How long did it take for everyone to get their screening results back? Had scan two weeks ago but still not heard which I'm hoping is good news

sausagerollsrock · 18/12/2017 15:26

Hi relax I've had to have the quad screening (blood test) which I had last Monday and I'm still waiting for results! Guessing what with Xmas post it's taking a bit longer. I'm 17 weeks tomorrow so desperate to know if all is ok. I'm also holding on to no news is good news.

ElizabethLemon · 18/12/2017 16:22

Hi all, just checking in. I’m 16 weeks today, had the midwife around this afternoon and had bp, urine etc. done and got to hear the baby’s heartbeat again.

I’m still feeling pretty ropey, on and off nausea and absolutely shattered. I’m hoping it won’t be long until I’m feeling a bit more human!

Hope everyone else is doing well ☺️.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 18/12/2017 16:59

My screening results came back over 2 weeks after my 12w scan Relax , although at the scan i was told i wouldnt even recieve a letter, just a phonecall if it was high risk results.

ClareB83 · 18/12/2017 18:37

Just had such a nice pregnancy massage. Ahhhhhhhh 😴

Good morning ladies,
I hope your all Ok?

@sleeeeepy I believe Primark maternity keying but the thicker ones that look as of they are lycra but they are now.

As for results my first midwife appointment bloods still haven't come back but apparently I was told no news is good news.

I had my cervical scan yesterday I feel great relief as it is firmly closed and measuring at a good length. I just have to have one more cervical scan at 22weeks and if there is still no change I won't need another. My worry is over.

And the best news of all I found out from the scan yesterday I'm having a GIRL😍🤗.

Have a great week ladies😊

ElizabethLemon · 19/12/2017 18:06

@Mummyloves09 that’s lovely, congratulations.

I’ve got a really horrible cold and cough. My ears and throat are agony and the pain is radiating through my jaw, it’s awful! I’ve been taking paracetamol but does anyone have any pregnancy friendly ideas for cold relief?

SylvesterTheCat · 20/12/2017 10:13

Oh ElizabethLemon you poor thing. I've had a super sore throat since yesterday too (but you really don't sound too good Thanks).
I've had a spoonful of Manuka honey and poured some boiling water with a squeeze of whole lemon & honey too. I'm not sure if this will do anything but I really don't want to take any medication if I can avoid it (is paracetamol ok in pregnancy?). I'm carrying around a hot water bottle with me too.

Can you rest or are you working/Christmas preparing etc?

Drink loads and loads of water and stay warm.

GeekyHybrid · 20/12/2017 10:23

Hi everyone, would it be too late to join the group? I'm only just getting my head around the idea that this pregnancy actually has a chance of coming to fruition. I have an EDD of 14.6 according to the 12w scan. I already have a boy who will be 3 in February, he arrived on his due date. Funnily enough today is the day he should've been a big brother but I mc'd in May hence being slow to start thinking it might actually be happening. Hopefully I'll relax after the 20w anomaly scan. Currently I'm on the sofa with a cold but my child is going to need entertaining soon :-/

ClareB83 · 20/12/2017 10:27

Of course you can join @GeekyHybrid! Congrats on getting through the first 12 weeks!

And to everyone with colds - I hope you feel better soon and yes you can take paracetamol.

GeekyHybrid · 20/12/2017 10:38

Thank you @ClareB83

As for cold remedy I just drink lots of hot ribena for the sore throat and it's comforting. Hubby's gone back to bed having taken ALL the drugs. I'd feel better if I killed him ;-)

Lulu298 · 20/12/2017 10:52

Sorry to hear people are poorly with horrible coughs and colds. Sad

Congrats geeky and welcome. Sorry to read about your miscarriage. I hope today isn't too bad. Have you got a date for your 20 week scan yet?

We went for a follow-up scan today as the baby was in the wrong position at the 12 week scan. Edd has moved forward by a week to the 1 June.

Also, we were sure we saw something that made us think we were having a boy - there seemed to be a codpiece between its legs! Has anyone had a boy and seen something similar on their scan?!

SylvesterTheCat · 20/12/2017 11:22

The Ovia app mentioned at 15 weeks we might be more prone to nose problems and allergies. I wonder if this is contributing to the flurry of colds we're having.

ElizabethLemon · 20/12/2017 11:36

Thanks @SylvesterTheCat I’m going to make some lemon and honey. Midwife said that paracetamol is fine as long as you take the recommended dose and try not to take it for too long. Lemsip is a no go as apparently decongestants are dangerous in pregnancy.

I’m off work today and had so much planned but am stuck in bed instead. Then I’m working up until Saturday evening 😖.

Haha @Lulu298 when we had our 20 week scan with dc1 I didn’t need the sonographer to tell us the sex as it was pretty obvious we were having a boy!

SylvesterTheCat · 20/12/2017 12:12

Wow thanks ElizabethLemon- Lemsip was going to be my next stop so thank you so much for he heads up- I had no idea.
Hope the cold eases up for you soon.

xxmissbrightsidexx · 20/12/2017 12:14

I just had my scan. Sonographer was happy with all the measurements and said everything looked present, but will be going over the chambers of the heart and everything again at the 20w scan. Rubbish pics cos kept on wriggling and looked like bubs was facepalming lol. Sonographer thinks its a boy 💙 Due date still 7th june, 15w 6d x

Lovely 😊 @xxmissbrightsidexx

Lulu298 · 20/12/2017 13:59

Has anyone started to think about names yet?!

Lizwilkinson88 · 20/12/2017 15:47

I'm 16+4 and started thinking a bit about names but it's sooo hard!

GeekyHybrid · 20/12/2017 17:09

Thanks @lulu298, today's mostly been about the cold, tissues and trying to stop my boy bouncing on me! 20w scan is 25th Jan and I've got the consultant early Jan due to being old - over 40 it turns out there's loads of extra appointments.

Glad you had a good scan @missbrightside, a wrigglers a good sign of health, and a pummelling later! My boy's still a wriggler, incapable of sitting still, bless him.

makeitpink · 20/12/2017 17:13

12+5 scan! Any guesses on gender?!

Mummyloves09 · 20/12/2017 20:37

Good evening ladies

Sorry to hear a few are unwell with flu like sicknesses. I hope it gets better soon.

@xxmissbrightsidexx we are due dates buddies 😊 I'm 7th June to

I have had aching pains in my lower back and lower Tummy. But guess it's just changes in my body.

Can't wait for January I think time is gonna fly by....

CrmbleBee · 21/12/2017 02:22

Hi Makeitpink! Marking this thread again, was on it in its first iteration! What happened to the google doc?

Harri161 · 22/12/2017 20:35

Hi everyone,

I'm new on here. I'm expecting my first in 17th June. I'm so excited and equally as nervous after a MC in march this year. I'm thrilled that I've now been for my 12 week scan (a couple of weeks ago) and everything was fine. It was so incredible to see my baby wriggling and see its little heartbeat. I'm just so excited now and can't wait for June.

Harri x

Hi Harry, what a lovely photo! One of babies is a total poser but the other is such a wriggler I keep getting photos of his hands on his face or just an arm and bum!

I'm due 1st June so 17 weeks today. Looking forward to 20 week scan in the new year, feels like a big milestone.

Congrats!
