well needed to start new thread, sorry if title is rubish (refers to the chinese new year) if people aren't keen, we can do another one!

well i went to boots, but they didn't have any, apparantly the store wasn't big enough, so went to McDonalds instead!

going to try and order from the website, only want a little starter pack to have a nosy, as i only intend to use them when i'm at home not out and about.

honeyapple, will let you know what type they are and good luck with maureen

glad to here all is well pheebe

J20BABY · 15/05/2007 14:00

yes i'm chuffed, especially because everyone thought it was a boy, and i was quite sure it was a girl, so proved them all wrong

well, the sonographer said, she couldn't be 100 % but she had her legs wide open (the baby that is) and she said(the sonographer) that she had seen nothing to indicate a boy throughout the scan, so pretty sure its a girl, dd will be very happy too

buffythenappyslayer21 · 15/05/2007 15:32

congrats j20!!!cant wait to find out what mine is!!(im convinced its a boy!)

been baby shopping today, got a steriliser from tesco (got tommee tippee ones on sale,i got a steam one,but theyve got the microwave ones aswell, just incase any of you are looking for one!!)its got free bottles inside aswell.

also bought a mamas and papas carseat and base from argos.was goingt o get one off the m&p website, but argos are cheaper, and you get the base,m&p you have to pay £40 extra for the base and the carseat is £110 from them on its own!!(argos are £99 for the seat and base)

bought a swinging crib off ebay on sunday, was so chuffed i found it!!its got all teh drapes and bedding with it aswell.

tryingt o get all my baby buys out of the way,as weve got tonnes to buy for the new house!

got some great news when we got home,we applied to the family fund for help with a new washing machine, dryer and fridge freezer.id never heard of them, but dd's specialist social worker told us taht they help families with disabled children.filled in the forms, sent them back 2 weeks ago,and was told wed have to wait 4 months.got letter today saying that we will get a comet gift card in the next few days to buy everything we need!!i started crying when i read it!!everything has been going on the blink, and because dds medicines are kept in the fridge ive been worrying myself stupid!and what with teh baby and the new hosue to buy for,and with dh giving up work,i thought we'd never get to replace the things we need to.im sooooo happy and emotional now!!!daft i know, but we never get help from anyone, and this is just such a relief.

sorry to whittle on,but preg hormones have taken over, and im feeling more happy now!

KezzaG · 15/05/2007 15:36

Oooh congratulations J20, how lovely to know. Do you have any names shortlisted yet? I think it is nice to know if you already have child/children as you can prepare them a bit more. Saying that I am not going to find out but I can see why people do. Greedy, now are you going to find out without your dh knowing?

My consultant was lovely and I am booked for a VBAC, but I get to have a scan at 36 weeks to check baby is in right position and not a giant and then I can go for it.

Did I say I had hit a wall???? LOL not anymore I am up and over it and really excited about scan tomorrow.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 15/05/2007 15:37

has anyone heard from gemma?hope shes ok.

KezzaG · 15/05/2007 15:39

ahh buffy just read your post, thats really good news about getting help with stuff. Although you realise all the baby stuff you are collectng all has to be packed and moved with you! thats a god few boxes extra for your poor dh

Forgot to say, as I was leaving the hospital today it was the start of visiting time on the maternity ward, and there was someones dh taking his ds in to see the new brother/sister. I got tears in my eyes thinking that that would be my dh and ds soon. Bloody hormones

Mumpbump · 15/05/2007 15:54

Kezza - I was like that when the book I had ordered for ds arrived - Waiting for Baby. It had a picture of the husband and toddler visiting the wife and new baby in hospital and brought tears to my eyes! Good luck for your scan tomorrow!

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 15:59

kezza - how funny you got tears in your eyes! we must be very alike cos i got tears in my eyes when i read your post! i cant wait to see how my two react to the new baby! although they were both playing 'babies' this morning and the way they were carrying them around by the ankles worried me a bit!!! glad all is sorted for your vbac! and no, i wasn't there today by the way! forgot to answer that before sorry!

buffy - great news about the comet card! can you get the most expensive ones or do they limit you?

KezzaG · 15/05/2007 16:12

Mmm we are all saddo cry babies really arent we

when I did the hospital tour for ds my dh was away so my friend came with me. Quite amusing as their was lots of talk from the MW's about "partners" rather than husbands, I think they thought we were the token lesbian couple Anyway, we were fine and then they showed us the little scales where they weighed the baby and me and my friend started crying, and she wasnt even pregnant!!!

Id quite like a book to read to ds about the baby, has anyone got anything they would recommend. Would like to aviod the carying by the ankles scenario

missnatalie · 15/05/2007 16:13

Just wanted to pop on and wish Kezza good luck for tomorrows scan. Hope all goes well.

Natalie x

Mumpbump · 15/05/2007 16:13

How old is your ds? "Waiting for Baby" and "My New Baby" are picture books without words, but ds is only 15 months...

KezzaG · 15/05/2007 16:22

that MissN, I know it must be hars for you to post on here so I really appreciate it.

ds is 2.5 yrs. We do talk about the baby but quite fancied a book that probably gets his attention more than me He is adamant the baby will be called Colin regardless of whether it is a boy or a girl. I keep finding myself talking about baby Colin to him and I can see this name sticking!

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 16:30

kezza - 'little rabbits new baby' is quite a sweet book. all about little rabbit becoming a big brother. actually, that made me cry when i read it too, and if you ever get round to reading it then you will realise how sad i am for crying at it!

greedygreedyguzzler · 15/05/2007 16:31

my ds wants to call our baby rainbow if its a boy or a girl. not sure what is worse......colin for a girl..........or rainbow for a boy!

WinnieThePooh · 15/05/2007 16:32

Congrats to J2O on the fab scan. Anyone heard from MrsFish yet?

My SIL had a little boy last night so I am excited about that. I want to know the sex of my baby NOW, but will have to waite another 3 weeks until 4th June.

buffythenappyslayer21 · 15/05/2007 16:42

greedy-theyve told us the amount for each item that they are giving us.we still have to put some towards the full cost (£200),but we can afford that, its the other amount (£1000+) taht we couldnt afford!theyve said they are giving us £400 for the washing machine,£320 for the tumble dryer and £350 for the fridge freezer.we also have to get a 5 year warranty with each item, which will add on another £250 on top of the £200 we have to add on,so im hoping that we can get around it without buying the warranty, after all everything has the manufacturers warranty anyway.

good luck to kezza for tomorrow!!xx you should see the boxes piling up under my stairs!!weve roped in bil for when we move to help dh with all the boxes!!!

Pheebe · 15/05/2007 16:42

Hello everyone, I am finally home, did a spot of shopping afterwards...

Congrats J20 on your little girl... well my little one was playing ball and finally gave us a glimpse, although the scan picture is a bit crap, ds's scans were both fantastic, oh well. LO is a right wriggler and everything is in the right place and all the measurements add up so no more checks now until 28 weeks with the midwife.

MrsFish · 15/05/2007 16:47

Oh, I haven't told you the flavour have I? ;)

Its... A BOY I am so chuffed I can't stop smiling
