September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Hope everyone had a good evening last night, and happy new year!

I had a horrific start to it. Walking down the stairs to go out for a meal, somehow lost my footing, and went flying. Banged hard onto the stair right onto my coccyx, and then bumped down the next couple. Was in tears for ages as all I could think was please no we've got this far finally!! Thankfully I've had no bleeding or cramping and I pray I won't do. However my coccyx is still in absolute agony! So I think these next few weeks are going to be pretty painful Sad can't believe my luck!!!

Jfw82 · 01/01/2018 07:34

@Fia256 that sounds painful 😖

Done my last CB digital this morning, it has moved onto saying 2-3 so think I need to step away from the tests now!

Hello 2018!

Ooh exciting @Jfw82

I darent use my next cb yet! Only 4 weeks and 1 day so far so think I might wait till either tomorrow or day after!

CuppaSarah · 01/01/2018 08:00

Oh Fia that sounds terrifying, I hope you're not too sore today.

Yay for 2-3 weeks!!!

I stayed up till midnight and don't feel awful for it. I laid on the sofa. Listening to music, watching dh drink the cava I won at the school raffle Envy It was MINE!

Bibijayne · 01/01/2018 08:42

Got a BFP on NYE :)

FannyTheFlamingo · 01/01/2018 09:06

Please can I ask those in the know about how to work out a more accurate EDD??

If I base it on 1st day of last period (24th Nov), EDD is 31/08/18. We DTD on Dec 9th, which was a solid smiley day on OPK. So would that bring my EDD into Sept?

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 01/01/2018 09:38

Can I join? Got my BFP yesterday.

My info is:

Age 33 DC #2 EDD 10/09/18

A secret FB group is a good idea - i'd join after 12 weeks. I'm still in the one I joined when I was pregnant with DD and she's 21 months now. I've even met up with some of the local ladies several times, it's lovely.

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 01/01/2018 09:42

@FannyTheFlamingo Day 1 of pregnancy is the first day of your last period. That's what they'll use and it'll only change if when you go to your first scan baby is wildly bigger or smaller than expected for the scan date

This happened with me with my DD as I have PCOS and irregular cycles, based on the period dates I was 12 weeks but because of the long cycles when they scanned me I was only 9 weeks so I had to go back 3 weeks later. At first scans the baby's size is a very accurate indicator of dates.

If your cycles are normal and regular then the first day of your last period is a pretty safe bet. It's confusing because the first two weeks of pregnancy, you aren't actually pregnant!

Paranormalbouquet · 01/01/2018 09:42

Fia I fell on my arse last week walking on the ice. It’s scary isn’t it, but baby will be well protected.

JFW82 congrats on seeing progression!

Cuppa I went to bed before midnight! Which is slightly pathetic but in my defence I was working all weekend!

Congrats Bibi! When will you be due?

Fanny my LMP was 24/11 also. But usually have 29-30 day cycle and felt I had ovulated on the later side of things so I estimated it for a 30day cycle which means 2nd September. Although given that I’ll need an ELCS and am at risk of early birth I’ll be very pleased to get anywhere near to term!

FannyTheFlamingo · 01/01/2018 10:24

@rabbitsdontlayeggs thank you. I thought that was the case. I should know considering this is DC2.

@Paranormalbouquet my cycles have been all over the place since DD was born, anywhere between 22-38 days, but I'm just feeling this is more of a September baby.

@Bibijayne Congrats!

I'm a bit low on pregnancy symptoms, had a couple of days of light spotting before my BFP so I'm worried. I'm still away with the PILs but will see about getting an early scan when I'm home.

Namechangedtoscream · 01/01/2018 10:25

I like the NHS due date calculator as it let's you adjust your cycle length

How is everyone this morning? Congratulations newcomers!

My boobs are so so painful today to the point I can't have anything touch one of them. I'm not going to complain though as this is a positive sign!

Fia256 · 01/01/2018 10:38

I don't have many symptoms at all yet other than a really spotty face!! I've noticed my nausea peaks in the evening the last two days though!

Other than that, the only thing wrong with me this morning is being in agony still from falling last night! Slightly worried I've fractured my tailbone as I can barely move without pain. And how fun to have to ride this out painkiller free!

Namechangedtoscream · 01/01/2018 10:40

Ouch hope you're ok. If it's still bad tomorrow go to your Drs and get checked/ask about pain relief.

Think that is an updated list!
Fia - hope your coccyx is okay. I fractured mine a couple of years ago and it took an extremely long time to heal although the acute pain went away after two weeks. If that is what you’ve done I’d encourage you to be really careful with it over the next few months - maybe get a special cushion etc. I still have trouble with mine because I wasn’t careful enough in the early days and still have a hairline crack. Hopefully it’s not that though! Confused

MonaTheMoaner · 01/01/2018 12:54

Last night I was in the hospital due to severe pain on one side of the uterus and pain in my shoulder. It’s too early to scan so they took some blood work and I have to go to my GP on Wednesday, explain the situation and ask for a referral to the Early Pregnancy Unit in about a week to rule out an ectopic pregnancy.

This wait is stressing me out, not to mention a lot of my symptoms seem to have disappeared apart from the dull ache in the lower right abdomen. I’m hoping and praying baby is in the right place and all is well as I’ve had no bleeding or other issues but we’ll find out in a week or so.

kirinm · 01/01/2018 13:08

Oh no @MonaTheMoaner so sorry to hear that. I've previously had an ectopic. The EPU will start doing blood tests every 48hrs to see how your HCG levels are rising as in an ectopic pregnancy the levels don't usually double.

If your HCG levels are above 1500, they will be able to see something on a scan. Personally I wouldn't be waiting until weds. And if you're having shoulder pain -I can't imagine you'll be left for any time at all.

Get a referral to the EPU tomorrow.

Namechangedtoscream · 01/01/2018 13:13

Oh @moanathemoaner my thoughts are with you I hope all is well

MonaTheMoaner · 01/01/2018 14:00

How many weeks were you when you found out it was ectopic? The hospital doctor said it would be too early at 4+3 to see anything on a scan before they took bloods so I’m to return on Wednesday for repeat bloods to check the HCG. Unsure why it’s not Tuesday but I’m kind of glad as I’m in London tomorrow.

Fia256 · 01/01/2018 14:04

Oh @MonaTheMoaner sorry you've got this worry Sad I really hope you get the best outcome and all is well, I can't imagine how worried you must be right now!

CuppaSarah · 01/01/2018 14:30

Mona I'm so so sorry you've got all this worry going on. Hopefully Wednesday will come quickly for you and you can get some answers. I am thinking of you and hoping so much for a good outcome. We're all here waiting with you and we're all listening if you need to let your worries out.

kirinm · 01/01/2018 14:43

@MonaTheMoaner I had what was like a period and then got a positive test. After that I started having very dark spotting - looked a bit like prune juice. I was no more than 5 weeks. My HCG levels stayed very low - about 300 and pretty much stayed static. Basically, at all times I was bleeding.

The shoulder tip pain is something I understood to happen when the pregnancy is older (and bigger) so I never experienced it. The only time I experienced any sort of pain, the EPU immediately admitted me.

Once you're in touch with the EPU they do really look after you.

kirinm · 01/01/2018 14:45

I hope this is reassuring but if you had shoulder pain and they really did think it was an ectopic, I think they would've admitted you.

Paranormalbouquet · 01/01/2018 14:56

Mona I’m sorry you’ve had this worry, hopefully it all goes well.

bitzy12 · 01/01/2018 16:58

Hello everyone, happy new year :-) is anyone experiencing sharp pains when lying down? They are in my side, but really really sharp. I’ve just had a nap. Both laid on my side and tummy, when I move there’s a sharp pain in my right side. Anyone else have this? This is baby number 3 so I know what to expect but these pains are sharp x

bitzy12 · 01/01/2018 16:58

Should add I’m 4w+5 xx
