Yay kitti and FT! Chuffed for you both

Best of luck for you greedy - that law of averages maxim is rubbish really - there's not that many of us on here for it to count for a start (I thought it was only about 1-2 in 100 where problem is picked up and often then its stuff that can correct itself / be sorted fairly easily)

ejt1764 · 23/05/2007 17:06

Fab news floria and kitti (I had prickles in my eyes too!).

Greedy - hopefully everything has gone right for you.

Have been for acupuncture this afternoon - I mentioned that consultant yesterday agreed that induction was not the way to go for me if I go past dates, and that I'm really keen to go for a vbac .... she said 'no problem, once you've got to your due date, I'll start you off!!' Has taken the fear factor out of the whole induction / due date thing.

Having an early night tonight - have been out the last 3 nights, and I can't cope with it!

love to all ...

Hi nezi - I'm using a 5' long skinny beanbag - it's very comfortable, and I used it when pg with ds - and then as a bf pillow.

They're a good idea - I can't remember how much mine was, but it was a good deal less than £40 (but it was bought 5 years ago!!)

PolarMummy · 23/05/2007 17:35

Congrats Kitti & Floria really delighted for you both I hope the shloer is nicely chilled for you when you get to drink it.

Greedy even though your scan is probably over by now I am thinking of you. Hoping you will be posting soon with a big smiley face.

MrsFish · 23/05/2007 17:45

Nezi - I bought one from MOthercare, £25 iirc and it is about 4-5ft long, I love it

have a look here

MrsFish · 23/05/2007 17:46

Fab news on the scan front, I wonder if greedy is going to find out

HonorMatopoeia · 23/05/2007 17:50

Hi ladies - I want to cry
Just been to the drs, after the collapse and hospital on sunday and my head kicking off, needed to get a sick note.
Anyway, she took my bp 136 / 88, I mentioned my headaches (minor) and she asked me to do a urine test. She said there were traces of protein in there and sotook three tubes of blood from me and sent them off.I presume she's worried about pre-eclampsia, wouldn't it be slightly early at 18 weeks?
Got to go back tomorrow for results of blood tests - what are they testing for? Have dd on my own tomorrow too so that should send the BP soaring!
On the plus side she listened to baby's heartbeat and it sounded loud and clear.
I hate things not being completely 'right'
Sorry- moan over.

Pheebe · 23/05/2007 17:58

Hi HMP
Your BP is a little high but not dramatically so (norm is 120/70). Higher BP will push out protein in your urine. Might just be you'll need BP meds for a while to keep you on an even keel. Try not to worry too much just yet, its good thats its been picked up so they can keep an eye on you and even better that bubs HB is strong.
{{{{hugs}}}}}

HonorMatopoeia · 23/05/2007 18:03

Thanks Pheebe - daftly I thought a 2nd pg would be easier than my 1st - not so apparently. Oh well, will have to wait and see what tomorrow brings. (appreciate the hugs, need them today!)

Pheebe · 23/05/2007 18:26

Your very welcome HMP, I thought things would be easier second time around too (after 12 weeks anyway!) but I seem to have far more aches, pains and worries than last time, or maybe its just rose tinted specs???

j20baby · 23/05/2007 18:29

congrats everyone

can't stop, been putting up a wardrobe and doors in dd room, and got loads to do.

anyone heard from greedy yet? hope she's ok.

has anyone heard from greedy?hope her scan went well aswell!

FloriaTosca · 23/05/2007 19:48

Hi All
Sorry!Didnt mean to make you cry!I'm just soooo relieved..(for the moment at least!)
Greedy hurry home and let us know how everything went..I've got to go report to the in-laws (m-i-l feeling left out 'cos my Mum came to the scan)...and I'm itching to know how you are.
HMP try to put your feet up when you can, I was going dizzy and tired and had a thumping head 2 weekends ago and it turned out my BP was a wee bit low, a weekends directing action from the couch and everything righted itself...easier said than done I know but dom it as much as you can. i'm sure you'll be fine

greedygreedyguzzler · 23/05/2007 20:18

sorry all! this has been my first chance to get on the pc since my scan! all fine! turns out i was being a drama queen again and had nothing to worry about. i really can't believe how clear the scans are now, everything seemed so much clearer than i ever remember it before.
i asked the sonographer if she could tell me the sex and not my dh and my dh said " oh......if you are really going to find out then i want to know as well!"
so............looks like we are having another girl! can't quite believe it! i KNEW we were really but its still a shock to find out for definate.
i will have to dig out all my dd's pretty pink sleepsuits now!

HonorMatopoeia · 23/05/2007 20:20

brilliant news greedy! Another girl, fantastic news !

j20baby · 23/05/2007 20:21

Enjoy looking at all the girly things bet you won't be able to walk past any of them without stopping to admire them

KezzaG · 23/05/2007 21:12

well done greedy, another good result for us all.

HMP sorry to hear you are feeling sad. I dont know anything about high BP but at least if it has been discovered it can be treated/helped/monitored whatever. I hope you feel a bit better soon.

Hope all goes well tomorrow Apricott.

ejt1764 · 23/05/2007 22:07

Fab news about your scan greedy

HMP - thinking of you - hopefully your worry over this won't send your bp up any further. Thinking of you tomorrow - I'd consider getting doc to sign you off for a bit though - to make sure that you're getting enough rest.

Am now really going to bed (needed to come and see if greedy had posted!)

Good luck for tomorrow Apricott.

love to all..

alicet · 23/05/2007 22:24

Hi all - been away with work the last couple of days and onlyh time to skim read whats been happening....

COngrats to everyone on the scans!! Great to have more happy news.

HMP - sorry to hear you're having a tough time. Your head CANNOT make you go off before 36 weeks (and there is no way I could have worked longer than that last time even though I had planned 38 so don't be too disheartened if you had planned to stay later). Don't know if your doc backdated your sick note but you can actually self certify yourself off work for a week anyway so you only need a sick note if you are staying off longer than that. She is being a bully - try not to let her add to your stress. She is just not important right now - you and your baby are. Hope your test results are OK. Your GP and MW sound like they are keeping close tabs on you which is good news.

Hello to everyone else - sorry I can't remember everyone elses news! Will be back tomorrow - in the meantime its way past my bedtime so goodnight!

alicet · 24/05/2007 08:19

Good luck for your scan today apricott. Fingers crossed for more good news! Can't remember if you wanted to find out the sex but here's hoping they can see if you want to and it's not obvious if you want a surprise!!!
