Just got back from telling our parents and have started telling close friends, it's such a relief to be able to talk about it! Had some lovely reactions so far, his mum is already saying she wants to buy things, had to tell her to calm down!

willisurvive2under2 · 24/10/2017 22:37

Congratulations on all the scans!

I’ve got a flat stomach when I get up in the morning and look about 5 months pregnant by bedtime. What’s going on there?! It’s so uncomfortable! I know there’s 2 in there but still! Shock

LadyPug · 24/10/2017 22:41

Me too willisurvive I start off normal in the morning and by evening I am massive!!!

Estrele · 25/10/2017 05:11

I cannot believe your boss said that @Milford!!
3days now @LadyPug 😊💖
And so jealous @Poppy about your 20 week scan date ! I am Still waiting on my 12 week date and it is killing me 😣 hoping it will arrive today !!

nothinglikeithought · 25/10/2017 07:28

Mornning, hoping to join you all? Due around the 20th May. Not got my booking app till next Friday (the 3rd) when I'll be 11+ 5ish and no idea when I'll get my scan date through! Driving me slightly mad! Also have a big family party next weekend and so it will be so hard not to say anything even though I'll be practically 12 weeks. Feel like absolute shit in the evenings so not even sure how I'm going to manage without giving the game away... Just like my 1st pregnancy with DD, it's still 'nothing like I thought'!

Estrele · 25/10/2017 08:29

Hello Nothinglikeithought :) glad I am not the only one they seem really late with xx

cautiousoptimist1 · 25/10/2017 11:10

Welcome nothinglikeithought, I'm due on 19th and don't have a scan date yet either. Have you seen someone to book it or make the referral? My midwife made mine after booking in last week but she was surprised my GP hadn't already done it.

LadyPug · 25/10/2017 11:15

Welcome nothinglikeithought I’m due around the same time as you and my scan is booked a billion weeks away (by a billion I mean 3) and I also have family event same weekend as you and combination of fear of mmc and terrified I’ll be outed (as starting to show) in front of poor friend who just had miscarriage has stressed me out so much that I’ve booked a private scan this weekend!

MegsMog · 25/10/2017 13:48

So nice to read of so many positive scans.

My boobs are killing me today after feeling fine for a while, and my skin is SO dry. I don't think I'm drinking enough - I've really gone off water so am drinking lots of decaf earl grey. Am still shattered and desperate for my energy to return a bit - feel like it's a viscous cycle of feeling knackered so not doing any exercise and eating too much chocolate then feeling gross!

MegsMog · 25/10/2017 13:49

Viscous cycle? Hmm Clearly I am tired!!

nothinglikeithought · 25/10/2017 13:52

I'm very tempted to get a private one next week @Ladypug. We'll see...

@cautious we don't go anywhere near a GP where I live now. Apparently I'll get a letter with a number to ring up to book a scan but not sure whether this letter is triggered by the booking app or whether I'll get one at any point as my name in now in the system.

LadyPug · 25/10/2017 14:14

My consultant appt came through today to discuss birth options! Bit early isn’t it? Mind you it’s for mid December and it doesn’t hurt to be prepared!

PhoenixDown · 25/10/2017 17:43

So I had another scan today to check on the area of bleeding. Baby had good heartbeat and the bleeding has reduced slightly. However I'm now overthinking and worried - last scan 13 days ago dated me at 7+6, today I measured 9+1 and not 9+5 - is this OK? I know early scans can have margin of error as baby is so small but I'm paranoid now that the growth is slowing. I keep getting put back - edd now 29th May! I'll be into June at this rate!

Sonographer didn't seem worried and said all looked fine, surely she'd have said if there were any concerns??

LadyPug · 25/10/2017 18:26

I wouldn’t worry Phoenix the sonographer would know if there was a problem I’m sure. I’ve also been put back to 28th but I’m still telling myself I’m 10+2 as I think (hope!!!) they are wrong so I’m awaiting my dating scan to be sure - in saying that, I have a private dating scan this weekend but want to see what nhs say also! I wouldn’t worry too much as hopefully if anything was wrong they would have noticed but in the early days it’s common to get dates wrong isn’t it?

MegsMog · 25/10/2017 18:31

phoenix The margin of error is so high early in pregnancy, even at 12 week scan. Try not to worry about it - it's brilliant that baby looks happy and cozy! Plus I imagine that, just like once they are born, babies in the womb don't grow steadily, surely they have a growth spurt, then don't grow much, then have a growth spurt again? So maybe baby is about to grow more. Sonographer would have said if any concerns Smile

PhoenixDown · 25/10/2017 18:51

Yeah I'm just being daft! I'm sure they'd let me know if there was a problem.

Can't believe I keep getting put back though. I'm STILL not 10 weeks! Im having to do week 9 again. It's the never ending pregnancy Grin

Needmorehands · 25/10/2017 19:32

Hello everyone, had our scan this morning so I can't pretend its not happening any more! Such a relief to see the heartbeat and happy wriggly little person, I've been lucky and not bled - just been hugely paranoid.
This is a surprise 5th baby, who will be 6yrs younger than our current youngest - hence taking the time to get my head round it!
Looking forward to 'getting to know' you all

Estrele · 25/10/2017 20:45

Wow @Needmorehands ! Glad all is well :) atleast the older siblings can help out with baby duties hopefully ;) xx

@Pheonix I wouldnt worry - I had an early scan because of bleeding and they said that as it is so small it is really not accurate on the days so I am sure it is fine! ...mine actually placed me a whole 1week and 4 days ahead of what I thought possible, but then my midwife basically said she would follow my dates and not theirs .... so who knows lol !...She also told me to swap my reduced one cup of tea a day to decaf and a big no to even one glass of mulled wine at Christmas ;( ......

timeisnotaline · 25/10/2017 22:31

I am not sure about the no to one glass of mulled wine! Past the first trimester I'll have a glass.
For a fun new topic, I'm on ondansetron and its side effect is that it's extremely constipating... I'm on a teeny dose and it's still a problem. I am taking lactulose, is anyone taking anything else? I don't think I could get a fybogel down without vomiting. I think I will go off my teeny dose for the weekend to help get things moving.

Noredwine · 25/10/2017 23:35

Phoenix and needmorehands - congrats on the scans! Glad all is well and they are wriggling around in there!*
Time -* I have been suffering with really bad constipation. Am taking dulcoease which has helped although today have been really uncomfortable again and desperate to remove brick like blockage from my stomach! Have drunk loads, eaten plenty of fruit and taken my tablets and nothing has budged!! Hoping overnight things will improve as bloody painful at present and have to drive to Brum for work in the morning to go to Court and couple do without feeling like I have a bowling ball in my tummy! Oh and the stench of the wind I am emitting ... I will wipe out the whole department at work!! Grin

willisurvive2under2 · 25/10/2017 23:40

Hi everyone,

I had a repeat Harmony scan today as twin 1 was too small for it last week. They’ve now both grown nicely and have had bloods taken - I’ll hear back in a week hopefully. Had to have an internal as they were both in a funny position and covering each other - trouble makers already! The image was so much clearer and it wasn’t uncomfortable at all - I’m glad she suggested it. It’s unbelievable the amount of detail they can see at this stage - she pointed out their stomachs, brain hemispheres, the lot. I had this with DS but seeing everything times 2 is rather breathtaking. I’m starting to be tentatively excited about twins now! I hope everyone else’s scans are coming ‘round soon. I have my 12-week scan next week which is a bit of a non-event after seeing the twins twice in two weeks, but still lovely of course.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 26/10/2017 04:55

Lovely twin scan pictures!

Your MW seems quite strict estrele! Mine didn’t not bat an eyelid at my 1-2 coffees per day, and most guidance seems to say that a one-off alcoholic drink won’t do any harm, so unless you have specific risk factors I would do whatever you’re comfortable with

Noredwine · 26/10/2017 07:30

Willisurvive- amazing scan pictures! Congratulations - you are so lucky and blessed to be having twins x

cautiousoptimist1 · 26/10/2017 08:07

Amazing pictures willisurvive. You sound so much more positive now, I guess seeing 2 wriggly little beans will help!

Your midwife seems very strict estrele, I think one cup of tea is fine unless you drink a lot of coke or anything. I cut down while TTC so drink mostly decaf but always have a "real" tea in the morning and have enough "allowance" for a coffee if I need one.

What is everyone else doing about alcohol? I don't drink much anyway so didn't miss it last time except on Xmas eve when we traditionally would have a mini Swiss Xmas. I bought non alcoholic mulled wine but didn't even open it (hmm it's probably still around here somewhere!). However, I continue to take communion (I dip the bread in the wine) so am I being a hypocrite?!

Estrele · 26/10/2017 08:16

Wow! willisurvive exciting and so glad you are getting excited too now :)
time I have no idea I am afraid but hope that you sort it soon! 're the ME tell me about it !!! But DH has already said no way and almost insisting I drink esp at Christmas so ;) and I know my mum drank plenty for all of us so ... xx
Has anyone got a scan today ? :)
