Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I did in the early stages! It didn’t feel real until I saw the baby.

smilingelizabeth · 23/01/2018 23:06

Thanks for the congratulations.
Yes I am smiling but I understand the anxiety that comes with early pregnancy. I'm a bit anxious too as I'm an older Mum and have 3 kids already!
I've been on a mindfulness course recently and am trying to do some practice every day if I can. I do think it helps.

MonaTheMoaner · 23/01/2018 23:45

I’m new to mindfulness but try to practice it every day too. It may be the only thing keeping me sane day to day.

Jfw82 · 24/01/2018 01:52

@Namechangedtoscream whereabouts in Essex? I'm Essex too and agree there no way Id be heading to Cornwall at that late stage!!

People watching their bp already- I ended up on labetalol at 34 weeks after starting to have high bp from nowhere and ended up
with twice weekly checks after that- I'm not sure whether that means this time they'll want to do something sooner. My Bp is back to normal (high normal) again so not sure if they'll end up medicating me earlier this time?

loveulotslikejellytots · 24/01/2018 06:54

Morning everyone. Had the worst nights sleep, checked on dd as we went to bed, she was sweating and very hot. Changed her pyjamas and she went back to sleep. But she woke up 3 times in the night for a cuddle. She never wants DH, only me. DH was snoring like a train so each time I finally got back to bed he's snoring!!! Angry

Dd then woke at 6 right as rain so I've no idea what last night was about! I can't even spend my day drinking endless coffee...

Fia256 · 24/01/2018 07:58

I had a bad nights sleep too! Dd not very well so was up and down with her, and the wind was really bad all night so I don't feel as though I've slept at all! My nausea kicks in in the middle of the night too, so I spend the whole time I'm awake at night wanting to throw up. I also can never stomach toast when I'm pregnant and that's all we had in as shopping coming later! I feel so miserable this morning!

Paranormalbouquet · 24/01/2018 08:13

Bad night sleep here too! DD came in looking for cuddles as the wind woke her, then her water bottle leaked on my sheets..

Nausea kicked in around 5am. Bad so far this morning. I’ve forced myself to eat a crumpet as I do usually feel better after eating but tbh it hasn’t helped. DD has an appointment this morning (routine yearly thing) and I’ve got mine in afternoon so have taken day off. Booking appointment is then tomorrow (I did try to get them on same day but no luck!) but it’s early at least.

Namechangedtoscream · 24/01/2018 08:15

jfw north Essex so really not wanting to go to Cornwall!

I also had a rotten nights sleep. I'm WFH today so still not got up to face the world. I should really.

kirinm · 24/01/2018 08:16

Morning all. Urgh, I've got a window of about 5 minutes at the start of the day where I don't feel nauseous. It is the BEST 5 minutes . I'm starting to feel pretty drained by the constant nausea now.

smilingelizabeth · 24/01/2018 08:16

I think the mindfulness can help so I'm trying my best to fit it in.
Sorry some of you had bad nights-
my dd4 has had a high temperature bug last few days too. 🙄
The wind was and still is blowing a gail out there- really noisy against the window last night.
Nausea hasn't kicked in for me yet but it's really grim and I'm not looking forward to that!
Have a good day everyone.

smilingelizabeth · 24/01/2018 08:19

*gale not gail!

Paranormalbouquet · 24/01/2018 08:24

@kirinm I had a whole 3 hours last night- I cooked and ate chicken with vegetables (and no Bread based food!)- I was so happy. But it returned before I went to bed. The past few days eating has only helped for a short while and the foods I can eat have been reduced to mostly toast/crumpets with almond butter or avocado. And occasionally cucumber or chopped peppers (thanks to kirinm for the suggestion last week!).

Over 8 weeks which is the peak of nausea usually so hopefully it’s all going to improve from now on.

kirinm · 24/01/2018 08:27

@Paranormalbouquet I can't eat cucumber etc anymore. I manage some melon but ended up with a sandwich for dinner.

3 hours though???! I'm 8w tomorrow so hopefully it shouldn't get any worse now?

Paranormalbouquet · 24/01/2018 08:35

@kirinm 3 good hours! Where I felt almost normal. I was suddenly full of energy and nausea free! From around 630-930pm- but then it was back with a bang.

Oh I can’t have melon, or apples. Red peppers yes but not green. Cucumber is variable! I’m finding avocado pretty good- I hate mashing it but once I’m eating it seems to help. Apparently it helps a lot of people so might be worth a go? I also had some cherries yesterday which went down ok.

CuppaSarah · 24/01/2018 09:01

My nausea has taken a break the last few days and it's been blissful. I haven't been sick, I've been able to eat without thinking about if I can stomach it. I've been enjoying it a lot. I really hope your sickness lets up a bit, it's miserable and takes it toll I imagine after days of it.

Another bad night here. Dreams I was moving house alone and bleeding. Then dd came into our bed at 5, and just wouldn't stop poking me and twiddling my hair. By half 5 ds had woken up from coughing so up we got.

I'm napping when ds naps today!

CuppaSarah · 24/01/2018 09:01

Oh and hi everyone who has joined. Great to see so many people joining us all for the next 9 months.

PassTheAfterEights · 24/01/2018 09:04

Poking head back in just to say a huge thank you @Marriageoftrueminds @intelligentPutty @Fia256 @Paranormalbouquet @kirinm
@loveulotslikejellytots @CuppaSarah @MrsCaecilius @MonaTheMoaner @blondie1001 @LostMyBaubles @Scout2018 @Sals27 @HannahJH @Namechangedtoscream and hope I haven't missed anyone, your kind and sensibleness and encouragement got me through yesterday. Feeling a lot more accepting and positive this morning, thinking about a glass of wine tonight. Good luck for a smooth run to September everybody, wish I could stay on the bus and will miss you! Most un-MN-y lots of love xx

blondie1001 · 24/01/2018 10:17

Ah bless you @PassTheAfterEights - you'll be on another bus before you know it xxx

UppityStitch · 24/01/2018 10:29

Morning all. Crap nights sleep here too. Woke up around 1 to discover DS needed changing and I couldn't get back to sleep after that. I was so uncomfortable!! Luckily I'm off today so it's a duvet day and crap tv for me. Does anyone know when we should start sleeping on our left side?

@Paranormalbouquet I second what everyone else has said. Take care of yourself and you'll be on another bus soon Thanks

loveulotslikejellytots · 24/01/2018 10:50

The weather is horrible here today, wet and blowing a gale. So me and dd are snuggled up on the sofa watching back to back Bing! I don't think she's 100% though she's not usually that snuggly! The house is a tip but dd usually naps from 11-1 so I will do a quick tidy up then have a nap myself Grin

Twinkletoes2018 · 24/01/2018 12:00

Bad nights sleep here too- I have a day off today daughter is in nursery so I'm still in my pyjamas! Nausea on and off here and just quite tired. Have a scan at epu tomorrow so just wishing it was tomorrow already. I'll be 6+1 so wondering (hoping) to see a hb. I just hope it's good news

Mrsssmith11 · 24/01/2018 12:25

Hello again. I keep dropping in and out so sorry if these have been asked.

Was just wondering if any of you are hoping for a vbac, I know a lot of you are parents already. I had a c-sec with dd but hoping for a vbac this time.

Also any other Scottish mummies? Sure there were a few of us.

Shook2018 · 24/01/2018 13:37

@kirinm I feel like we are twinning symptoms! I have the same five minutes of freedom in the morning - I've almost got used to constant nausea. Eating strong flavours (salt and vinegar snack a jacks) is helping though and also ginger squash/cordial.

I can't stop throwing up when brushing my teeth and it's really getting to me :(

kirinm · 24/01/2018 13:51

We are twinning @Shook2018 I frequently start the day with salt and vinegar squares. The teethbrushing vomit is so so grim.

I have a brief reprieve for an hour around 2-3pm but an overwhelming feeling of tiredness hits and then I can look forward to getting home for a 7pm vomit followed by a bread based 'meal' and in bed by 9pm.

kirinm · 24/01/2018 13:52

I can't really manage drinking that much anymore. A week ago I was drinking a good 2-3l a day. Now I'm struggling with half a pint of water.
