September 2018.... still trying to believe it's a BFP

Starting a thread with cautious optimism, BFP on Christmas Eve and again today (on ic, first response and CB digital Blush) If all goes well EDD 3 Sept. this will be DC2 for us, DS is 13 months and completely shocked as this was first month TTC when last time took 6 months. Hope to have some company here soon Grin

If this sticks, I'll have a 22 year she gap!!

FannyTheFlamingo · 06/01/2018 11:05

My oldest DSD is 19. DP thought he was all done after our 13 month old, so he took a bit of convincing to have another.

CuppaSarah · 06/01/2018 11:35

kirin with what you're going through it's not surprise your mind is in overdrive. The bleeding could be a haematoma, my sil had one and has a huge awful bleed in tesco at 11 weeks. She rushed to a and e expecting the worst but all was well and once the bleeding calmed down her pregnancy went fine. It didn't stop her feeling incredibly anxious till she could feel the baby kick though, but who can blame her. 22 years sounds like a pretty good gap, sibling babysitters!

kirinm · 06/01/2018 11:39

Thanks @CuppaSarah my spotting has temporarily stopped. Trying not to get my hopes up.

Just had my first appointment date and scan date through. I'm pretty impressed with what the hospital offer. If the nuchal year comes back with a -:101-1:1000 risk, you're automatically offered the harmony test (for free).

If anyone is in London, my understanding is that Kings take referrals from outside their catchment area. Kyoto's Nicolades is their resident professor and is big on scanning.

kirinm · 06/01/2018 11:42
  • nuchal scan (autocorrect)! I just have to hope I make it that far.
Secondsop · 06/01/2018 11:56

Hi @kirinm I’ll be at king’s too if this one sticks. I was under the care of the antenatal blood pressure clinic run by Mr Kametas and it was exceptional. I will always be incredibly grateful for the care I received from that clinic.

Paranormalbouquet · 06/01/2018 12:03

I’m in London but a long way from Kings. A bit limited choice wise as need to go somewhere with a preterm clinic too so think I’ll be in UCLH. Desperately trying to stop myself booking an early scan next week- it’s probably too early to see anything and there’s a scan booked for 8+3 anyway, when a heartbeat means much better odds.

littlepooch · 06/01/2018 12:05

I will have a very small gap here too. I have 21 months between my eldest two and there will be 12 and a half months between my youngest DD and this one if it sticks 🙈. So I will have 3 under 3.

littlepooch · 06/01/2018 12:06

I saw prof nicolades in my prev pregnancy and he was amazing. I'm too far from kings even though I'm in London but saw him privately and I would do again if I needed to!

SantaBaby1 · 06/01/2018 12:07

I’m thinking of booking a scan for around 8w - I should be able to see a heartbeat by then right?

kirinm · 06/01/2018 12:08

@Paranormalbouquet I've got my follow up scan next Tuesday which I obviously want (I'd rather get bad news out of the way sooner if it's coming) but I know it won't do anything to relieve anxiety because it is still too early to see a heartbeat.

If I hadn't had my bleeding yesterday I planned on waiting to ask for a scan until closer to 7 weeks just to try and avoid the anxiety that not seeing a heartbeat would bring. If I was you, I'd wait a bit longer.

kirinm · 06/01/2018 12:13

@Secondsop I was really impressed with their EPU yesterday. I was expecting to be told to go home and wait and see if I miscarry because I'm still so early but they did a detailed scan and were just so kind and sympathetic.

Secondsop · 06/01/2018 12:43

That’s great @kirinm - fingers crossed it all works out for you.

Namechangedtoscream · 06/01/2018 12:51

It appears I've joined the family club. Went to the Dr for a meds review today and came out with a HG diagnosis due to everything that goes in bouncing straight back out. So I am on cyclizine now. I feel a wuss caving so early given my sister made it to 15 weeks without medication but Dr said the sooner it's in the system the greater the chance of it working. Fingers crossed

Twinkletoes2018 · 06/01/2018 13:00

Hi lovely ladies I've been hoping I'd be able to join this thread it was my first month of ttc #2 and I've just got a bfp! It's super early 6 days pre period on a first response but there's no doubting the line. I was in the dec2016 mumsnet baby thread and I'm now best friends with the mums in our private Facebook group (which we didn't start until after our 20w scans) so I'm hoping that I'll be able to share this lovely journey with you guys if you'll have me in your group!

needahugbug · 06/01/2018 13:02

@Twinkletoes2018 welcome and congrats how do you feel about the age gap? I was in the November 2016 group on here and am slightly worried there being such a small age gap. Ohhh the sleepless night !

Twinkletoes2018 · 06/01/2018 13:14

I'm petrified but I'm 37 this year so didn't want a big gap plus I think just get on with it and it will be fine (prepared to eat my words in 9 months) my most nervous but is that I'll most likely have another c section and I don't think my daughter will understand why I can't lift her for 6 weeks but I'll have to cross that bridge later

Paranormalbouquet · 06/01/2018 13:32

Namechange definitely do what you can to feel better as early as possible. No point suffering needlessly. I’m completely fine today. Not sure if I should worry or not but trying not to! Kirin glad the spotting has stopped, hope it stays away. I’ll probably try to wait it out until 8 weeks as I think I’ll be unreassurable this time anyway given my high risk of loss.

Twinkletoes2018 · 06/01/2018 13:34

@LostMyBaubles I was bumplovin on the jan/Feb bus I name changed as still had my username from the last time I was pregnant. I joined the bus just as you got your bfp hope you're doing well x

Hufflepuffinalltheway · 06/01/2018 13:44

@needahugbug TNB 🙌🏽 It’s Lucy, hello!

Fia256 · 06/01/2018 14:11

Oh my goodness I've just eaten 3 packets of crisps in a row Blush!!! I need to gain some self control or I'll be piling it on this pregnancy 🙈 not normally a crisp fan either! God help me 😂

FannyTheFlamingo · 06/01/2018 14:25

@Twinkletoes2018 congrats! I'm 38 with a 13 month old, so in a similar situation to you. I had a section last time so will probably do so again as well. DD1 is going to hate not having all the attention.

Twinkletoes2018 · 06/01/2018 14:34

@FannyTheFlamingo I'm hoping this pregnancy goes ok had diabetes in my last pregnancy so will need to see gp next week and get some kit to keep an eye on my blood sugars. Think I'll book a scan for 8 weeks too I will be too anxious to wait until 12 weeks. I had some shooting pains mon and tues this week saw gp as I thought I had a uti but my sample clear I rang epu this am to ask about the shooting pains they have said to ring my gp next week and ask for a referral for an early scan and to go to a and e if the pain comes back. I'm hoping it's nothing the pain only lasted a short while but it was agony

LostMyBaubles · 06/01/2018 14:48
