Hi Kitty! You are most welcome here! You already sound like one of us...giving up on queuing and buying chocolate! That's exactly what I would have done! I never go to Primark unless it's during the week and not at lunchtime, the queues are horrendous! I always give up!

I'm really frightened of tens machines bumper! I've never tried one, but I'm scared of those horrid electric shock tummy toning things and I imagine that's what they'd be like! I plan on getting in my pool as soon as my contractions start so they'll be no need for a tens!

Thanks hollyandalice! Am ashamed to say that right now i am eating chocolate fudge cake with cream. Mmmmmmmmmmm.
Baby likes chocolate.

bumperlicious · 21/04/2007 17:36

Hi kittykit, are you a mumsnet newbie? Word of warning, think about your name before you commit! You may have noticed that some of us have started getting bored with our names and changing them at the moment so make sure you are happy with yours! Just realised that bumperlicious isn't gonna work as well after the baby is born. Maybe I'll be fattylicious then!

Seriously though kitty, welcome to the June fold, feel free to come on here and vent, whinge, and ramble on. Hope you like eating, shopping and are ready to give up your life to mumsnet! (Oh yeah, sometimes we talk about babies too!)

H&A, the tens machine freaks me out a bit too, but lots of people swear by it so may give it a go. I'll keep checking out the reviews, but I guess you don't know if it'll work for you till you try.

kittykitt · 21/04/2007 17:41

Yes, am a relative newbie, and addicted already. Choosing a name was hard enough but will bear your words of advice in mind! Shopping and eating? Hell, yeah!

hollyandalice · 21/04/2007 17:49

I'm pretty bored of my name, but can't be arsed to change it! I'll have to change it anyway once bubs is born, I don't want him to feel left out of my mn life!

We love to shop and eat on here kitty! It's def the way forward!

Better not end up having 8 kids then H&A

Speaking of which, for everyone still having baby naming dilemas, someone was telling me yesterday about some people they knew with 8 kids and they called them (in Italian) First, Second, Third, Fourth... you get the picture!

sputnik · 21/04/2007 18:36

Just wanted to remind everyone to copy any posts about the shower onto the shower thread, so that Marslady can get that warm glow of satisfaction she so richly deserves without having to wade through all our drivel

MarsLady · 21/04/2007 18:39

That's right Sputnik........ you tell 'em babe!

foxybrown · 21/04/2007 19:06

I like Kittykit already

except for the fact that you are yet another due before me (mind you, i'm due 29th so...) I just KNOW I'll be late again ...

I bought some desperately unattractive slippers from Ikea for £1.50 for my hospital bag. Found some disposable pants from last time (rustle, rustle). Even found my Lansinoh nipple cream - only opened 2.5 years ago, will it be OK?!

Started decorating the girls room - well, I did some pollyfilla. But am off for my two nights away tomorrow so that'll be it until next week.

Am so tired. Overdid it today with swimming, decorating and cooking a roast. Also slept between a 2 yo and a 5yo, or didn't sleep rather.

No more whinging. Had a lovely night out last night, french restaurant in Chelsea (very posh). The chocolate fondent was orgasmic!

I went to bed at 11 intending to stay up and wait for DP (!), but babysitters were watching end of a film, so he ended up staying there with them and falling asleep. So he's blown his chances for the rest of the year (his birthday isn't til Dec).

foxybrown · 21/04/2007 19:16

Dr Who still scares me

hollyandalice · 21/04/2007 19:20

I'm sure your Lansinoh will be fine foxy. I have some from when my dd was born and I plan on using it. The expiry is June 07, but a couple more months surely won't make any difference! It's bloody expensive, so I'm not buying any more!

You've had a busy day by the sounds of it. Maybe you should spend tomorrow sat in the garden eating ice cream! You don't want to overdo it do you?!

hollyandalice · 21/04/2007 19:22

Well I'm watching that Bear Gryls (or however it's spelt)programme and he just ate a live scorpion. It was gross and way scarier than dr who!!

foxybrown · 21/04/2007 19:24

thanks, H&A! I'm leaving at 10 tomorrow morning to go shopping, lunching then to hotel for pampering. DP seems very confident he is going to manage, and I'm sure he will. The beauty is the cleaners would have been by the time I return, so my house will be clean no matter how little he does!

Blimey, I sound quite posh in this post, spa, cleaners ... ha ha ha if only you knew ...

hollyandalice · 21/04/2007 19:26

You posho foxy!! Hope you have a lovely time, I'm very !!

OP posts:
foxybrown · 21/04/2007 19:29

I've left full instructions for the nanny and chauffer and a meal plan for Cook. Housekeeper may have to wing it, but I'm sure she's capable.

bumperlicious · 21/04/2007 19:35

Ooh, get you with your cleaner and spa foxy. Should you be on the nannies and wet nurses thread?

You know we are all just jealous! I'd love to have a cleaner!

Hope you enjoy your spa anyway, you deserve the break. here's us worrying about having our first baby and you have all your other little sproglettes to worry about!

Have we had a name discussion on here yet?

Our top names are boys: Noah, Leo, Jude, Finlay
and girls: Lila, Darcey, Madison, Rowan, Sapphire (that's mine - DH not fussed on that one)

fatcatkin · 21/04/2007 19:47

Bumper, I love your boys names - We have a Noah in the family already, Leo was a definite possibility and I liked Jude but DH wasn't keen. Finlay is too similar to our surname otherwise it would have been on our list. My friend's little girl is called Rowan - It's a gorgeous name! Lila is lovely too.

Very of foxy and her incredibly poshfancy life!!

fatcatkin · 21/04/2007 19:48

And forgot to say that Darcey, Madison and Sapphire are lovely too!!!

fatcatkin · 21/04/2007 19:59

Where has everyone gone?

annobal · 21/04/2007 20:16

Foxy - have a great time tomorrow. Sounds wonderful! Just make sure the staff don't take too many liberties while you're away

Bumper, I love the names. Our top for boys (as we are having a boy) are Charles (Charlie), Henry, Gilbert.

Haven't gone through what I've missed today. Hope you are all enjoying the sun - looks like another nice day tomorrow.

justbeme · 21/04/2007 20:17

How much is Lansinoh cream nomrmally? Is that the one in the blue box??
I must start thinking about a hopsital bag too.

foxybrown · 21/04/2007 20:20

Went for a shower. How are you Catkin?

Don't be jealous! I'm often on my own with 3 (nearly 4 YIKES) 5 and under, I'd be a screaming wreck if I didn't have any help whatsoever. 2 hours a week of cleaning = saving a fortune in future family therapy. Both our families live at least 4 hours away (not that I'm complaining about THAT!)

And I'm using the money the insurance company gave me for a new carpet in the kids room for my spa break promise you won't say anything ...

Love those names. I'm settled on Eve. Might nick Lila off you tho!

annobal · 21/04/2007 20:21

Didn't you go out for dinner last night as well Foxy? Is there a special ocassion?

foxybrown · 21/04/2007 20:21

Its about a tenner for lansinoh, but it lasts for ages, and does a great job on cracked nipples and heels too! I think its worth it. The breast pads are good too. I'm waiting for Holly to find us a promo code for it...

annobal · 21/04/2007 20:23

Lansinoh cream is £9.95 on the NHS website (you can also pick up the breast pads while you're there. Their delivery is pretty reasonable. Or you can just get it from Mothercare...
