Thank you everyone for your wise words, I'm a little less stressed now as have decided, as many said, she simply isn't important! Will feedback whatever happens at the doctors today
Good luck with your scan apricott - will be checking in to see your news later!

alicet · 24/05/2007 08:59

Glad to hear you're less stressed HMP. Maybe discuss the situation with your doc? Then if they think you need time off they can sign you off even if its only for a short time. Fingers crossed you won't need that as it means you are well but never a bad thing for them to know....

MrsFish · 24/05/2007 09:20

Thanks alicet, it is indeed the two of us, he is a beaut isn't he {proud mum} just hoping his brother will be as cute

KezzaG · 24/05/2007 11:00

Morning Mrs, how is it going? Tell me all your pregnancy tales, is it going well? are you eating for 2? any sign of a bump? I want all the details

Hi everyone else, hope everyone is feeling well today.

Mumpbump · 24/05/2007 11:04

Morning all! Just a quick catch up as I got into work late after taking ds to the doc's - he might have chickenpox, but she said it was too early to tell and there was no advantage in keeping him off nursery as he would have been infecting people over the last few days! They didn't look too happy when I told him, but said that he could stay...

Congratulations Greedy! Another girl for the list. Wonder what Apricott's will be?

HMP - I would definitely tell your doctor about the work situation. That could be affecting your bp and you can get signed off for stress - would serve the head right! I think protein in your urine can be a sign of diabetes whether you're pg or not. Don't know if it is a sign of anything else. I had a trace of protein at my booking-in appointment and the mw didn't seem concerned so what follow-up you get probably depends on how conservative is the individual you see.

Anyway, will pop back later once I've got on top of my incoming...

HonorMatopoeia · 24/05/2007 11:39

Hi again
Well, I've just got back from the doctors and BP was down to 99 / 72 - very strange! Blood tests weren't back but she's going to ring me this afternoon if they show there's anything to worry about. I'm off on holiday on saturday so she told me to make sure I knew where the local hospital was...just incase!
Mentioned the stress at work and she said it could be a contributing factor and to come back if it got worse!

j20baby · 24/05/2007 11:47

thats good mt, maybe you just had a stressful day yesterday

i've just been for a temporary filling, so feeling decidedly sorry for myself and going to have a nice soak in the bath since i can't eat for a couple of hours

Hi Everyone hope everyone is OK today, I have just had a really good training session, a nice class so I am feeling tired but happy at the moment

HMT where are you off to on holidays? I am very would love to get away mind you its a bank holiday here this weekend so at least I get a nice long weekend.

Good luck Apricott, hurry back and let us know how you got on!

HonorMatopoeia · 24/05/2007 12:48

Ouch J20, you have my sympathy, I hate anything to do with teeth! Relaxing bath certainly sounds the way to go.
PolarMummy, we're off to Devon with another Mnetter and her family.Weather is supposed to be...mixed! What do you do in Devon, with three children under the age of five, which involves no prolonged standing,in the wet?!

Apricott · 24/05/2007 13:27

Hi y'all

Thanks for all the good wishes. Isn't it great to have this place for mutual support.

Well, I'm back and ... we asked not to find out, so it's another surprise. I'm convinced it's a girl for some reason. DH hinted he saw otherwise on the screen, but I'm not sure whether he was just joshing with me.

Baby is fine, whatever it is, which is the main thing. I'm feeling down though. Had a bit of a bleed this morning (mw at hospital reassured me and I'm not too worried about it - I ahve a cervix that bleeds at the drop of a hat when I'm not pg, so most likely it's just that, and there were no signs of anything wrong in the uterus on the scan). And ... my placenta is currently low-lying - partially covering the cervix. I'm now really depressed at thought of having to have a c/s if it doesn't move. I know it probably will, the radiologist reckoned nearly all do, but I'm feeling irrationally (no doubt hormonally) miserable about it at the moment. Have to go back for appointment with consultant at 28 weeks and another scan at 36 weeks. I know I should just feel happy about lovely waving baby in there and not worry about this, but this has made me realise just how much I want a minimal intervention birth I suppose. I'll feel better soon.

I haven't read all yesterday's and today's posts, just had a quick skim through, so hope I haven't missed anything important going on with anyone else.

Apricott · 24/05/2007 13:37

Feeling better already . Just telling you all helped!!!

Pleased all is well with baby Apricott and I hope, bynow, you're feeling even better . Sorry to hear about the bleed but it is really reassuring that the mw said all was ok and I hope you can start to forget about it and not worry too much! I know what you mean about setting your heart on a particular type of birth, I hope you get the one you want, there's plenty of timefor the placenta to move out the way

Mumpbump · 24/05/2007 13:49

Apricott - can't remember if this is your first baby, but you would be amazed at how much they grow. I have a belly cast from ds and sometimes I just look at it in disbelief. I can't believe my body could do that! So, it is very, very likely that your placenta will move! Good news about the baby though!!

alicet · 24/05/2007 14:21

MrsFish checked out your other pics - very cute! Cool scan pic too!!

Apricott - sorry you're feeling down. I had a mate who needed a section for a low lying placenta and if its any consolation they rescanned her much earlier - I think they would do this to you too if they were really worried about it. Fingers crossed it will move anyway but if you need a section its not as bad as you think. I needed an emergancy one with my first and made a really good recovery - much better than I expected and even though it was a long way from the water birth I had hoped for it was still a really emotional experience. Since then I have accumulated a lot of info about making sections a more personal experience in case I need one this time which I would be very happy to share with you if you needed it - just ask. Fingers crossed it will be unnecessary though!

ejt1764 · 24/05/2007 14:57

Afternoon all, just about to go to physio, but popped in to see how you all are first!

Apricott - great news that baby is fine! Sorry to hear that your placenta is low - here's hoping that it moves. Even if it doesn't - the best part of the traumatic experience that was ds's birth was the caesarian section itself ... sorry to hear about your bleed too - you just don't need it do you ... come here and have a hug!
