More congratulations to the new babies and to mmk and hotlipsmummy ! It must be the wonderful spring weather that is bringing them on.

Isabellymoi - thanks for the support as an over duey! No it is my third and my last was 10 days early, my first 3 days late and now I am up to day 5 overdue - the longest I have been pregnant I hastened to point out this morning to DP!

I am coping OK though except for maternity clothes - have nothing for this warmer weather and don't want to buy anything of course! All my normal summer tops ride up - lovely and I don't seem to have a stock of elastic trousers / skirts! Never expected this problem

My other bother is explaining exactly why the kids can't use the birthing pool we have ready, to swim in in this hot weather!

Have resort to buying castor oil...has anyone else used this???

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 14/04/2007 18:27

Hi Zaza's. Have the same issue with clothes. I put on a skirt today (usually in trousers), and I look HUGE. Also, have a very limited number of summer maternity tops and they all ride up as well, and show my horrid tummy which seems to have developed more stretchmarks - boo. Even dh commented on the stretchmarks last night.

Sending labour vibes to you. x

Pesha · 14/04/2007 18:35

Zazas have never used castor oil and have to say i have heard mostly bad things about it, wouldnt want to try it myself. But I know people do so must be something in it I guess. Might be worth a search?

Have changed the pic on my profile cos didnt like the other one and have realised im wearing exactly the same clothes in the new pic I do have more than 1 outfit, honest, but it is getting abit limited now!

Katy44 · 14/04/2007 18:40

I know - in every photo since Christmas I seem to be wearing one of 3 tops! I also bought some summery tops in October (I didn't realise they were summery when I bought them) but they're coming in handy now!
Still don't have any trousers I can walk in without holding them up

maveta · 14/04/2007 18:55

Glad you´re all having lovely weather.. I´ll let you keep it for now but I´ll be having it back soon! It´s been raining here for days and days but I´m loving it. Everyone here is moaning non stop but it is just perfect for lazing around the house and TBH (and in all seriousness) it rains so little around here that I think it´s just lovely. We seem to spend so much of the year with everything looking parched and brown and dead and dry that to see all the fields full of long bright green grass and flowers and the trees all full of green leaves is just so kind to the eyes and mind .. what a little hippy I am, hey?!

Dh has gone off for the soundcheck for his gig tonight, they don´t play til 10pm but are only playing 10mins drive from here so he might come and get me, if I can lever my arse off the sofa. Strangely enough I AM actually considering it, if only so I can say I have actually been out of the house one night this week....

zazas · 14/04/2007 18:56

Pesha - me too have only read stuff that has made me think twice! Maybe the sweep is the better option?? Ahhhh I just want my waters to break like the other two - straightforward!

maveta · 14/04/2007 18:56

Oh. I forgot that the whole point of that endless babble was basically to say thank GOD I don´t have to worry about finding summer wear to fit over this belly. I´d have to just stay in I think if it got hot now.

CaptainDippy · 14/04/2007 19:14

Poppping in before DH has to monopolise the computer for the evening to write his sermon for church tomorrow, bless him.

Feeling pretty exhausted, but strangely energised this evening - VERY weird combo!! Been a busy old day today .... working and then taking the girlies swimming - maternity swimming costume bearly fits me - tad embarassing!!

Think I'll spend this evening with a nice cup of hot chocolate and my new book. Just finished Q&A by Vikras Swarup - pretty good, easy read - would recommend. now onto The Island by Victoria Hislop - enchanting so far....

Congratulations!! - To Hotlipsmummy - Fantastic news on the birth of your little boy!! Looking forward to hearing details, seeing pics and finding out his name.....

Twinkle- Thank you for emailing pics of wee Evelyn - she is completely scrummy!

bumble75 · 14/04/2007 19:23

Hello, everyone. It's been very quiet on here, anyone'd think there were some babies about

Can i just say to all those still pg that I highly recomend raspberry leaf tea/tablets. I am sure they caused me to miss out on an epidural by speeding my dilation up. Can't be proved but i dilated very quickly.

So for those who want to know my birth story here it is. Anyone not wishing to hear

Eddas · 14/04/2007 20:02

Fantastic tip ellie, thanks, message retrieved, woo hoo!!

Sorry to here of your bad afternoon Ellie, hope it wasn't too bad

EllieKthePA · 14/04/2007 20:04

would have been funny for us but not sure everyone else would've appreciated it

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 14/04/2007 20:10

Eddas, thanks for your birth story, and am glad you were honest about the pain! I have been knocking back the old raspberry leaf tablets.

Ellie, sorry you have had a "trying" afternoon. Take away sounds good.

Hugs to you all.

EllieKthePA · 14/04/2007 20:12

ok, i'm off for a bath while she is still here to watch Joe, will think of one while i'm soaking

OP posts:
bumble75 · 14/04/2007 20:17

I knew there was something I forgot to get yesterday when I was in town - the raspberry leaf tablets - d'oh!

Ditto from me - thank you for sharing your story Eddas (even the pain!)

Ellie, hope your evening is better than your afternoon - a bath and takeaway sounds lovely...

Going for my dinner now, have a lovely evening all

xxx

foxybrown · 14/04/2007 20:25

Can I just drop in from the 'Due in June' thread to say congratulations to you all? I've just read the labour posts and am getting very excited about my own, albeit another 11 weeks away!

Good luck to all of you still due in April, and congrats to you with new arrivals

xx

Katy44 · 14/04/2007 20:53

Hi everyone,
Ellie, hope you have a more relaxing evening.
Eddas - thanks for sharing the birth story, can I ask what strength RLTs were you taking and how often? I worry that I'm not taking enough.
CD - my MIL's just lent me the Island. (ooh that sounds very posh). I have to say it doesn't look like my kind of thing but maybe I should give it a go??

Katy44 · 14/04/2007 20:53

Thanks foxy
Hope you are all well on the June thread
