Evening all. Have we no arrivals yet today?

Think I will also give the measuring bit a miss!! Bump was measured at hospital yesterday to show a student what to do (only about the second time in whole pg this time) and was told I was 39cm. I've told three people this today when they've commented on the hugeness of my bump and it fairly stopped them commenting any more . I do think that when I lie down it disappears though and probably gains about 20 cm when I am standing...

Bit of news re sweeps and discussions this morning - I now have had (TMI alert) a bit of spotting and what is definitely a show! So maybe I was too pessimistic that it had no effect, but then no real signs of labour being imminent yet. Bit more positive I won't make it to induction next Tuesday though . Dh is strangely keen to hear all the details, he is getting desparate to start his "holidays"... so should be happy to be seduced tonight. (Seduced???! who am I kidding, not an apt description of what I am capable of at the moment... )

Katy44 · 17/04/2007 21:08

Good night everyone.
Successful seducing nelly!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 17/04/2007 21:47

I think everyone must be off seducing their dh's/dp's tonight - it is so quiet on here!

I am off to bed too - to read my book!! Really cannot face sex!!

So, hopefully some babies tomorrow?

Night lovely ladies. xx

EllieKthePA · 17/04/2007 21:56

so much for a relaxing bath, Joe woke up!

he's asleep again now, do i risk it?!

goodnight all xx

Go on honey - try again!

No seducing here .....

Off to bed .... absolutely shattered.....

Too bloody right the nits and I are not friends, Katy - little bastards!!!

Yes, I did get dinner, it was just about ready when I got downstairs - Not really DH's fault - more our crappy oven fault, bless him!

Sweet Dreams all ....

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/04/2007 07:47

Morning all, and how are we this fine morning?

Any news Pesha/EmmyMummy???

I feel knackered - again! Slept really badly, and feel like a space cadet.

B is already winding me up, saying she doesn't want to go to her swimming lesson this afternoon! FFS!!

Also getting slightly hacked off with dh again. He seems to be organising all manner of things from Mid May - nights away with the lads etc. I appreciate life goes on, but once again I find out about these things through seeing his emails (I am not prying - all our emails come in to Outlook - honest Guv!) Also, who knows how this baby is going to be etc. I just feel abandoned already!

nellyhel · 18/04/2007 07:49

What no messages ? I hope everyone wasn't away producing babies...if I'm the only one left I'll be !!

Nothing to report here, no progress, didn't even get the seducing done (!), so a bit fed up really. Off to school soon, hoping everyone asked their questions yesterday about when I was due, not in the mood for it today so might get snappy...

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/04/2007 07:51

Morning Nelly. You are not alone petal. I think everyone must be having a lie in. Lucky beggars!

Katy44 · 18/04/2007 07:53

Morning everyone.
SOSPL - I know what you mean about making plans, DH and everyone else seem to assume life will continue as normal, but I hate making plans not knowing all the facts. At the very least this baby might be like me (apparently I didn't sleep in the first 9 months of my life!)
I seduced last night (TMI!!) I really hope it's going to work!

Flamesparrow · 18/04/2007 08:05

Just crashing to wave WOOHOO flags for Octo

nellyhel · 18/04/2007 08:06

Morning Katy and SOSPL, glad I haven't been abandoned!

Katy - apparently I slept so much as a baby my mum got up and did housework before I even woke. Needless to say my two have always been early risers, thankfully now nearer 7 than before 6 a.m. So maybe it works in reverse and you'll get a good sleeper!

SOSPL - Need to sort my head out, I too getting wound up already - the daily fight to get ds to eat something for breakfast (he eats fine the rest of the time, but hate sending him to nursery without eating).

Can't even decide if walking to school would do me some good or if I should give in and take the car yet again. Decisions decisions. It is too much for my brain!

charNbump · 18/04/2007 08:20

morning all - due date today! wohoo!!!!

Been up since 7am with bad belly ache/pains but they aren't that regular as yet, they seem to be varying. Lets keep fingers crossed shall we?!

How's every1 else today?

Katy44 · 18/04/2007 08:28

Morning char! Have my fingers crossed!

weeonion · 18/04/2007 08:29

charnbump - good mornign due date buddy! i was just thining of you earier and wondering how you were doing!

IsabellyMoi · 18/04/2007 08:35

Morning all! No worries Nellyhel - you're not alone...I'm still around and no signs of a baby.

I had a bad sleep too, SOSPL. Feels awful going around in an exhausted fog, doesn't it? Hope you can get some rest today.

I think my lack of sleep was due to thinking too much about possible induction. Have decided that my best bet of going into labour is to RELAX and not let adrenaline/stress inhibit oxytocin. Easier said then done but that is my resolution. Also spoke to a very calming, knowledgeable midwife at the hospital and with her encouragement am going to attempt to have my induction postponed by 2 days at least.

Maybe Eca is off having a baby?

IsabellyMoi · 18/04/2007 08:37

Forgot to say 'good luck' to Charnbump! Hope the signs turn into baby action!

charNbump · 18/04/2007 08:41

WEEONION - D-DAYS HERE!!!! WOHOO!!!! every1 better keep their little fingers and tootsies crossed for me! Got midwife at 11am too so at least could confirm any action with her then hopefully. Weeonion any signs yet? Any1 else in progress that i dunno about? xx

maveta · 18/04/2007 08:42

Morning!! Hope everyone had an okay night´s sleep..

I feel kind of weird this morning, am getting lots of braxton hicks but not painful so no indication that they are anything out of the ordinary but still getting quite a lot of them. Think today might be the day to spring clean my kitchen... [I´m so exciting emoticon]

Anyone got anything slightly more exciting planned??

weeonion · 18/04/2007 08:51

char - i also have a mw appt at 11am - eek!!! i am excited as i am hoping she will do an exam and see if the old cervix has any action going on!! been having some pains but as they are not so sore to make me gasp but just take a note - i reckon they cant be that important!!

dp and i have been really close of late - last night i had a lovely night planned with fav foods, candles etc etc. he came in in a foul mood about some local lads hassling a cat. i know that is a terrible thing but he woudlnt shut up about it all night and sat brooding. not conducive to marking a significant date in our lives. i got really upset and scrubbed the kitchen floors!. all my positive feeling about pg went and i didnt sleep a wink last night - wondering round the flat the whole time.
great way to get ready for labour. he has gone off this morning with the same foul mood and is still going on about the frigging cat.
ahem - what about your baby. v v v

charNbump · 18/04/2007 09:10

weeonion - men huh?! there's always summit more important to moan about lol!

Bit freaky we both have midwife at 11am - lets hope we both get some sort of good news! Will they routinely do an internal or will i have to "enquire" about my pains and hint for an internal? x

weeonion · 18/04/2007 09:17

i think they have to be coaxed to do an internal. i havent had one this whole pg and there was me thinking my innards would be poked at every opportunity! r u planning on a sweep??

charNbump · 18/04/2007 09:25

i haven't really thought about it - but yea if i'm offered one i'll go for it! Anything to help the little darling find its way out! ha! When do they offer them usually? Like a weeks time? x

Yea about the internals, i thought you'd have em loads when preg but alas, i only had one when i went hospital at 33 weeks so..... would b nice to know if anything was happening tho so mayb will hint to her at the appt ha!

weeonion · 18/04/2007 09:33

at my last appt - my mw said that we could do one this morning depending on how things were. i guess i will just wait and see. i wanted dp there with me as this coudl be the last appt - he aint answerign his phone so i think its all picture and no sound on that front! lonely pint at the clinic again!

good luck missus. i will be thinking of you and hear from you later on??

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 18/04/2007 09:41

Men are a different breed!

Katy, I am like you in that I don't like making plans until I am armed with the facts. I just get annoyed that dh doesn't ask me if it is ok to go and off and do x,y and z - I expect it is because he fears the answer will be "NO"!!!

I am sooooo tired today and Becky is being a pain in the arse. Still going on about not wanting to go swimming this afternoon. I am going to have to bribe her - for purely selfish reasons, I need that half an hour of sitting watching her without having to be hands on iyswim.

Charnbump/WO, good luck with your appts today. My mw is due about now, but I have another 10 days to go still. So, just routine stuff.

charNbump · 18/04/2007 09:47

okey doke WO - will keep u updated! Lets hope we're both progressing to some degree! x
