last night I was so exhausted I slept all evening and felt too sick to eat my dinner. Thank goodness for DH or there wouldn’t be any cooking happening at all.
I’m 11w today so hoping it passes soon. Still waiting for my scan date!

Gem173 · 17/01/2018 07:15

Hey ladies, congrats to those doing slimming world. I’ve always been an eater and my weight fluctuates between 8 stone to 10 stone 7lbs. I’ve always been an unhealthy eater picking junk food over veg but I do a lot of walking/running at work so I guess it pays off slightly. Since becoming pregnancy I have eaten more veg (albeit hating it) in 8 weeks than I have in 20 years! I’m not too bothered about my weight, atm I’m 10st 7, and doctor said I’m in the “normal” bmi range. I’m sure I will worry once I give birth and realise how much weight I may have to lose to get back in between 8-10stone.

I have started not eating my tea. I eat breakfast, break and lunch but when I get home (to oh disappointment because he cooks our food) I just don’t fancy tea. Oh done pizza and chips yesterday like a cheat day as I’ve been eating healthy all week, and I just couldn’t stomach the pizza, let alone touch my chips.
Still no sickness, but there’s still time.
Teased a work colleague yesterday that I want 3 kids by the time I’m 30 and that I’m sure il pop one out by September. He laughed and said your a bit late for that, but it would be a miracle!

Hope work isn’t too hard for you ladies today x

Peoniesandcats · 17/01/2018 08:00

On the weekend I got some innocent smoothies to help with the veg intake as chips and beige have also been my go to food Smile

11 weeks today and 6 days until my scan. Eek!

milney25 · 17/01/2018 08:31

It's so inspiring to read about everyone's weight loss journeys! I'm definitely going to give slimming world a go afterwards, my BMI is in the average range for my height - I am 5ft 11 though.

I weighed myself this morning and boy, I need to be careful! I have moved the scales to an easier to access place! I think that I've been comfort eating away my anxiety. Two days until my scan and then hopefully, touch wood, I'll be able to relax a little more and focus on me!

I spent an hour last last googling b bumps 😂 I don't know what's happened to me!!!

Babydreaming · 17/01/2018 08:34

I’ve been eating tons of ice lollies! I know that’s crazy in January but I’ve been craving the icey crunch so bad. I get the juice ones so they actually count as 1 of your 5 a day apparently! I’m making sure I’m getting my 5 a day but I’m also eating lots of crisps and junk! I made chocolate cake at the weekend and it’s almost finished already ! Whoops.

I’ve heard craving ice is a sign of anaemia though so will be interested to see my blood results!

Mymo · 17/01/2018 09:05

I thought I was the only nuts one scoffing ice pops in January! Interesting about the anaemia, I'm very, very pale at the moment and having nosebleeds every time I throw up. I look like Carrie!! So I wonder if they're linked. I'll find out when I get bloods done next week I guess!

Babydreaming · 17/01/2018 09:26

@mymo women are prone to being a bit anaemic in pregnancy because your blood volume expands so it’s all diluted, it’s somewhat normal but they do start you on iron if it gets below a certain level!

Hey all. Hope you've all been keeping well. All good here, still no nausea, but I'm completely wiped by 7pm every evening.

The weight thing - yikes. I was bang on average for my first pregnancy, didn't really show until 20 weeks. I have a kind of photo diary of my bump from 16 weeks. Some of the early photos are hilarious - I really thought I had a bump, and seriously, there is nothing there. I've struggled a bit with my weight since though - I lost all my baby weight and more in the first year, then it started creeping back on when I went back to work and breastfeeding reduced to one or two feeds a day but my appetite did not. My husband - the idiot - said to me last night as I got ready for bed: "oh, I can see your bump starting". Nope, just fat, but yeah, thanks. I'm actually dreading my booking visit weigh-in. I'm sure I'll be in the overweight category.

Have a NIPT test booked for Wednesday. A bit nervous about it.

YouCantBeSirius · 17/01/2018 09:41

I'm 12 weeks tomorrow by my dates and still no news of my scan. Waiting for the postman today and if no letter I'm chasing it up again. I've got a horrid cold and I'm really congested but limited with what I can take.

amzq87 · 17/01/2018 10:31

@Babydreaming and @Mymo - with you all the way on cold things!! Ice lollys and wanted ice cream too! My bloods were fine - in fact a slightly higher than average ferritin so don't automatically panic xx

YouCantBeSirius · 17/01/2018 10:47

Postman didn't bring scan letter so managed to find a phone number for the hospital scanning department and I'm booked in for my 12 week scan on Friday.

Hana327 · 17/01/2018 11:10

@YouCantBeSirius very exciting!
I'm 10 weeks+2 today and I think I'm starting to feel more like my own self. But then things can go drastically the other way so quickly. My scannis the 29th which I'm so excited about.
I too have a freezer full of ice lollies and ice cream in January! lol
Seem to just sleep through the morning until this sort of time! No idea how I'm going to get back to work!

amzq87 · 17/01/2018 11:25

@YouCantBeSirius yet for scan dates!! X

amzq87 · 17/01/2018 11:25

@YouCantBeSirius that was supposed to be Yey for scan dates hehe!

Gizzymum · 17/01/2018 12:43

I finally had my booking in appt today. I'm being classed as low risk but being referred to a consultant due to a mild prolapse I've still got from DS1 (who is almost 8mths old). Hopefully they'll be able to advise on what the likelihood is of it worsening with a "natural" birth. Also got the flu jab which was actually better than I remember it being last time. Also my BMI is higher than last time but it looks like I've yet to put weight on due to this pregnancy (phew).

Hortonlovesahoo · 17/01/2018 13:34

Hi all! This thread moves so quickly!! Sorry for being absent, I wasn't in the best place last week and I've just found out my best friend (who was predicted the same time as me had a miscarriage last week) .

Still no real update. It's more wait and see. The baby grew last week (now 15mm) but there's a massive blood clot still there and they don't know what's going to happen.

A question for you all. I've been given some anti nausea meds from the doctors but they've told me that i'm not allowed to drive with them (which means I cant take them as we're quite rural and I need my car). Anyone have any experience with "emesafene"?

k4rlyb · 17/01/2018 16:27

Hi all

Had my scan with EPU today everything is fine with baby. My EDD has been pushed back to 10th Aug, only 4 days later than first thought.

I have my 12 week scan booked for next week, will they still be able to do screening then?

SmashyCup · 17/01/2018 16:44

Still feeling rough here. Really hoping it goes soon, I need to go back fo work!

I have always been slim but my weight gain in my last pregnancy was huge, over 50% of my bodyweight! Mainly due to ice cream and chocolate. Blush The sweet tooth vanished again as soon as DC was born and now nearly a year on I'm back to my normal weight, ready to start the process again. Grin I wouldn't worry about weight during pregnancy much, it's natural to gain some and lose it afterwards.

E2017 · 17/01/2018 17:11

I seem to be obsessed with eating melon and also passion fruit sorbet. Random as anything lol. However last night I made two apple crumbles. When I took them out of the oven I couldn't stand the smell of them. So that is now two of my favourite foods that I can't stand (the other is bacon). 😳

Is anyone else having a weird relationship with foods like that? Xxx

amzq87 · 17/01/2018 17:21

I have gone off halloumi @E2017 - I used to live for the stuff lol!! Also can't stand Salmon now and that was always a go to for me for a nice meal.

k4rlyb · 17/01/2018 17:22

@E2017 I am as well, I can't deal with the smell of a potato before it's peeled and if cold but I can eat it when it's warm. Also the saw with raw meat, makes me throw up.

TheMildManneredMilitant · 17/01/2018 17:30

@E2017 the food I can/can't eat is changing on a daily basis. Yesterday all I wantes was cottage cheese with pineapple - today I can't stand the thought.
12 weeks today but i'll feel like i've really passed the milestone after my scan next Tuesday. I'm more worried about chromosomal abnormalities this time due to my age - we decided not to get the harmony test early but might go for it if the nuchal/combined test comes back as high/medium risk. It's so expensive though! My NHS trust is going to start offering it but not until April.

Hortonlovesahoo · 17/01/2018 18:00

Oh yes! Daily aversions here. I seem to love citrusy fruits but hate others. I can’t stand anything sweet and chocolate makes me hurl. I really wanted an omelette this morning but when I had it, I hated it. Weird isn’t it?

Stephiewoo · 17/01/2018 18:07

Food aversions 😂😂😂

They are crazy! Anyone will tell you chocolate is my go to, I can't stand it, I'm thirsty and love juices and smoothies but it makes me sick.
Chips and cheese this week, plus my beloved bacon and cream cheese bagels.
Pork=yuk
Coffee=yuk
Chocolate=yuk
Eggs=yuk

It's so strange though.

gkeen369 · 17/01/2018 18:16

@amzq87 that's fantastic work! I put on 4 stone with DD and I only weigh a stone less now than when I was 40wks! I literally have no scope for putting on anything so looking forward to losing a bit to keep in my work uniform as long as possible. I hate wearing scrubs!!
Last time I ate to curb the nausea. Worked but I put on a stone and a half by 12 weeks!! So far (9+4) not put on anything so pleased with that.

Should be getting the vouchers through in the next week or so.
