Morning Everyone

So sorry to hear about the recent losses Thanks

I've been a bit MIA as I needed some time out. My anxiety has been niggling away and my limited symptoms aren't helping. I'm 5+0 today and keep feeling like AF is coming. I've only got soreish boobs and very painful nipples. Nausea appears the background every so often but it's not that strong. I keep convincing myself every pregnancy is different as I felt so different last time. I've had to sit on my hands to stop myself self referring for an early scan which I know is pointless at 4/5 weeks. I've never wanted to be sick so much in my life. Sorry for the blub

bitzy12 · 20/01/2018 08:54

@UppityStitch I was exactly like you a couple of weeks ago. I'm 7w+3 now and nausea is constant and been sick for the first time this morning. Honestly in my case it was just a waiting game for the symptoms to start but now I wish they would bugger off lol. I'm sure you will be feeling it very soon x

kirinm · 20/01/2018 10:30

Uppity I had no major symptoms at 5w. I started feeling nauseous around 5w5d and it's slowly increased and I started vomiting yesterday at 7w1d which I am not enjoying at all!

HannahJH · 20/01/2018 10:40

I feel intermittently sick at 5+1 and I WISH I didn’t. Had it from 6 weeks with DD and I’m scared how much worse it’ll be this time as I have a phobia of sick. Been to the docs this morning and they’ve prescribed cyclizine for me as a ‘just incase’ and it’s made me feel loads better to know there’s something I can take if I’m really struggling! I’ve not been sick for 18 years and I’m just praying that if I am sick, it’ll help my phobia and not make it worse?! X

MoDip · 20/01/2018 10:50

@UppityStich I am not far behind you at 4w and 5 and I haven’t any nausea yet. We should probably be grateful for now! I’m just tired, emotional and boobs really sore! My nipples at times are kind of stinging to touch! Confused x

UppityStitch · 20/01/2018 11:04

Thank you for the reassurance everyone.

I'm having a bit of a shit week and I'm wallowing in it. DS aged 3 had a special needs assessment this week and it's just something else to add to the pile. Onwards and upwards eh!

Secondsop · 20/01/2018 11:17

Hi @UppityStitch I’m 7w now and my only symptoms are boobs, pelvic twinges / pulling, and occasional background nausea, and tiredness. At 5w it was only boobs. Everyone is different and all of my pregnancies have been different too.

Uppity my anxiety hasn't let me enjoy this pregnancy either. It's awful, isn't it? At 5 weeks I wasn't sick at all. Only at 7 weeks has it really kicked in, in my previous pregnancies it came earlier so I've been terrified. But now my old pregnancy routine of get up, be sick, have some tea, has finally started.

How did your ds' assesment go? It's great you're getting the ball rolling.

dingdongdigeridoo · 20/01/2018 11:55

Sorry to hear that Uppity. A friend of mine has a phobia of sick and has decided not to have children because she’s scared of the morning sickness. I know how deep a phobia it can be. It might be good to see a therapist before the baby is born. Maybe get refered for CBT? It can apparently help people with your condition.

UppityStitch · 20/01/2018 12:10

@CuppaSarah. Thank you for asking. His nursery referred him straight after his 3rd birthday in November. Tbh I've suspected possible autism for a while (ridiculously smart, excellent memory, certain behaviours, late talking etc). But it was still a shock to hear someone say they 'think he's on the spectrum'. On the whole the assessment went well. He's being referred to a Speech and Language Therapist and they think it's something he may grow out of and it should pass before he starts reception.

@dingdongdigeridoo. I've had CBT in the past and it worked well when I remember to use the techniques. As soon as I notice a trigger I try and distract myself. Today's tasks are laundry and cross stitch lol

twiggy123 · 20/01/2018 12:43

Hi everyone I've had my scan and unfortunately confirmed what I knew deep down. Should be 7weeks 4 days and only measuring 5 weeks.
I wish you all the best and I hope the nausea for everyone doesn't get too horrid. Love twiggy xxxx

HannahJH · 20/01/2018 13:03

Twiggy I’m so sorry to hear that, take care of yourself.

I think with my phobia of being sick, I have a part of me deep down that believes I won’t be sick and that’s how I’ve gone through pregnancy once and willing to do it again. However, I’m literally terrified at almost every point in the day.

blondie1001 · 20/01/2018 13:32

So sorry twiggy xxx

CuppaSarah · 20/01/2018 13:41

Oh twiggy I am so, so sorry to hear this. It really is do unfair.

Uppity my dd was assessed for autism at the same age. She suffered with sensory issues, needed ear defenders most of the time, had awful meltdowns when things got too much, lots of other things. At four she started to outgrow all this. She still is a little auditory sensitive at nearly five, but hasn't needed ear defenders for over six months. She is confident socially and is doing amazingly at school. It took a lot of work and nurturing, seeing her now and how much more secure she is is amazing.

On the other hand my sister is high functioning autistic. While she has her issues(mostly caused by my mum and her issues not giving her a secure emotional base) she's doing great. She's working a good job, studying in her free time. Most people who meet her have no idea she's on the spectrum. It's great your ds is already getting support in place!

MonaTheMoaner · 20/01/2018 15:48

I’m so sorry for your loss Twiggy

UppityStitch · 20/01/2018 15:53

Oh @twiggy123, so sorry to hear your news

@CuppaSarah. Your DDs story really cheered me up. I'm glad to hear she's doing well. DS's main issue are sensory processing and not being confident socially, which they've assured me these are all things he can easily learn.

I'm going out tonight to my cousin in law's surprise 40th. I'm seeing it as my last chance to shake a leg and wear a naice dress before the bump appears. No gin for me :(

MonaTheMoaner · 20/01/2018 15:58

I can’t wait to go out again. Soda and lime looks like it could have vodka in and an excuse to dress up a bit.

I, however, have broken my little toe so I’m hobbling around feeling nauseas. Beautiful combination. Trying to keep my mind off the scan on Monday morning until it happens but I can’t deny I’m very anxious that the baby hasn’t grown or doesn’t have a heartbeat, especially since I’m still not vomiting.

HannahJH · 20/01/2018 16:20

You don’t have to actually be sick to guarantee a healthy pregnancy. Or even feel sick :)

LostMyBaubles · 20/01/2018 16:41

Been to epu as I've been bleeding today
Think it was because we dtd thos morning
Have scan tomorrow

Ps they gave me something for sickness

Sorry to hear about all the losses

HannahJH · 20/01/2018 16:56

What did they give you Lostmybaubles and it did it help? I’m too scared to DTD for that reason! Hope all ok xx

LostMyBaubles · 20/01/2018 17:32

Cyclzine

And I've only had 1 tablet and managed 2 small meals since!

When it happened I sat and cried.
Not long after I realised migjt be because of Dtd

Still went to get checked
Had blood protein and luckozyte in my jrine

Paranormalbouquet · 20/01/2018 18:18

Twiggy I’m so sorry to hear that. Lost did they look at your cervix- it’s common to bleed in pregnancy after DTD?

I’m not feeling very sick again today. Trying not to worry but it’s hard.

LostMyBaubles · 20/01/2018 19:04

Nope they didn't. Think they wanted to avoid that to save me some dignity lol

Scan is tomorrow morning rather than making me wait until Friday.
Feel really lucky to have such a helpful epu unit to walk into as and when needed.
Lovely staff at st Mary's hosp!

I've jùst had my second cyclzine tab. Can have upto 3 a day.

They do make me feel a little sleepy but my gosh I can get on with things!

Hubby thinks I've got a uti and it's blood in my urine as the gp wouldn't prescribe anything for the vomiting.
He might be right or combo of both things dtd and infection. My urine was so dark (like number 7/8 on the scale they had)

Trying to drink more but not too much right now or I will be up all night weeing lol

Paranormalbouquet · 20/01/2018 19:10

Haha Lost. Given my cervical issues I feel like every gynae in London has had a look. This period between ovulation and scan next Wednesday is actually the longest I’ve gone since September without a speculum/transvaginal ultrasound!

LostMyBaubles · 20/01/2018 19:12

I feel an idiot for running to epu but I also needed something for the sickness

The tab have kicked in and I feel a little woozy but not sick 🙌 do you know how happy I feel lol
