September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Jfw82 · 26/12/2017 20:47

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

That's good to hear @Fia256. Will get in touch with obstetrician next week. I'm pretty healthy, run and do powerlifting so hopefully will be an advantage. Did u have your kids naturally?

Terriersandtea · 31/12/2017 13:44

What are you all planning on doing about telling people? I would like to tell our parents and very close friends as I don’t know how I’ll keep it a secret and I will want their support if anything goes wrong, but how soon is too soon. We are supposed to be out tonight for NYE and I always have a couple of glasses of prosecco on a night like this so my friends are bound to ask why I’m not drinking. Do I fess up tonight or wait a bit longer. (Im nearly 5 weeks according to my app).

Fia256 · 31/12/2017 13:55

Hp yes both were natural births! There was talk about c section during the pregnancy at some point but I think after my 20w scans I saw the specialist who said they'd just keep an eye. I was nervous about labour but I was totally fine I didn't get one palpitation or anything (from what I remember that is)

Terriers I've been terrible so far! I have told my mum and dad, and DH mum, and his dad and step mum. Then told a few close friends. However with me, because of the eventful year we've had with losses and ttc etc, they all knew pretty much whenever AF was due and I would want their support if it all goes wrong this time too! I trust my friends to keep quiet, so I won't be telling anyone else for quite a while now! Except for my manager who I'll tell next week so that time off for appointments and early scans don't go against me!

CuppaSarah · 31/12/2017 14:08

Honestly I'm keeping as quiet as I can for as long as I can. My family have made it clear as I have a daughter and son I cannot possibly have more children! Plus my mum looses it when I'm pregnant and tries to sabotage everything she can. It's not fun! But she has mh issues and it's just who she is, she can't help it.

Welcome and congratulations hpo first pregnancies are so amazing. I wish I could relive my first pregnancy all over again.

Fell over in the park today. Now walking home covered in mud feeling sorry for myself.

Terriersandtea · 31/12/2017 14:15

Fia how far along are you? I think I may tell a couple of very close friends tonight, I know they will keep it quiet and it will be such hard work keeping it a secret! Plus it will give me an acceptable excuse to go home early as I am sooooo tired this week! Bed by 9 every night so god knows how I’ll make it to midnight!

Terriersandtea · 31/12/2017 14:24

Cuppa oh gosh that sounds pretty awful, I’m hoping I get happy reactions when I tell mine, this is my first so I have no past experiences to base these hopes on Confused. Fingers crossed for you that they are more supportive this time round! X

MonaTheMoaner · 31/12/2017 14:25

My policy is to tell anyone who you’d tell if something went wrong.

Fia256 · 31/12/2017 14:28

Only 4 weeks today so as early as can be! Got my bfp at 8dpo so it's kind of come out over the last few days to the parents and close friends. With my last miscarriage at 5 weeks, I'd spent that first week and half knowing and it felt torturous not telling anyone. Then as soon as I started bleeding I told my friends as needed that support! So I felt like I wished I'd just said something to begin with!

I need to get in to see the gp next week which will require time off work, and then will be given a scan at 6 weeks which again will be during work hours which is why I'm going to tell my manager next week x

Namechangedtoscream · 31/12/2017 14:36

Can anyone recommend a tracker app where you can change your cycle length and it adapts the due date accordingly? All the apps I see presume a 28 day cycle whereas I have a 24-26 day cycle. Thanks.

CuppaSarah · 31/12/2017 14:38

I agree with the tell anyone you'd want the support of in the worst case idea.

Terriers Thank you, it's ok they'll all come round quickly. But it's better for mum not to know for a while to save her and me stress. Plus my sil is getting married around the 14 week mark and I don't want to take any focus from her! She's waited way too long for this for any of the shine to be on anyone else.

blondie1001 · 31/12/2017 16:57

I’ve told far fewer people so far this time and it’s made me less anxious in a weird way. Last time we told all the family including grandparents (not my idea - DH got a bit carried away) and it was a bit stressful having to untell them when I had an mc even though it was great to have their support. This time I’ve just told a couple of close friends and some ladies on my Facebook ttc chat. Although it’s still v early days - I might get excited and tell more people before my scan!

dingdongdigeridoo · 31/12/2017 17:56

Namechanged- I’m in the same boat as my cycle is 34 days. You can work it out on Pregnology, and the Ovia app lets you manually adjust your due date.

Paranormalbouquet · 31/12/2017 20:48

Well my symptoms have entirely disappeared. It’s so frustrating! I’ve told one friend who I know will be helpful if I do miscarry.

Jfw82 · 31/12/2017 20:58

Shall we start ourselves a list to keep a track of ourselves... so say
Name - age - dc# - EDD - team (yellow pink blue)?

For me:

Jfw82 - 35 - dc1- EDD 03/09/18 - team yellow

Good plan Jww82. I was going to start a secret facebook great, but had a tiny bit of breakthrough bleeding and decided I wasn't ready, so this would be a great idea. Paranormal mine are lessening, apart from the over emotionalness. 6 weeks is normally when it hits people, so try not to worry about it too much, way easier said than done of course Confused

Thanks Cuppa I know all this but still find myself worrying constantly! Probably because with my cervical damage I know my chances of getting to term are much lower this time. As well as being older!
