weeonion - so jealous that ur 2cms already and you've had a sweep AND your engaged! grrrrr. looks like you're gonna go before me then weird how both beans are back to back tho (???) i've been having cramps all F**king morning and nothing has come of it. I HAVE TO WAIT A WEEK 4 MY SWEEP!!! wish they could've offered one today (sigh) and and i'm eating like a pig too so dont worry xx

zazas · 18/04/2007 14:51

Hi weeonion - looks like we are at the same stage - 2cms dilated / engaged / ripe and thinned out cervix! It has been 29 hours since my sweep - you think it can take up to 72 hours????? Have another one tomorrow but have to go to the maternity unit to be monitored. I think I have done my time at home now - I can honestly say that it seems like the first time in about 9 years that I am not rushing around like a blow fly - maybe I should sit still and reflect what has gone on over my thirties before it all starts being hectic again and I head towards my forties!

I am off to walk to school - always feel that it might help bring on labour - kids are concerned that my waters will break and all their friends will think I have wet myself!

Congratulations to everyone again (sorry I can't do you all personally.
Don't have time for fire works at the moment will have some big ones for everyone soon.

Zed got weighed the other day and had only put on 2oz in a week(not good) so have been pumping my boobs like mad and sitting with him for a hour each night to attempt to get him latching on, had a word with mars and she has given me a plan of action which hopefully will work, it all depends on DH.

glad you are doing better ooooggs, if you want to chat at any time email me and we can swap number's and compare notes.

I really hope the rest of you are doing well, you will have to forgive me for being so vague at the moment with the chat, still completely fraggled but beginning to feel a bit more in control (sort of)
I am thinking of you all and good luck to all who are still to give birth.

LOVE YOU ALL HUGS]]]]]]]

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/04/2007 16:24

Hello twin mummies - lovely to see you both.

WO, that all sounds great news for you. How on earth can you walk 3 miles tho? I have trouble walking up and down the stairs!

Mammyjo, the tea and biscuits were lovely thanks, and I had a Fab ice lolly!!

Ellie, what's all this about treacle on the nips then!

weeonion · 18/04/2007 16:25

treacle on nips?? eh?? what does this do - is it for bubbas or dps?

geordiemacminx · 18/04/2007 16:30

EllieKthePA · 18/04/2007 16:38

Katy and her treacle

I must say I agree with you Katy, my sister sent me a tube after i'd bought one and I had to open both to make sure it should be like that!

Didn't like to say on the other thread but I was using it as a lip balm - had read somewhere (prob here) that it's really good. Took me half an hour to separate my lips!

Katy44 · 18/04/2007 16:44

Still don't like the thought of that sticky stuff all over me, but I suppose the trick is just not to use too much (and only use it where it's intended!!)

EllieKthePA · 18/04/2007 16:47

i'd read that too Katy, was gonna try using it as lip balm last night but forgot, glad i did now

it does seem to really help with feeding tho, the difference between feeds where i've used it and ones (like right now) where i'd forgotten, is amazing!

Hi all, have caught up but now only have time for quick post then have to go do tea. Have been trying to keep busy today, we took a load of stuff to tip, bought a new washing line and sand pit for kids and i have mown the lawn! Dont know if it will help but got to be better than sitting around doing nothing. One of the mums at playschool said it looked like id dropped alot which was nice to hear, i think i have but and feels like he's very low but good to hear it from someone else.

Good luck to everyone else who things seem to be happening for and and to all who need them

Hi everyone,

Just a really quick post to say hi and send everyone labour vibes who want them! Am looking forward to lots of announcements soon.

My Mum and Dad arrived from Aus this morning - Dad is napping on my sofa and Mum has been on hold with BA baggage for 40 mins trying to track down their 2 lost suitcases - perfect time to sneak off and catch up on MN!

Also had m/w app't this afternoon, she seems to think baby is 'well engaged' which is good news, still 11 days till my due date so not expecting anything to kick off soon. She asked me had I had any pressure in my groin area - was sooo tempted to say 'You mean KNUFs???' Restrained myself and just said yes I had while giggling on the inside!

Will be doing nice things with them in the next few days so will pop in when I can, hugs to everyone, thinking of you all.

xxx

help girlies

i'm having contractions about every 7mins, lasting about 40secs-1min, for the last 2hrs, before that they were about every 20mins since lunchtime. They are getting quite painful, having to breathe through them and walk around. It's like really bad period pain. Is this it? What do I do? Why did I think I could manage a homebirth!!??!!

Am trying to think that this will probably amount to nothing and I'll be on here tomorrow huffing as usual! And mw told me yesterday cervix was unripe and couldn't do the sweep and would be about a week.

Any advice greatfully received!

eca · 18/04/2007 19:00

I'm fully expecting everything to stop now I've posted that and made dh clean the bathroom!!

Lusciousladylush · 18/04/2007 19:01

Hi all,

Just reporting in with some news!

Had Ethan Morgan Honeybun on Tue 17th April at 07.44am Weighing in at 8lb 11oz! So much for my pathetic period pains and back ache.. it was the beginning of something much bigger! will post later with details... congrats to Octo and Liath too!

Eca if your pains are lasting that long - you are probably about to get the real thing if my memory serves me right!!! get the gas and air sorted pronto - that stuff is amazing!!!
xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/04/2007 19:09

Wow, LLL, congratulations!! What a whopper as well! Hope you are ok. x

Eca, fingers crossed for you sweetheart. Sounds like things are definitely all systems go for you. I would suggest a TENS if you have one, getting on all fours and rotating your hips in a figure of 8, and perhaps a bath. Good luck!

Bumble, all sounds good for you too. I think you are due the day after me and my mw said today that I was well engaged, although I know that second time round which it is for me, baby could bounce back in and out.
Sorry to hear about your parents lost baggage. What a bloody pita.

Exciting stuff eh! Bring on the babies.

eca · 18/04/2007 19:11

LLL CONGRATULATIONS!!! Ethan Morgan is a lovely name! Hope that you're all doing well and you're recovering ok etc etc xx Look forward to hearing the details !! xx

eca · 18/04/2007 19:30

thanks SOSPL. Might give the tens a try. I'm just worried that it's not the real thing and I'm a complete wimp!! Ha!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/04/2007 19:39

Eca, you are not a wimp. You are doing a very important job. Keep us posted if you can, and I wish you love and luck. I'm about to have dinner but I'll be back on later. xx

eca · 18/04/2007 19:48

thanks SOSPL. Will hang around for a bit. MN is a good distraction! Maybe I should go and start a dodgy thread and get into a barney to take my mind off it!
