That should say baby moving yet 🤦🏻‍♀️

Heregoeseverything · 09/01/2018 19:30

No - definitely feeling gas though Grin

Daphne33 · 09/01/2018 20:57

@Winterfellismyhome
Where and when is this London baby show? I'd love to go, just to have a look and get a sense of prices and what's available, what to buy etc although I'm not sure I'm ready for any shopping yet (we are hoping to move so I don't want to clutter my current flat up now that it's on the market).

@flatwhite32
Congratulations and what a lovely clear scan! Happy for you. I'm 2 days behind you on the EDD but my scan's not till next Thursday. I'm getting slightly nervous as generally I find my symptoms to be dissipating...(a relief in some sense but also a worry??)

@karategirl @Heregoeseverything
Hope you both are getting better!
I feel generally in such a daze sometimes and I feel you on the gasses! I'm embarrassingly burpy after meals currently, which is a lot better than migraines and nausea that plagued me before Christmas right up till New Year's.

Winterfellismyhome · 09/01/2018 21:13

@Daphne33 its at the Excel centre. Starts weekend of 2nd of March Smile

Winterfellismyhome · 10/01/2018 09:48

Hows everyone feeling? Im 15 weeks today and have felt exhausted for the past 3 days. Also have had a thumping headache 🤕

Heregoeseverything · 10/01/2018 14:59

Hi @Winterfellismyhome, sorry to hear that, I've been getting headaches also, but not to a disabling extent. I'm trying to avoid taking paracetamol but my obstetrician encouraged me to go nuts with it if required! She also said codeine would be safe but again I'm currently holding back in that respect (I have joint pain linked to a chronic condition that has been a little worse in pregnancy and may well get much worse over time).

I've also surprisingly not really suffered with tiredness - I say surprisingly because this is the only symptom that every single pregnant friend ever has had. I do get plenty of sleep mind you (always have needed my sleep!). Maybe it will hit later on. The only time I noticed tiredness was actually in the 2ww, when I couldn't keep my eyes open for several afternoons running and fell asleep on my desk!

I think I must be a born optimist, because every time I throw up I secretly think, "Right, that must be the last time now." ! Threw up this morning just before I had to get on a train, which I count as a win over my previous on-train projectile vomit...! Sorry to the ladies following after me that I can't give you more encouraging news about when this ends, I'm aiming for 16 weeks!

Winterfellismyhome · 11/01/2018 12:40

@Heregoeseverything i know what you mean, not that keen on taking too much paracetamol. Same with sickness! I always speak to soon and think its over then end up spewing everywhere. Had my flu jab today but doesnt kick in for ten days so hopefully wont get it until then

Flatwhite32 · 11/01/2018 17:45

@Winterfellismyhome I was sick this morning (mainly retching though) for the first time in ages! Have been feeling sick still, but I was retching so hard this morning my eyes felt like they would pop out!

InstructionsRequired · 11/01/2018 18:04

@penguinchristmas no movements felt yet (15+1), but hoping they start soon. Still not feeling at all pregnant, just fat and moody Blush Looking forward to hearing heartbeat next week to make it all feel real again, feels a long time since the scan.

To all you poor sickness sufferers, hope you're all out of the woods and feeling better soon. Apparently 2nd trimester is supposed to be the honeymoon period of the whole pregnancy, fingers crossed eh?!

Heregoeseverything · 11/01/2018 20:48

@Winterfell I didn't realise you were a puker! fist bump and @Flatwhite32 didn't realise you were a retcher! fist bump

I have to say that when I told my friends who've had babies that I was pregnant I was expecting to swap war stories on morning sickness but was sorely disappointed! Only one friend vomited more than once, most had mild nausea only, and several had no morning sickness at all, including one who had 5 pregnancies and one who carried twins!

Thanks @InstructionsRequired I'm already in the promised land of the second trimester but someone needs to let my body know...!

Re movements apparently I'm likely to feel them late as I have an anterior placenta... which is annoying as I think it will be really reassuring, it is so hard having to go on faith/hope between scans!

karategirl · 12/01/2018 19:03

@Heregoeseverything I know! There seem to be very few people who actually throw up. I had another lovely puke on the train this morning, and then had to discretely escape from a training course this morning and panic-shuffle around a hotel I'd never been in to find the loo... @Winterfell and @Flatwhite32 you're in sympathetic company!

I hadn't realised how fatigued I had been feeling until about 3 days ago, when all of a sudden I'm awake again. How was I a functional human being?! How was I managing to get to and from work?! I was trying to explain to my friend the other day about the absolute bone crushing exhaustion I've been feeling, and I literally have no words for it.

Scan in the morning - we finally get to see karatebaby tomorrow!!! Grin Massively excited and nervous in equal measure. Also, practical question, how do I know I have a full enough bladder, but won't wee all over the couch as soon as they press on my belly...?

InstructionsRequired · 12/01/2018 20:09

@karategirl I got a letter which recommended drinking a pint of water an hour before the scan. I drink water all day everyday, but still drank my pint of water beforehand as instructed. Got to the appointment, sat waiting for 20 mins with bladder fit to burst and was told by the sonographer to go to the toilet because my bladder was so full she couldn’t see anything... so don’t go crazy!

karategirl · 12/01/2018 21:45

Thank you @InstructionsRequired that's really helpful!

Kitcat159 · 12/01/2018 21:56

I'm due 24th July :)
Just had my 12 week scan and trying to work out if baby "echo" is boy or girl.

karategirl · 13/01/2018 08:27

New lows in the throwing up department when I had to locate the sick bowl immediately after sex... Blush Luckily my husband was sympathetic and found it amusing rather than being offended!

Winterfellismyhome · 13/01/2018 08:34

Good luck for your scan @karategirl

I threw up after brushing my teeth this morning so that was lovely 🤢

Heregoeseverything · 13/01/2018 12:45

Good luck for your scan @karategirl ! And serious credit to you for putting out in your condition, my DH should be so lucky!

Flatwhite32 · 13/01/2018 12:53

@Winterfellismyhome I've gagged a lot while brushing my teeth. I'm on antibiotics for an infection at the moment, and the pills are huge. I gag nearly every time I swallow one!

karategirl · 13/01/2018 16:29

@Heregoeseverything It was the first time in weeks! That'll teach me...

The scan went really well. All very exciting. Due date has been moved forward to 22 July!

And I got measured for new bras today. I've increased from a 34/36 A/B to an almost respectable 36/38 B/C Shock

Hope everyone else is having a good Saturday! Time for me to have a nap now, it's all been a bit much Grin

JulesMcr · 14/01/2018 10:32

Hey everyone! Some friends have recommended I join this group as they found it super useful when pregnant. I’m 13+3 days, and mega excited now I’ve had my scan. Hope you’re all having a great weekend and starting to enjoy feeling less tired? I know I am.

Is there a Facebook group I could also join?

Jules x

lifechangesforeverinjuly · 14/01/2018 12:08

Welcome Julie - I'm also 13+3 today Smile

I just feel like time has stood still, I've got so much to look forward to this year so I just want to get on with it all.

I did buy my pram yesterday though Shock it was in the Mothercare mad sale - a Mamas & Papas Aramdillo Flip with carrycot that should have been upwards of £600 for... £174.50!! The carrycot on its own is £169.

I wouldn't have dreamed of buying pram so early but I couldn't pass that up. MIL also bought an Oyster with carrycot to keep at her house for £130, we got all sorts really.

Fancypants01 · 14/01/2018 14:38

Wow that’s cheap! I’m going to have a look🙈

lifechangesforeverinjuly · 14/01/2018 15:00

We couldn't believe it, we actually went to look for baby monitors that were reduced from £100 to £20 but they didn't have any in the Derby store.

It's the navy blue limited edition one and it's beautiful.

They also had racks of maternity bras reduced from £30 to £6.75 so stocked up there too!

Winterfellismyhome · 14/01/2018 16:29

Is anyone planning on finding out the sex?

Flatwhite32 · 14/01/2018 16:51

Gosh all these sales sound fab. I'm just far too scared to buy anything just yet.

@Winterfellismyhome we will be if we get that far.
