September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

Para I'm really really bloated atm like woah I look heavily pregnant all of a sudden

I'm drinking loads and not weeing as much so that migjt be part of it.

Seeing the mw soon! Eeeeek very excited

CuppaSarah · 09/01/2018 12:34

The dr wants to measure my blood pressure today so he can decide if and when to start me on aspirin. Had to cancel a playdate so dd will be devastated. Didn't realize how terrified I was of getting ill again till he said that.

Fia256 · 09/01/2018 13:15

I'm also very bloated!

Cuppa I will probably end up on aspirin too at some point due to high blood pressure!

Namechangedtoscream · 09/01/2018 13:22

Got twitchy as my symptoms aren't showing today and did a digital i should be about 5+5 but still getting 2-3

September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP
blondie1001 · 09/01/2018 13:37

@Cuppa I was on aspirin the whole time last time and expect to be on it again this time

I'm sooooo bloated too - and why is pregnancy giving me a massive muffin top when my womb is nowhere near the outside of my hips??!!

MermaidCafe · 09/01/2018 13:38

Namechanged try not to worry those things aren't super accurate and you may have ovulated a few days earlier/later which would skew the dates slightly. I honestly think this is the worst part of pregnancy the not knowing. Even sickness doesn't mean all is ok. It's just a waiting game and positive thinking that all is very likely to be fine.
I've booked an early scan for 2 wks time as something to look forward to - I'll be around 7 wks then.

Paranormalbouquet · 09/01/2018 13:57

Namechanged symptoms are very variable, especially at this early stage. Mine are coming and going constantly- range from severe nausea to 100% fine. And I know I’ve been very critical of the digital tests but they really are very unreliable- at 6 weeks normal hcg levels in blood are 1000-57000 and even then 5% of healthy pregnancies fall outside that range.

With DD the CB didn’t change until 7+6. I had a scan at 7+4 and saw a healthy little heartbeat. I’ve stayed well away from the digital this time for a reason!

It’s such a worrying time, I’m incredibly anxious this time around too. All we can do is wait and see really.

Bearsonstairs · 09/01/2018 13:59

@kirinm so pleased to hear that - fx for you and little bean!

I’ve got mild nausea - seems to be caused by both eating and not eating, so I’m going with eating! Don’t think I’ve ever been constipated for this long before - does anyone know if that’s a first trimester thing as well, or for the whole pregnancy?

bitzy12 · 09/01/2018 14:13

Is anyone taking pregnacare? I am and wondered if that could be having an effect on my symptoms - the fact that I haven't really got any.

I know a lot of people say they are crap but they haven't had any effect on me, been taking them for 2 weeks now x

Secondsop · 09/01/2018 14:20

@kirinm 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Secondsop · 09/01/2018 14:23

I have really achy knee joints. Getting to work was a struggle.

Fia256 · 09/01/2018 14:24

@Namechangedtoscream don't worry too much, this happened to me last time! Took ages to get to 3+!

I'm getting really anxious about if I'm having an ectopic! I remember getting these pains last time too and all was well so I'm hoping it's just me worrying! I get the odd pinching pain on my right side. It's not very often, just had it slightly now, last time was probably a few days ago etc. The weird thing was at around 3dpo I thought I hadn't ovulated when I thought as I got a pulsing type pinching pain on that exact side and thought it must have been late ovulation instead. But now I'm worrying what if it was implantation in my tube! I don't have any other symptoms, my test lines got darker nice and quickly and had no spotting but I just can't help but worry!

LostMyBaubles · 09/01/2018 14:36

Fia could just hopefully be normal stretchy/settling pains etc

Had the most unhelpful midwife appt

The mw wasn't going to refer me as I live 15mins away 🤔
In the end she did
Told her about high bp yesterday and the protein in urine but didn't check anything at all
She wasn't even going to refer me to the hosp!
In the end got referral and that was it

Was hoping she would check bp and dip urine

Fia256 · 09/01/2018 14:58

Thanks lost I hope that's the case. I remember googling it at the time, and read that your tubes contract to push the egg through to the uterus so I really hope that's what happened! I just couldn't face an ectopic after everything we've been through already! The good sign is I get the pain on the other side too every now and then! It's just that one time at 3dpo that's worrying me but as I say, hopefully it was them contracting!

Sorry you had a bit of a shitty midwife appointment! So are you being referred for an early scan?

Paranormalbouquet · 09/01/2018 15:45

Blitzy does it have B6 in it? That's meant to reduce nausea. Or you might just be lucky, not everyone has symptoms. Bear I think constipation varies too. I've had the opposite problem I'm afraid. Second that sounds miserable, hope it improves. Fia I've had pinching pains mostly on my right side. I think it's round ligament stretching? Lost that doesn't sound helpful- maybe ask to see GP instead of midwife- make appt as a general BP discussion rather than pregnancy one.

My nausea lifted around lunchtime so had a large plate of noodles which was promptly thrown up. Feel fine now but think little and often is the way to go.

bitzy12 · 09/01/2018 15:57

@Paranormalbouquet yes it does. I usually get hypermesis so i just wondered if this could by a reason why I have no sickness x

Paranormalbouquet · 09/01/2018 15:59

In my first pregnancy I had hardly any nausea whereas this time I have been sick on and off already. It seems very variable even in the same person doesn't it.

LostMyBaubles · 09/01/2018 16:49

Fia nope she didn't! She just referred me to the hosp and gave me a leaflet on screenings then tried to shove her opinion on me about getting them done after I clearly said NO.

rabbitsdontlayeggs · 09/01/2018 17:03

@bitzy12 With my DD 2 years ago I had zero symptoms except I was a bit tired. No sickness, no sore boobs. No sign of pregnancy except the missing period then after about ten weeks a little bump. Had a very healthy pregnancy.

Worried me at the time, now I realise how lucky I was!

I am exactly the same this time round too so far, 5+1 and not a symptom to be found except for feeling more tired than normal.

bitzy12 · 09/01/2018 17:07

@rabbitsdontlayeggs yes it's amazing how pregnancies can differ isn't it? I really am wondering if it's all down to the pregnacare vitamins. I had a miscarriage in May last year with no symptoms but didn't take any vitamins except folic acid. I was expecting the same this time round but did a clear blue digital last night and got 3+ weeks. And today my boobs are sore and I am tired so I'm pleased to have these symptoms. If all is ok and I can manage this pregnancy without hypermesis, that would be absolutely amazeballs xx

CuppaSarah · 09/01/2018 17:11

Saw the most lovely gp today. He had actually taken the time to read my notes and knew how bad I was and about the slight mishandling of my condition last time, apparently how I had it was so rare drs find it fascinating, so hopefully I'll have much better care this time. He was so reassuring and told me to start aspirin at 12 weeks. My bp is average woo hoo!

MonaTheMoaner · 09/01/2018 17:25

I feel really sick on and off but mostly in the evening. I’m anxiously awaiting my scan on Friday when I’ll be 6+1 by my calculations and I’m praying we can see a heartbeat by then. I’m so anxious and scared that things won’t work out as the pulling and pinching pain is still there in my uterus as before but my boobs are still sore which I’m taking as a positive sign.

My sister didn’t get a 3+ on CBD until 6/7 weeks so I don’t think they’re all that accurate.

LostMyBaubles · 09/01/2018 17:34

Cuppa that's fantastic that it's normal!! And that the care will be better this time round!

Mum think I should just pop into epu and speak to the mw at the hosp about urine/bp next time I'm in the area

Shook2018 · 09/01/2018 18:50

Just catching up but @kirinm so happy for you that's amazing news!

Just come back from initial GP appointment - it's a bit deflating isn't it? Took my BP, made me do another urine test, handed some printouts about staying healthy and taking my folics and a 'the midwife will call you in a few weeks'

Anyone else finding it really hard to feel pregnant and get on with life in this limbo 1st tri?

MonaTheMoaner · 09/01/2018 19:35

I am Shook2018. It all feels very real but only to me. DH is acting normally and I’m carrying on with life as usual but I want to scream “I’M PREGNANT” every few minutes and
