So sorry to read the sad news, ladies. Be kind to yourselves x

Whichoneisit · 22/01/2018 14:12

Nifty bloods and scan done. Consultant was able to tell us the sex (said over 90% certain) but nifty bloods will confirm in less than 9 days. Will attach a pic for you to see. That’s not the cord...

August 2018 #3 - booking appointments and 12 week scans!
Emmasmum2013 · 22/01/2018 14:19

@Whichoneisit
That's fantastic! How amazing that they can tell the sex so early! Your due date is quite close to mine.. I'm so tempted to book a harmony scan.
Are you going to tell the kids tonight then?

Expecto · 22/01/2018 14:23

@Stephie read Emma’s post-I’m sure the midwife can do a request without the booking in appointment if you push them. Emma also reminded me of another thing the midwife mentioned. She asked if I wanted to have downs screening in which case she’d have to make the referral ASAP. That’s what pushed her hand basically.

@Emma I would call back and mention it to them, hopefully they’ll fit you in earlier

gkeen369 · 22/01/2018 14:27

@BunBunMum @Hettyturnip I am so sorry to hear you're going through this. Big hugs 😢 xxxxxx

Emmasmum2013 · 22/01/2018 14:45

Yeah I've got the letter at home. I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what I can do. Hopefully I can push them a bit.
I've just read though that apparently if you're at risk for downs syndrome from the dating scan then there's a Harmony style test that the NHS can do for you to further investigate. So even if I do end up getting scanned a bit late, there's always that.

Stephiewoo · 22/01/2018 14:56

Spoke to EPU, reassurance scan Wednesday morning and they will refer straight to consultant whilst I there. Sorted hopefully 😊

Expecto · 22/01/2018 15:03

@Emma I think it’s worth mentioning that you want the downs screening at your scan as it might push them a little to bring it forward

@Stephie great stuff 🤗

Emh30 · 22/01/2018 15:04

So so sorry to hear the sad news. Sending lots of love and try to rest Flowersxx

I’m not around very much yet, still keep wondering if I’ve made this pregnancy up and if it’s really real. Hoping the midwife next week will make things seem a bit more real. Not sure I can wait another potentially 4 weeks for a scan, I’m itching to book a private one. I vaguely remember feeling tired in my first pregnancy but wow.. I feel absolutely wiped out plus my 2 year old has decided she fancies trying the potty out so there’s wee everywhere Shock

YouCantBeSirius · 22/01/2018 15:05

I'm so sorry BunBun and Hetty FlowersFlowers

babyH3O · 22/01/2018 16:06

@BunBunMum @Hettyturnip So sorry you're both going through this. ThanksThanks

Peregrane · 22/01/2018 16:21

@BunBunMum and @Hettyturnip I am so, so sorry... Flowers

SmashyCup · 22/01/2018 17:07

@BunBunMum and @Hettyturnip I'm so sorry. Thanks

Gem173 · 22/01/2018 17:33

Anyone else experiencing constipation? It’s so uncomfortable. I’ve just relieved myself after feeling it all day, sorry tmi, but even now I still don’t feel right. :(

peterpanwendy · 22/01/2018 17:36

Thank you to those who replied to my post about anxiety. Felt a little better today.

I am a teacher @Frescoed so have plenty to keep me busy and occupied! I think about it less when I'm at work it's mostly evenings and weekends I feel the most down. I threw up this morning so I'm thinking that was little baby saying quit worrying I'm fine!

@Lucylou86 you are not alone! I haven't missed any work yet but I am on anti-sickness meds' which are helping. I'm still throwing up some mornings but I constantly feel sick all day every day. It is so draining and I don't think people (that know) understand just how bad I've got it. I also feel like I should be coping better :(

@BunBunMum and @Hettyturnip I am so sorry to hear that :'( take plenty of time to heal. Thinking of you both. Hugs ThanksSad

Congrats @Whichoneisit That's so cool! What a clear picture!

Peoniesandcats · 22/01/2018 17:42

Sorry to hear this @bunbun and @hetty please take care and look after yourself xxFlowers

@pan no matter what anyone says its so difficult not to feel so anxious. Ive been trying yoga and mindfulness apps to try and relax, even if it is for just 5 min xx

milney25 · 22/01/2018 17:43

Glad to hear you feel a bit better @peterpanwendy, it's so hard isn't it. I've found it really difficult when people tell me to try not to worry, I find it winds me up even more!

CaffeineDragon · 22/01/2018 17:52

@Hettyturnip I'm so sorry. Thinking of you. x

CaffeineDragon · 22/01/2018 17:56

@Emmasmum2013 they said it can be between 11-14 weeks I think.

Stephiewoo · 22/01/2018 18:04

@Gem173 Yes on the constipation front, I thought it was down to my lack of coffee and cigarette in the mornings. Day one of no smoking at all and going well 😊

TinoTheArtisticMouse · 22/01/2018 18:18

So sorry to hear your news bun and hetty
I guess the cord comment means it's a boy which?

Frescoed · 22/01/2018 18:32

So sorry to hear your news hetty Flowers

Glad you’re feeling a bit better peterpan I remember a similar thing myself last time - in work it’s easier to get caught up in other things. I spent a lot of time in the gym last time as a distraction from thinking about things (not for everyone, but it was my way to detach a bit).

Nice pic which I’ve been considering the NIPT test privately but I think I’ll wait to see what the Combined comes back with first. My SIL in North America gets the Harmony test as standard with her mat care, so they’ve always known the sex very early on.

Hortonlovesahoo · 22/01/2018 18:56

@BunBunMum and @Hettyturnip - I'm so sorry for your losses. I'll be thinking of you x

@Gem173: YES. I've had it for weeks :( It's so uncomfortable. You can get ducolax. There's a herbal version if you'd prefer that. I've taken to eating high fibre foods/prune juice but nothing seems to help.

@Peterpanwendy: I can really sympathise with your constant nausea. I have the exact same and it just doesnt go away.

@Stephiewoo - congrats on day 1! :)

I had a scan today (part of the weekly checks due to my blood clot) and it was good news (touch wood).

Emmasmum2013 · 22/01/2018 19:07

@CaffeineDragon
Everything I’ve seen said 13+6 is the latest they can do it.

Buk88 · 22/01/2018 19:26

@BunBunMum and @Hettyturnip, really shocked and saddened for you both. I'm so sorry for your losses and hope you have good people around you to get you through x
