@Sylvesterthecat I am alot better thank you, I guess it's due to lots rest alongside lemon and honey tea.

Yeah working within a school can bring lots of colds etc.

thepatchworkcat · 07/01/2018 08:43

GeekyHybrid and others - I never glowed or got back loads of energy in my second trimester either and got very annoyed seeing that in all my books! There’s no sign of it happening this time either - I’m absolutely shattered all the time no matter what I do and everyone keeps telling me how pale and wiped out I look!

Is anyone else feeling huge? Second baby and my bump already seems enormous Blush It’s a good thing everyone knows as there’d be no hiding it now!

Intelinside · 07/01/2018 10:12

I don't have a bump really. I know it's there as I can feel it but people just think that I've put on weight over Christmas annoyingly!

ElizabethLemon · 07/01/2018 11:11

My skin and hair were lovely during my 1st pregnancy and people did comment. This time not so much! My hair isn’t as lank and horrible as the 1st trimester but isn’t thick and shiny. My skin! I get hormonal spots around my chin, usually when my period is due but I’ve had them continuously since i found out about this pregnancy. I also keep sprouting whiskers 😳.

@thepatchworkcat yes my 2nd pregnancy too and you can definitely tell I’m pregnant, whereas with my 1st I don’t think I started showing until past 20 weeks. I’m 19 weeks now and have looked 7 months pregnant for a while!

thepatchworkcat · 07/01/2018 11:20

Thanks ElizabethLemon glad it’s not just me! I’m sure I was barely showing at this point last time!

Shutupanddance1 · 07/01/2018 11:29

Another second time Mammy who has been showing for last 3 weeks - I’m now 18 weeks so it’s all going so fast! I have put on weight but meh, I’m sure it’ll come off after.

Found out we are having another girl so don’t have a stitch of clothing to buy as they will both be summer babies..

ElizabethLemon · 07/01/2018 12:03

Ah congratulations @Shutupanddance1 that’s lovely. I can’t wait to find out what we’re having this time, 10 days until my next scan!

Last time I was convinced I was having a boy (and secretly wanted one) and I was right. This time I have no feeling either way and will genuinely be delighted with a boy or a girl.

Intelinside · 07/01/2018 12:33

I still don't have my 20 week scan date :( I'm due on the 10th June. Those of you that have had the scan, what date are you due?

Mummyloves09 · 07/01/2018 13:12

Hey ladies,

Second pregnancy here and the bump is there for all to see.

My scan is on the 29th jan where i will be 21w 4d. My due date is 7th June.

Has anyone else been having numerous nose bleeds daily?

Also feeling alot more movement which is nice.

ClareB83 · 07/01/2018 13:15

My scan is 10th when I'll be 19+5.

I've been getting small nosebleeds after blowing nose (with this never ending cold).

thepatchworkcat · 07/01/2018 13:15

Intelinside I’m due 8th June and scan booked for 25th Jan when I’ll be just under 21 weeks.

Intelinside · 07/01/2018 13:24

Hopefully my date will come through soon!

Shutupanddance1 · 07/01/2018 13:52

@elizabethlemon - I’m always very envious of people who can ‘feel’ what they are having, with both my pregnancies I didn’t have a clue, at all Blush We would have been delighted with either but it will be lovely to be going back to vaguely familiarity when DD2 comes along!

@intelinside my due date is 15th June, I live abroad tho so not sure how 20 week scans go in UK atm.

Alice0906 · 07/01/2018 14:43

Wow, it’s been busy on here over the holidays!

Our hospital books the 20 week scan when you’re there for the dating scan, so we’ve had the date for weeks. It’s gone quickly with all the distractions of Christmas, New Year and birthdays, but now I’m getting impatient. It’s on the 15th, so only 8 days to go. Due 6th June, so I’ll be 19+5.

I was showing slightly at Christmas, and now it’s REALLY obvious. Only my first pregnancy too. I am petite though (5’ 1”, size 8 and very small torso) so I guess outwards was the only way to go! Good timing in a way, I got some lovely maternity clothes from dm and dh for my birthday a few days ago. :)

Intelinside · 07/01/2018 14:46

My area is done differently. You just wait for the date in the post! I've called to chase but they are delayed because of "Christmas". It must be such a surprise when that comes around every year!

GeekyHybrid · 07/01/2018 17:38

Those of you looking for maternity clothes at bargain prices, I got 4 tops at New Look for £13 today Smile

thumbelina03 · 07/01/2018 19:02

@Alice906 how is the maternity clothes sized from those stores? I'm 5ft and struggling to find clothes that fit properly.

georgie262 · 07/01/2018 19:26

What was the quality like@Geeky? I ordered some maternity clothes from asos one was a Breton t shirt from new look and the fit was great and it was practically see through - I sent it back 😢

Alice0906 · 07/01/2018 19:40

@thumbelina03

I got some nice dresses from JoJo Maman Bebe, I found the lengths varied quite a bit from one style to another, so worth trying a few things on if you have a store near you. If you’re looking online, the maternity/nursing dress that is mid thigh length on the model is knee length on me!

Jeans are a nightmare, but I’m fairly competent at sewing, so will just take them up.

I got a bundle of H&M dresses cheap on eBay, one of those was quite short on me Shock
If you don’t mind getting things second hand ebay is great for maternity clothes.

Mummyloves09 · 07/01/2018 20:53

I also got all my maternity wear from ASOS. But it was all their maternity brand however they were in the sale and got alot for £80.
I don't plan on buying anymore maternity wear now. I will just make do with what i have, mix and match etc

Northernbeachbum · 08/01/2018 12:20

I got some very comfy maternity jeggings from m&s......I may never go back to normal ones Grin

Had 16 week midwife appt today at 18 weeks, seemed a bit of a pointless one really......do they get more useful?

georgie262 · 08/01/2018 17:12

They keep an eye on your bp keep you in regular contact with mw. I was supposed to book 18 week appointment for last week but it was Christmas hols and my anomaly scan is next week so I don't see the point especially as I'm consultant led at the hospital so I'm not going to book one 😱

Cookie1831 · 08/01/2018 19:47

It’s to check BP make sure no glucose in your wee and also check in how you are emotionally and mood wise I think. It’s mgood if it is your usual midwife as you do build up a good relationship but often it’s different midwives of the same team but I always thought was good to meet them all as you never know who will be staring at your lady bits post nasally checking your stitches Blush

Cookie1831 · 08/01/2018 19:55

Natally!

SylvesterTheCat · 08/01/2018 21:32

@Mummyloves09 and @ClareB83 I've been getting nose bleeds too, on the odd occasion I need to blow my nose. I haven't got a cold (but bracing myself for flu-like symptoms now, as I had my jab today!) but find lately I need to sniff a lot, especially when I'm eating, for some odd reason (there's not much in my nose that needs to be 'sniffed'- it's a bit odd).
