Someone bought us the Expectant Dad's Survival Guide - it was a bit patronizing at times but it had lots of info about what us ladies are going through when we're pregnant. The problem I've got this time is that in my last pregnancy I wasn't ill at all so I'm having trouble convincing DH that this time I feel like absolute crap!

iamloading · 19/01/2018 09:11

Has anyone else's symptoms vanished? I was so ill and sick last time but other than having a cold I'm absolutely fine. No nausea, no sore boobs... think I'm 8 weeks today and it's been like this for over a week. Really scaring me

MrsCaecilius · 19/01/2018 09:13

Thanks blondie, if the Dr appointment goes well next week I might buy this. I think because nothing is visible, bump, scan etc. He feels like everything is normal. I bloody don't!!

Sals27 · 19/01/2018 09:18

Good luck @Fia256, hoping it all goes well for you Flowers

blondie1001 · 19/01/2018 09:26

Mine keep coming and going @iamloading - I felt so sick all weekend then on Tuesday I woke up feeling totally normal. Now I feel sick again. I don't know which is worse - feeling sick or panicking because I don't feel sick. That's my only symptom - I don't have sore boobs either. I did last time and I liked to give them a reassuring poke throughout the day!

Hope the docs goes well @MrsCaecilius!

iamloading · 19/01/2018 09:30

You made me laugh with the boob poking @blondie1001 as that's exactly what I used to do 😂

Twinkletoes2018 · 19/01/2018 10:17

@Secondsop it's awful at the moment as my sister is misscarrying it's going to be so hard if things work out for me I feel guilty

Molly54 · 19/01/2018 10:21

@MrsCaecilius my partners just bought Pregnancy for men, the whole 9 months by Mark Woods. Apparently it's funny and engaging for men. I might have a peek too :)

Sals27 · 19/01/2018 10:22

Talking of boobs.... I'd been rocking the 4 boob look which was neither comfortable or attractive. I can't believe how much they've grown already! I got some new non wired bras in a size up last night, they are so comfy, I'm in boob heaven! Grin

CuppaSarah · 19/01/2018 11:05

Good luckluck Fia not sure why my phone doubled the luck, but I'm keeping it you deserve double luck.

twinkle I am so sorry about your sister, that's awful. But you must remember, while it's ok to feel guilty, this isn't your fault. It's just really unfortunate timing. But then there's never a good time for a miscarriage. Does she know you're expecting?

After a sickness free day, it's back again today. I forgot last nights.pregnacare too. So I think that's what's stopping my morning sickness. Which is nice...But also not so nice, the sickness is reassuring.

I'm rocking four boobs too. Just got some of those trouser leggings and thick tights to hide the bloat. But I have no way to hide the four boob. One of my pre diet bras that was so comfy and fit so well, the underwiring snapped. I could have cried.

Twinkletoes2018 · 19/01/2018 11:09

Omg omg my sis has just texted they found a hb this am on a repeat scan

Fia256 · 19/01/2018 11:19

Scan all went very well! One healthy looking pregnancy and a heart beat seen clearly! Baby measuring at 6mm, so pretty much spot on! They did say there was two cysts in my left ovary which is what's been causing the pain but they'll be managing that and checking it each scan! So relieved!

twiggy123 · 19/01/2018 11:24

Great news Fia and twinkle toes Smilexx

Molly54 · 19/01/2018 11:36

Fia - that's great news, how lovely!

And twinkle - fantastic news, so so pleased!

Tried to book my booking in app with midwife today but there are no appointments until the end Feb which seems far too long. Aren't they meant to do blood tests before or on 8 weeks? Waiting for someone to call me back but they said that might take 2 weeks.... not sure what to do!

blondie1001 · 19/01/2018 11:47

Yay great news @Fia and @Twinkle.

@Molly the midwife doesn't see you until at least 10 weeks where I am so hopefully it'll be OK

Molly54 · 19/01/2018 12:09

@blondie1001 thank you! I just called them and things are much clearer! They said they'll always make sure they see people around 8 weeks even if it means moving things around or coming to your house. So even if the call back takes 2 weeks they'll still get me in on time. Phew!

blondie1001 · 19/01/2018 12:28

@Molly phew - what a relief!

intelligentPutty · 19/01/2018 14:08

@Fia So so pleased for you.
Just logged on to check how you got on..
How far along are you today?
another scan in a couple of weeks too I guess?

Fia256 · 19/01/2018 15:04

@intelligentPutty they just said I'm around 6 and half weeks so pretty much works out right as going by lmp I'm 6+5 anyway! And no!! Can you believe they've said next scan will be the 12 week. Our epu seem to be really tight in comparison to most, you can't even self refer either. I've got midwife on Tuesday though so depending what she says, if it still stays at 12 weeks, I'm going to book a private one for 9 weeks I think!

LostMyBaubles · 19/01/2018 15:07

Fia
So glad your scan went well

Not managed to keep up as vomiting has hit hard and nausea

I made telephone consultation with GP who has refused to treat it and said he will try accupunture instead

I'm sure there are some meds they can give to help with sickness?

intelligentPutty · 19/01/2018 16:02

No way, 12 weeks!!!Hopefully that's a good sign and means they are not worried about you??
I must get down to the doctors and fill in the forms for the midwife. I'ma bit scared too, feel like I will be jinxing it but don;t want to leave it too late..

HannahJH · 19/01/2018 16:28

Fia that’s great about the scan, congrats!!

Baubles, they defo can give meds and from the reading ive done it seems to be the earlier they give them the more effective they are. I don’t think doctors like prescribing anything in pregnancy unless they HAVE to :( hope you’re feeling better soon xx

HannahJH · 19/01/2018 16:43

Anyone heard of acupuncture for morning sickness? I’m thinking of giving it a go x

Namechangedtoscream · 19/01/2018 17:18

Sorry I've been AWOL hope everyone is alright. I couldn't get into EPU any earlier than Monday so I'm having to carry on as normal. Today was the first day in a while i woke up without nausea and could do my teeth without gagging. Cramps are worse boobs back to normal and spotting getting heavier. Monday is going to be awful.

Secondsop · 19/01/2018 17:27

@Fia256 - great news! I have the same cyst causing the same twinges. It is both annoying and (now that I’ve had a scan) reassuring.
