Keeping well here 16+6, few flutters but huge bump looks ridiculous for so early but my stomach muscles are shot to pieces from previous pregnancies, went to buy some bio oil earlier in supermarket as running low it was £21!!! Wtf?! Am going to get a smaller bottle in boots instead as at least I can use my points for it! Money grabbing arseholes Angry

Mummyloves09 · 15/01/2018 12:53

@intelinside going Morocco sounds amazing, i was there summer gone and loved every second of it.
@Honeybee92 I actually now have started to get Braxton hicks, to add to my tummy pain now.
@cookie1831 I have found bio oil sometime cheaper on Amazon if that helps. And I second you, my tummy is massive to the point my 8 year old said " mummy your tummy is so big....hmmm there must be lots of water in there."
Glad to hear everyone and bump is ok

ClareB83 · 15/01/2018 13:15

I've heard Avon tissue oil is a good alternative to Bio Oil and much cheaper. You can buy online if you don't have an Avon lady.

Does Bio Oil work to prevent stretch marks or just to treat them? I'm pretty sure I'm going to get them no matter what I do!

Heregoeseverything · 15/01/2018 15:51

@Intelinside I'm calling my additional belly fatness a bump whether it counts or not!!

ElizabethLemon · 15/01/2018 17:21

Christ @Cookie1831, I remember it being pricey 7 years ago when I was pregnant with ds but not 20 quid! I was lucky and didn’t really get any stretch marks last time, I’m hoping I’m still stretched out from then so will avoid them again 😳.

Who else has their 20 week scan this week? Mine is on Wednesday. I’m feeling really nervous but excited at the same time. My husband was home today so we did a bit of a clear out and got out all the baby bits we’ve kept to check everything was there/working. It made me feel really anxious all of a sudden that something will go wrong. My husband also assembled the 2nd hand pram we bought as it’s been hidden under the bed for weeks and not checked. I’ve asked him to disassemble it and put it away but he hasn’t yet so i just keep staring at it 🙄.

Mummyloves09 · 15/01/2018 17:37

@Elizabethlemon I wish my scan was this week. Unfortunately it's on 29th 😑 when I'm 21w 4d.
Good luck with your scan I'm sure all will be ok but I get the worrying part as well.

Random thought, got the pram on the weekend opened boxes just to check colour matches (carry cot and pram system). Should I assemble to make sure it's all there?

ElizabethLemon · 15/01/2018 17:46

@Mummyloves09 check it at some point just in case there’s a problem but you’ve got a bit of time yet. I actually asked my husband not to put it together, popped to the neighbours and when I got back he was sitting there proudly with it all assembled. I want it put away because it takes up loads
of space plus I expect the cat will be in it soon!

Cookie1831 · 15/01/2018 17:52

mummy you are right much cheaper on amazon great shout!
I used it with my 2 previous and only have 2 of the tiniest stretch marks so am assuming it did work? Although given the size of me already think this time I am going to be way bigger so probably will get more

Northernbeachbum · 15/01/2018 18:30

@ElizabethLemon I'm already getting nervous for my 20 week scan and it's not until next week, we had a private scan at Christmas as a little treat but it's not stopping the nerves

I've banned myself from getting excited until after 24 weeks but I keep finding cheap prams in Jan sales, how far have you all got with purchasing bits?

Mummyloves09 · 15/01/2018 18:38

@Nothernbeachbum i have got most things apart from bath, clothes, nappies and wipes. But I'm really nervous about not being prepared and then it makes my naturally over prepared.
To ask what bottle brand anyone has thought of?

ClareB83 · 15/01/2018 18:41

We've bought pushchair, car seats and will probably order cots tonight. Plus some sheets, blankets etc in the Aldi Baby event.

And I'm planning on breastfeeding but if not I was intending to use Maria anti colic bottles.

Northernbeachbum · 15/01/2018 20:14

Ooh, I might see if I can convince dp to get the pram after the 20 week scan then. It's the only big thing we need to buy. I wasn't sure if it was too soon just in case

I've been gifted tommee tippee and

Northernbeachbum · 15/01/2018 20:15

Oops.....and advent bottles so will be using them seeing as they're new and unused Smile

Sleeeeeepy · 15/01/2018 20:27

@Mummyloves09 We use Dr Browns, a few people recommended them last time as the only ones which really help with colic and they were fab for us.

Sleeeeeepy · 15/01/2018 20:32

@Cookie1831 Aldi do an own label version called re-gen oil, it smells different but it otherwise the same and much cheaper. If you can't get to Aldi you can get it on Amazon

Intelinside · 15/01/2018 21:45

Tell me more about the Aldi baby event!!

ElizabethLemon · 15/01/2018 22:24

@Northernbeachbum yep I had a quick scan at the beginning of December but it doesn’t help with the anxiety does it!

We used Dr Browns last time when we switched to formula and they were pretty good but funny looking! I’m going to try and BF as long as possible this time after really struggling with my ds, I gave up quite easily I think.

So far we’ve bought pram/pushchair and clothes. But we already have a crib and a few other bits. Only big thing left is a car seat and I’d like a decent sling too. I’m not buying anything else for a while now! Although if all is well on Wednesday I’m sure I’ll end up ordering a couple of things.

ElizabethLemon · 15/01/2018 22:28

@Northernbeachbum sorry I was agreeing with the extra scan not helping with feeling nervous. It sounded like I was telling you off in my last post 😂.

Cookie1831 · 16/01/2018 07:58

Thanks sleepy xx

Mummyloves09 · 16/01/2018 08:58

Yh the only reason I got bottles is to express. I got mam Bottles saw some good reviews.

ClareB83 · 16/01/2018 09:32

@Intelinside the Aldi baby event is a bunch of special buys for babies and toddlers eg Moses baskets, stair gates, blankets, towels, muslins, sleep bags, nursery furniture (based on the Royals stuff apparently), books etc

It started online on Sunday and is in store on Thursday.
