Bollocks - can't get it to work.
Its in the Dulux paint booklet on the feature wall page (Rasperry Diva and Gentle Fawn) If you've got it?

Can't help with those pains Foxy? Don't know what they might be?
I'm aching all over - like I've been beaten up or something! Probably cos I've spent the afternoon cleaning out my horsebox and taking it for a spin - they're bloody bouncy those Leyland DAFs - gave the LO a good bounce about! Have decided It might be a good way to induce labour when the time comes!! Either that or DH could roll me in the back (as I'm about a big as a horse now!) to get me to Hospital!?

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 21:43

You step away for a few hours and miss loads......

Hi Pingu . When are you due? I'm also oop north, but in Leeds, although I'm scottish originally. Think there's some trans-pennine divide thingy where us tykes aren't meant to talk to you lancastrians...someting about a war with roses...am I right?
I wouldn't mind a trip through to Manchester as the shops seem much better than ours (you have John Lewis I believe) but am kind of stuck at the mo...DH would have a heart attack if I even suggested it, but will definately be through afte I've had the bub at some point.....so, DKMA...if you want to meet as well and swap birth stories....

Foxy....sounds like you've been overdoing things....calm down dear. It could be your sciatic nerve......do some pelvic tilts, they help with mine when it gets nasty.

LOL DKMAFME

how did you get on with your pelvis thread? Did you get any good info?

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 27/04/2007 21:46

Pelvis thread has dried up a bit. I've just added to it to keep it on the top of the list for a bit longer.
Guess I'm just have to wing it during labour and hope it doesn't bust open again! That would really piss me off!!!!!!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 21:46

Here i am, sat on my fat arse taking it easy....and you're all going mad decorating....whilst my poor LO will have blue walls wiht stars and planets wallpaper whether she likes it or not

OP posts:
Daisybump · 27/04/2007 21:49

DKMA...I'm sure it'll all be fine and they will keep an eye on you as a result....are you open to the idea of a c-section if necessary...have they talked about that as an option at all if things don't go well? Or have you set your mind on a natural birth?

OP posts:
foxybrown · 27/04/2007 21:49

she'll love it I'm sure! I'm only doing it now because there are cracks in the walls!

been smothering on the filler with a kids plastic knife. not the best finish, but hey!

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 21:52

just checked in on the April thread...there's been nothing from Katie since lunchtime and no news yet from maveta....how exciting...hopefully more babies by the morning. Need to start lurking on the May thread soon, but that just seems a little too close for comfort!!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 27/04/2007 21:59

yes, I was thinking exactly that today. every baby born is one closer to ours ... ooooohhhh

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 27/04/2007 22:00

Daisy - I really want a natural birth if poss as there is a better chance of a faster recovery. If I have a c section then it will be several months before I will be able to ride my horse again (that prob sounds silly to non horse riders), but its the only thing keeping me going through this pg marathon - it's my light at the end of the tunnel (as well as having a lovely baby!)
What will be - will be! I might end up with c section, who knows. MW / Consultants have been very vague but have not recommended a c section yet.
I will be showing my Xrays to anyone who will look during my next MW apt - and see what she says? Might want to refer me in again to talk to consultant?

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:04

so, the professionals you've spoken to have no idea then?!! I wonder if you can get a second opinion from anywhere else? are they preparing you for any eventuality - or are they being vague?

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 22:04

Daisy and dontknowmy....

Would a meet up in Manc...only live a mile from the centre so it's easy for me. I'd love to be able to drag you round all the fine winebars, shops etc, but I reckon coffee will have to do! Let me know if you're planning a trip to manc anytime soon. I promise I'll forget any historical divides between lacastrians and whoever!

pingu x

Daisybump · 27/04/2007 22:09

DKMA...have you thought about employing a Doula to help you through the whole thing......or, as that web page I found suggests, try hypnosis????

Can't believe there isn't anyone out there who has had experience of this. Surely your consultant has come across it before and has statistics to hand???

you might get more responses on the health section???

Pingu...when I feel fit enough...definately...so sometime around October 2008 it is

OP posts:
pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 22:13

october, haha!

Daisy fills pingu with hope and inspiration for impending motherhood

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:14

when are you due Pingu?

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:18

right, am off to bed. Nite all, sleep well xx

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 22:22

8th june foxy

i had a scan today, as my placenta was slightly low-lying on the 20 week scan. (I posted about it briefly on MN at the time)
Thankfully it's now where it should be, so I'm relieved.
The view of the bambino itself was funny though, I could hardly make out a thing as there was so little room! S/he is around 5.5lbs already and is likely to be a porkie. There was a definite double chin (no, really!), so must be taking after their mother....
Seriously though, the pic of the 20 weeks scan was sooo clear and cute, that I was almost a bit freaked by how skewed the image looked today (that makes me sound awful I realise). I guess I just niavely expected to be able to see loads more than I did!

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:24

ahh thats good news about your placenta. you must be relieved!

at you though! Why can't someone be due AFTER me?

am really off to bed now xx

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 22:26

before you go!

When are you due?

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:27

29th June. [grumpy face]

my last was 10 days late, so have no high expectations of this one!

pinguthepenguin · 27/04/2007 22:29

Don't first babies notoriously arrive late though? perhaps this one'll be one time....fingers (or legs in my case) crossed!

Night!

Dontknowmyarsefrommyelbow · 27/04/2007 22:32

Medics have been VERY vague, but they haven't yet seen my Xrays - I think once they do they will have a better idea as I broke it in 2 places - near my back on the right side - and right under by my fanjo on the right side.

I have thought about hypnosis etc, but weirdly I'm not so worried about the pain (it didn't really hurt when I broke it to be honest) but I am worried about it breaking again as I couldn't walk for ages - just had to lie flat in hopsital!

I am going to push for a Orthopead and Obs/gyne joint appointment I think - to see what they recommend having seen exactly where the breaks have been. Or to tell me that broken pelvic bones flex as normal during labour (as I am hoping they do?)

Anyhow - LO's head is down in the pelvic area now and I have no pain at all - so - so far - so good!

Sorry to bore u all with this - but I suppose as it's getting nearer it's really playing on my mind.

I know quite a few (horsey) friends who have also broken their pelvis's but either after they have had children or they have never had children - so not much help.

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:33

my first (and second actually) came on the day! DD was the late one. Hopefully this DD will do things differently and be early!

There's a stats thread somewhere - i think we forgot to copy it over onto this one, I've had a look but couldn't find it. Will try to rememebr to copy it over tomorrow for you to add yours to. am losing the ability to type though!

am off to bed, there's a two year old hogging it right now! sleep well.

foxybrown · 27/04/2007 22:36

TBH DKMA, I find it quite shocking that they aren't giving you a bit more care! They haven't seen your x-rays?? That is appalling!

And don't worry, you aren't boring us. But I am rather for you! Want me to shout at someone for you ... oh I'm such a mum!
