Mummyloves09 · 09/01/2018 10:14

Hey ladies,

I hope you are all well.

How is everyone managing work wise? Do you feel sluggish at work? Any tiredness?
How are you all coping?

It could just be me 😔

Just a bit down today. Tired, headache and i just wanna cry (for no specific reason).
Taking leave is not an option as we had to prebook our annual leave in December for 2018 to have it guaranteed.

georgie262 · 09/01/2018 10:52

@Mummyloves09 I'm okay but I'm part time since my second child so I work Monday Wednesday Friday and only in term time. Today's my day off so I've dropped my eldest off at school and sat on the sofa drinking tea and watching paw patrol with my 2 yo. It's tough though when things get on top of you and you just feel fatigued. Where do you work? Is it office based? Have you had a work space assessment? I had to split up a fight at school before Christmas because I hadn't told work I was pregnant 🤰

ClareB83 · 09/01/2018 10:56

I feel a little bit CBA but otherwise just general January/winter tiredness I think.

Although my hip went funny for about half an hour yesterday and I was worried I wouldn't be able to get home. My existing dodgy knee is also playing up at night and keeping me awake. I think it might be time for more pillows.

We have almost two weeks off at the end of the month tho for the wedding and honeymoon and that is keeping me going. That and the boys seem to like wriggling when I'm at my desk 😍

Ooooh what a lovely end to January @ClareB83

Northernbeachbum · 09/01/2018 12:23

@mummyloves09 I'm full time working and I am field based, covering almost the entire country......I'm struggling a bit with tiredness and just uncomfy when driving but I'm trying to not complain for now

Mummyloves09 · 09/01/2018 12:24

I have a desk job and have had no risk assessment done. I guess my boss doesn't really care enough to be fair.
@Clare you must be so excited. Wedding and honeymoon 😊

Mummyloves09 · 09/01/2018 14:00

@northernbeachbum I'm really trying not to complain too. However today has just been extra shitty but by tomorrow I should be better. It's my day off. Just a day in bed other than school run.

Cookie1831 · 09/01/2018 17:34

I work 30 hours a week and it’s busy and stressful at times, no risk assessment but I did tell line manager early as in medical field and chance of exposure to infectious disease. I so cannot be bothered with work as an tired cold and grumpy but think that is mainly due to January and it being so busy hoping I will perk up in spring...

ClareB83 · 09/01/2018 21:02

Thanks yes, we're very excited. Less than three weeks til our wedding day. Ordered my bouquet today! And my wedding dress arrived! Having first fitting next week, as there's no point doing it early with a growing bump.

Cookie1831 · 10/01/2018 11:10

Ah that is so exciting! Are we allowed a photo? Can we all go virtual hats?
Someone just asked me “how far along are you? 7months??” Um no just 4 but thanks Confused

ClareB83 · 10/01/2018 13:05

I'm sure we can manage a photo or two of the wedding!!

Indeed here's a couple from today. Both boys doing well, although the hospital have changed their mind and think they might be identical. So even more scans!

I've got to wait until 13th Feb for my 20 week scan. Due at the end of June though, just feels a long way off before I see a midwife again! (I had my 16 week scan early).

We're keeping the baby's sex a surprise, but I'm very keen to see the little one wriggling around again! Also can't wait to feel it moving for the first time. Have you all had your first flutters? If so, when were they?

I'll be 16 weeks tomorrow and I'm certainly feeling a bit round! Although to anyone who doesn't know I look like I've had a big meal... I got a few lovely maternity dresses in the Mothercare sale because they were so cheap, but they're tucked away in the back of my wardrobe until I've grown. For now it's leggings everyday!

I also had my first yoga class yesterday - regular class but with a teacher who tailored everything to my pregnancy. It was wonderful! Certainly worth trying for those who need time to turn their brain off or fancy a good stretch of the hips!

HoneyBee92 · 10/01/2018 13:08

Beautiful scans @ClareB83 !

ClareB83 · 10/01/2018 14:03

Thanks @HoneyBee92. I first felt them kick around 15 weeks but I think theres less room with two of them in there. In the last week or so it's got a lot more frequent.

Mummyloves09 · 10/01/2018 14:05

@ClareB83 lovely pics. Glad to hear your babies are well.
This is so exciting 20 week scans are here!!! I think you are the first one(ClareB83)
How far along are you?

ClareB83 · 10/01/2018 14:38

I'm 19+5. Due on 1st June.

And yes they're finally here!

@clareb83 must have been great seeing them!

ElizabethLemon · 10/01/2018 16:34

Lovely @ClareB83!

@HoneyBee92 I’m 19+3 and have been feeling the baby moving about for roughly 3 weeks. It’s my 2nd pregnancy though.

Heregoeseverything · 10/01/2018 17:17

Hi all,

I hope you don't mind if I pop in here - I'm already on the July 2018 thread with an EDD of 7 July 2018 but (1) I'm having a Caesarean which means my actual due date may well be at the end of June and (2) I'm interested in the symptoms lying just ahead of me, whereas most people in July are behind me!

May I ask if anyone who had full-on morning sickness (all-day nausea, some vomiting but not hyperemesis) has come out of it yet?! I'm 14+4 and hadn't envisaged my head spending quite so much time in toilets at this stage...! If anything it's got worse over the past fortnight.

Re nosebleeds I have had 4 since becoming pregnant (last one before pregnancy was at school when someone threw a ball at my face) - worst one so far was this week at work on a cream carpet... Blush

thepatchworkcat · 10/01/2018 17:37

Heregoeseverything I was very sick (but not HG) but got a lot better at 13 weeks. I’m 18 weeks now and still occasionally sick or nauseous if I get too tired but on the whole I’m much better. I think having time off work while I was sick helped it shift earlier. I had 5 weeks off altogether. In my first pregnancy I was very sick but mostly kept working full time as a teacher and felt awful up to about 18 or 19 weeks. So I really think resting helped. Are you working or have you been able to take time off? I hope you feel better soon, it’s grim.

Heregoeseverything · 10/01/2018 18:06

Thanks so much @thepatchworkcat . I'm not really able to take time off but luckily I have been able to spend most of my time working from home. This has really helped - I only realised how much when I had to work from the office one week and found that everything escalated rapidly, I was vomiting on trains on the way in which was very grim (including once where I had no receptacle to catch it - that was a low point for me and all of the other passengers I imagine Blush ) ! If I'd had to go into the office (or even move much from bed!) every day I think I would have been vomiting every day since week 7 or so, so I consider myself extremely fortunate in that respect. Slightly less fortunate in the respect that I am still vomiting roughly every 48 hours in week 15, but with an overarching sense of good fortune at having got this far in the pregnancy, touch wood!

thepatchworkcat · 10/01/2018 18:21

Oh well I hope it continues to get better. Rest as much as you can! This time round I’m only working part time thankfully - I’m sure if I was full time I’d be a lot more poorly still!

PJsAndProsecco · 11/01/2018 10:56

Hello ladies can I join? I'm 16+5 due 23rd June with baby number 2. Seeing midwife this afternoon for 16 week appointment and 20 week scan 5th Feb!

ClareB83 · 11/01/2018 12:31

Of course you can @PJsAndProsecco, welcome!
