nezi im rh neg aswell.have had anti d after all pregnancies, and during the pregnancies which ive bled.mw said i will get a large dose at 28/29 weeks, she said the used to give it twice in smaller doses but have changed it now.

alice,ds is completely fine and im not as worried now.hes done his usual tantrum palava,so thats a good sign!my hat goes off to for being a surgeon.you must help so people.

am feeling completely crappy.have had the runs again, its teh fourth time in a week.trying to think of what ive been eating to see if thats the cause, but havent really been eating much.so think im going to take mw's advice and stick to water for the next couple of days, she told me last week not to worry about eating, baby will get plenty of my reserves, but to eat dry toast or crackers if i feel like it.

been to bed this afternoon.was up since 4.45,so im knackered.couldnt sleep because dd kept crying for me and dh couldnt cope with her tantrums,so i laid in bed thinking!

kezza, congrats on your scan results!!am getting impatient now...i want mine done!!!

karlou · 16/05/2007 17:54

Mumpbump - that sounds like me. Just the slightest thing makes me worn out and I haven't been into work since last Wednesday.

Hi all,

ejt -sounds like you're having a really tough time with your pregnancy! Lets hope you get a physio appt soon - my mate is having loads of probs with back pain and its really helping her.

As to type of surgeon - general surgery (boobs blood vessels and bowels mainly!) but I specialise in breast surgery. As in cancer and reconstructive surgery after rather than the plastics stuff. I'm very lucky in that I love my job! But agree with a lot of your neg comments about some docs - just hope I'm not one of them! Don't feel you have to be polite and not slag them off now!!

Tiredness is a sign of anaemia (sorry can't remember who asked) but then again I am knackered all the time being pregnant and looking after a toddler and I know I'm not anaemic. No harm in asking for a blood test though if you think you're more tired than you should be.

J2O speaking of which good news about the liquid iron rather than jabs! Orage juice is a good tip not only for taste but vitamin c helps you to absorb the iron.

Kezza congrats on the scan! Had just been chatting to my dh about names and Freddie may be a possibility for us although we really struggle with boys names! Which means we're bound to have a boy!!!!

Think I may be next with the scan according to the list? Next Tues - getting excited rather than anxious now with all the happy news!!

Catch up later....

J20BABY · 16/05/2007 19:12

ok, twice today i've had the stinky iron stuff, and i can handle the taste, but its making me go queezy and a bit stomach achey, do you think i'm just getting an iron rush~?

going to try and have an early night tonight, but prob end up sitting here on mn all night again!

J20BABY · 16/05/2007 19:13

p.s, i don't think the stomach cramps will be because of the fresh orange because i drink it anyway

OP posts:
alicet · 16/05/2007 19:24

I think the iron can cause that but not 100% sure. Can check tomorrow for you if you like....

J20BABY · 16/05/2007 19:27

oh yes please, if you get the chance, just posted a thread about it, because it really does feel strange, it's made my ears go hot, weird or what!

OP posts:
honeyapple · 16/05/2007 19:56

Poo! I am at the bottom of the scan waiting list...

Just been reading a good book to DD- it's a Little Princess one- "I want a sister"- of course baby turns out to be a brother!

PolarMummy · 16/05/2007 20:44

J20 just read your symptoms and Iron supplements can be hard on your stomach, although the orange helps with absorbing the Iron I am not sure if it will be helping your poor tummy. I hope these feelings settle down for you, sounds like you are having a hard time.

asur · 16/05/2007 20:48

Hi all, just a quick post (promise!)

Has anyone seen/tried/used a Chinese Gender Chart? (like this It's been accurate for everyone that I've tried in it, just curious how accurate it would be for all of us... Course we have to wait till October to find out for sure!

Congrats to those who have had good/happy news. Sorry to those who aren't feeling well/are in pain.

WinnieThePooh · 16/05/2007 20:53

Going by your link asur I will be having anither girl.

I will hopefully find out at my scan on 4th June.

J20BABY · 16/05/2007 20:54

polarmummy, thanks for thinking of me

mine was right, don't know about dd1, it doesn't do age 17.

OP posts:
MrsFish · 17/05/2007 09:02

The link is correct for me A BOY

Mumpbump · 17/05/2007 09:41

J2O - did you get any other symptoms that made you think you might be anaemic? As Alicet says, I can't help wondering if my fatigue is the natural result of being pg with a toddler and don't want to take time of work/pester stretched NHS unnecessarily. Tutter mentioned on another thread that she was also breathless which I am and have been for a while, much more so than last pg.

I guess Alicet is right and I will just have to take myself of to the doctor's to get checked. It's the only way I'm going to know!

I'm on for another boy if the Chinese calender is right. I'm kind of vaguely hoping for a girl, but don't mind if it is a boy...

PolarMummy · 17/05/2007 11:00

Just looked at the Chinese Gender chart and according to it I am having a girl, but will just have to wait until October to find out

However I did check for my sister and for a friend and it said they should have both had girls but actually both had boys so I will be keeping an open mind until the big day

buffythenappyslayer21 · 17/05/2007 11:37

hi everyone

alice,i really respect surgeons.ds1 had an accident when he was 4,and has had alot of operations on his face and eye.(he climbed up a glass display cabinet, and it all fell on top of him, glass went in his eyes and his face was cut open completely around his eyes and forehead.)he ahd ops to remove the glass, plastic surgery and skin grafts on the wide open cuts, and has had many ops on his eye to try to remove the glass and then to try to help him get his sight back in his left eye.unfortunately the retina got sevvered so he is completely blind in taht eye.all teh surgeons taht have operated on him, have all been so wonderful and actually cared about him.one of them flew over from ireland to operate on him,and even gave us his home phone number to contact him if we were worried,or if ds had any probs.

gps just dont seem to care tbh.one of the gps at our surgery i refuse to see him.he treated me for 6 months for depression, was on prozac the whole time, then he decided to do a blood test,he rang me and said that if he hadnt done the blood test within 2 weeks i wouldve collapsed, and within 6 weeks i wouldve died from organ failure as my thyroid had completely stopped working.he said that i was likely to get thyroid cancer and that it was the easiest to remove so i should live!!!i came out in tears!i saw one of teh other gps who totally dismissed what the crappy gp had said.crappy gp told my mum she had stomach cancer, said she would live around 6-12 months, she decided to go private and have some tests doen, turned out she had an ulcer!i ahve no faith in him at all,and always ask to see the female gp (who goes completely ott,and makes you panic, but i think because shes a mum shes just over cautious.)

feeling completely knackered out today, had a migraine last night, couldnt see a thing, went to bed and head started banging.still got headache now,but not as bad.dh went to chemists and got some paracetamol, not that they do much good!

sorry to moan, just feeling very run down today!

oh,and ds is alot better!

buffythenappyslayer21 · 17/05/2007 11:43

just looked at that chinese chart, and according to it im having a boy!(which i think im having!)but.....when i went for my first scan they said my dates were 8 days out (but im almost positive im not as i was sure of the date i ovulated)so i think if im right its a boy,but if scan is right its a girl (according to the chart!!)

by my dates my lmp was 4th jan,and i ovulated on the 19th/20th jan.8 days later would be 27th/28th jan so i would probably have concieved around teh end of the month/beginning feb (thats right i think..according to teh scan)oh and im 32.

J20BABY · 17/05/2007 12:53

mumpbump~ it could be that your slightly anemic?

not really breathless, but been going everywhere in car lately

i have been feeling really down in the dumps which can apparantly be because of anemia, but there are so many other factors at the moment, that it probably isn't that.

can't really think of any other symptoms, although, when you pull down the bottom of your eye, the skin inside should be white, not red, but mine is a bit of both, so doesn't really mean anything.

none of that was really any good to you was it?

when's your next appointment, just mention it and ask for a blood test.

hi to everyone else

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 17/05/2007 13:11

Next appointment is with doctor at 25 weeks, so another 5 weeks away. Can't face feeling this cr*p for that long if there is something I can do about it. Might start muching on apricots and see if that helps...

J20BABY · 17/05/2007 13:14

ring your gp or mw then, if you have got it, it takes at least about a week to get it into your system. are you taking any pg vitamins? if not, you could maybe do with a bottle

or you could try guiness!

OP posts:
Mumpbump · 17/05/2007 13:21

I'm taking pregnacare, but was borderline anaemic on them last time. I actually know someone who got guinness on prescription during pg because of her iron levels - lucky them!!!

Will ring and sort out an appointment. Better safe than sorry...

J20BABY · 17/05/2007 13:22

really??!! wow!

yes, best to, good luck x

OP posts:
Apricott · 17/05/2007 13:23

Hi all,

Sorry to hear of all the aches and pains and accidents and other woes.

Mumpbump - do investigate the anaemia possibility, but at the same time never underestimate the power to pregnancy to make you feel crap all by itself. I've been a bit breathless and have read that it's a normal pregnancy symptom, if that's any reassurance. Also, in my experience at least, almost all the pg symptoms are more pronounced and happening earlier this time than last time. As to exhaustion - don't start me, and I haven't even got a toddler to cope with. I'm not surprised you're worn out.

Went to preggy yoga last night for the first time. It was lovely. Most of teh women were much further on than us, and they were HUGE. That'll be us soon !

Take care all x

greedygreedyguzzler · 17/05/2007 13:58

thats me already apricott! HUGE i mean!!!
