As the 2nd thread is full I've started this one. Hope everyone finds it!

Hi all I've been absent for a while, spending more time on the hyperemesis thread as I've been really sick.
Anyway I am starting to feel slightly better now I have passed 12 week stage. Had scan and everything looks good.
Am currently trawling ebay for maternity clothes.

MilfordFound · 08/11/2017 20:51

Asos tall maternity jeans arrived today. So comfortable! And slightly long for me, which is rare as I'm 6 foot. The rest hasnt been so good, out of 6 pairs of trousers I've only kept 1.
I'm going to have to start wearing jeans to work. I can't keep rotating the same 2 outfits for much longer!

firsttimechloe91 · 08/11/2017 23:34

I went to primark yesterday and spent 80 quid but am fully equipped now for the second trimester! So many stretchy tops and dresses! People are amazed at the size of my bump already although people are staring at me like... is she pregnant or fat?! I feel like going up to them and saying yes I am preggo! Not just greedy! Grin

This is 13 + 3.. only going to get bigger!

Aggy106 · 09/11/2017 06:09

Congratulations on the scans! Excellent news.

Glad you're starting to feel better bunny and welcome notmumsey!

My jeans haven't arrived from JoJo yet but I'll update when they do. I think I'll have to get on eBay too for maternity clothes soon.

HandbagFan · 09/11/2017 09:15

Finally have my booki in appointment today! I’m 11 weeks today and with current due date being 31/05, I’m definitely the last one on this thread.

My scan’s booked in for ten days time - feels like a lifetime away but I’m sure it’ll whizz past.

I got away with hardly any maternity clothes last time - I’m a bigger girl and stretchy stuff in the size above got me through most of the 42 weeks I was pregnant. Maybe this time round I will invest in some over the bump jeans... I’m just worried I’ll wear them after the baby’s arrived like Joey wearing Phoebe’s pants on friends!

Bunnyfluffy · 09/11/2017 10:18

I have to wait until I am 12+3 for my booking in appointment! I've already had the 12 week scan, guess I am just doing it in a different order.

I'm planning on buying most of my maternity stuff from eBay. I am targeting the bigger brands (JoJo, Isabella Oliver, Seraphine) as I am hoping to be able to sell them on again at the end of my pregnancy.

I had a look on the Isabella Oliver website but no way can I justify their prices for a dress, and I definitely won't be buying the maternity leather leggings for £349! I know their stuff is lovely (have several things from their sister company Baukjen) but can't justify the prices for maternity wear I'll only wear for a couple of months.

Might also do a Primark trip for basic vests, tights etc.

Motherofpuppies · 09/11/2017 17:26

Has anyone else suddenly got constant boob pain in the second trimester? Right at the beginning of the pregnancy my boobs were a bit achy but now it's totally different - they hurt me so much they wake me up at night.

I'm only a B cup so maybe it's just growing pains, but it feels like veins of pain running across my chest. Especially painful in the mornings and the evenings. Anyone else in knocker-related agony??

HerSymphonyAndSong · 09/11/2017 19:12

Bloods and NT have come back - low risk for trisomies but Papp-A and bHCG seem low. I am trying not to panic myself with googling. It seems that this is not uncommon and may just mean extra growth scans and it doesn’t necessarily follow that everything will go wrong

Estrele · 09/11/2017 21:24

Wow!! So much catching up o to Do!
goyza, needmorehands And chefsfloozie I had my scan on Monday and am now 15th May too :)) there are so many of us !!
willisurvive thank you! I really hope your sickness passes soon!! Xx
salt so happy for You!!
cautious your scan sounds like it was so lovely!!!
hersymphony I don't know about your results, but I did get told that if there were problems then the midwife would call and it wouldn't just be a letter.

Going to skip out of the show I am at tomorrow and over into the Trafford centre to try and find some clothes as I can't wear my jeans any more. And tbh it is probably goig to rapidly get worse as while my nausea has reduced a bit I can finally keep it a bit in check by eating ...

Whatamuddleduck · 10/11/2017 06:28

Hi all. I finally gave in yesterday after 2 weeks of headache and came home sick. Feel so much better for a rest and slept through for the first time in months. Didn't realise how stressful I'm finding my new job until I stopped.
My lovely eBay mat jeans turned up yesterday- so comfy!
On the down side my lovely cat has gone missing. DP asked whether she might be avoiding me as I'm pg, don't think so as up to the night before she was sleeping on my belly but really upset by the thought!

Anyone else's pets behaving weirdly?

Hey everyone! Loads of catching up to do but lovely to see some more 12 week scams!
I have mine a week today which my midwife booked at my booking in appointment. Will I receive a letter confirming the date, time, location and what I need to do to prepare? I haven’t had one yet and I’m a bit worried I’ll turn up and they won’t expect me!

scoutcat · 10/11/2017 07:10

Scans. 🤭😫

Noredwine · 10/11/2017 08:20

Mother of puppies - yup I had the boob pain - described it as like electric currents suddenly shooting through my boob veins! I had achy boobs in first trimester and they are less painful now but still get occasional sharp flashes of pain and sensitive nips and general ache by the end of the day when the bra so needs to come off!
Got my appointment for my next scan last night - 7 Dec - when I will be 19 weeks - thought I had to wait until at least 20 weeks but apparently here it is between 18 and 20 weeks so I am pleased as will not have to wait quite as long as I thought! Smile

Noredwine · 10/11/2017 08:21

Scout cat - yes you should get a letter confirming where and when your appointment is so if it doesn't arrive soon I would call midwife on Monday/Tuesday to check.

Doublechocolatetiffin · 10/11/2017 13:29

Scout cat it depends on the hospital - mine doesn’t send letters, which seems pretty useless to me. I only knew to drink lots of water because I’d had the scans with my DD (at a different hospital that does send letters!). You can always call them to ask though.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 10/11/2017 14:25

I have found that for much of the process you are expected to either be psychic or to unquestioningly turn up where they tell you to without any curiosity about what is going to be done to you! I’m sure it’s not supposed to be like this

Aggy106 · 10/11/2017 18:26

I didn't know I was going to have a blood test when I had my scan (it's not in the letter) and the sonographer looked a bit Hmm at me when she told me and I said 'what? Now?' Hope you get it sorted out scout, you should get a letter but if not give them a call.

whata really hope your car turns up, has she gone missing before? My cats have definately been more cuddly recently, we have problems with one pooing on the floor every few days (has done for over two years) and everything we've tried including getting a vet nurse pet psychology person in hasn't made a difference. DH and I have spent hours taking about it as we love the cats so much but we can't have a cat pooing on the floor when the baby comes. I just don't know what we're going to do.... it makes me really sad to think about it.

Motherofpuppies · 10/11/2017 19:48

@Scoutcat I never received a letter either, but my scan was at Bradwell (is yours there too or do they do them at Stoke?). Since we're in the same area it might be the same case. At the scan they gave me a letter for my 20 week scan though so not sure if my original one just never arrived!

Whatamuddleduck · 10/11/2017 20:03

Thanks Aggy, she's home! Putting leaflets through the neighbours doors worked. For some reason she had been going into a house up the road and hiding. She seems uninjured but not quite herself. Such a relief to have her home!
Oh dear, I'd agree that you really dont want cat poo around with a baby. Could you limit the rooms the cats have access to maybe? That might control the issue?

Don't remember who asked about trousers, but I picked up a really comfy pair today ( cross between tracky bums and leggings) from H&M .... tried the leggings on too but they looked like they would be see through after a couple of outings
I also got measured at John Lewis and had gone up a whole 3 cups oops....

whatamuddle glad your cat is back!!

scoutcat · 11/11/2017 10:07

@Motherofpuppies Thank you!! It is at Bradwell so that makes me feel a lot better, phew!

MilfordFound · 11/11/2017 18:06

I've fallen down the rabbit hole on this blog. I like this post about squatting in pregnancy, there are others that go into greater detail about why squatting is good for your pelvic floor.

nutritiousmovement.com/what-to-expect-when-youre-squatting/

There's great advice about diastasis recti too. Such a brilliant resource, I love learning stuff!

Elvi1 · 11/11/2017 19:46

Hope everyone is doing ok this evening? Had my scan yesterday and so far, so good - measuring a day out so due date is now the 25th May. We were there for 2 hours as baby wouldn't shift where it was supposed to - already showing signs of stubbornness ha.

LadyPug · 11/11/2017 21:10

Hey everyone, congrats on your scan Elvi I’ve got mine on Monday after waiting forever and I’m now getting a bit nervous!

Elvi1 · 11/11/2017 22:20

Thanks Ladypug - you will be absolutely fine I'm sure. It's so so hard, but try not to allow yourself to think too much about it until the day comes.
