Just to add to what I said about Séraphine jeans yesterday - I’ll correct. One pair is great, the rest are an expensive waste of money! I’ve tried the second style today and have spent the whole day pulling them back up again. They just don’t stay up Angry avoid their super skinny jeans, they are useless!

ChefsFloozie · 06/11/2017 17:59

Great news gyoza

MilfordFound · 06/11/2017 20:00

I think relaxin is kicking in. I pulled something in my foot yesterday and it got out of place briefly. Today I twanged my hip and I've been hobbling round in pain. I've got hyper mobile joints anyway but didn't really notice it getting worse during last pregnancy. Maybe it's just a coincidence. Hope I can walk properly tomorrow!

Needmorehands · 06/11/2017 20:08

Hi Gyoza, we're due date twins!
Glad there have been so many happy scans on here :)

DOn't know if anyone feels its too soon to be looking at how to get the baby out - but I thought these photos were amazing! www.boredpanda.com/professional-birth-photography-competition-winners-labor-2017/?page_numb=6

MilfordFound · 06/11/2017 20:10

This is my second pregnancy, so I'd thought I'd share how I experienced feeling early movement from my first baby.
Imagine a goldfish in a bag of water. Imagine your hands wrapped round the bag while the fish is swimming inside. You can feel the movement of the fish gently on the sides of the bag. For me, that's what the baby's early movement felt like in my tummy. Several weeks later I could feel the distinctive tiny kicks, but first it was a wiggly fish Smile
I can't wait to feel this baby wiggling!

cautiousoptimist1 · 06/11/2017 20:17

I didn't feel movement last time until a few weeks after the 20 week scan and mine felt like tiny little bubbles at first. I had an anterior placenta though so that cushions some of the movement.

Great news on your scan Gyoza, ladypug I'm going for a private scan as I still don't have a date for the NHS one.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 06/11/2017 20:30

I sometimes feel faint butterfly type feelings in my uterus area, but when I focus on it it seems to be my own pulse!

nothinglikeithought · 06/11/2017 21:24

Congrats on all the scans so far! Mine's on Weds and cannot wait (although pretty nervous)...

Any more jeans recommendations? I had a pair of Topshop under the bump ones last pregnancy and I HATED them as couldn't get the things to stay up. I'm thinking over the bump this time but do you have to wait for sizeable bump to appear first?

Doublechocolatetiffin · 06/11/2017 21:35

If you find the answer to the jeans problem let me know! I’ve tried the asos Ridley ones which aren’t too bad - I kept a pair of those New look which felt quite scratchy, mothercare which I also took back as the material wasn’t great. I have one pair of skinny jeans from seraphine which are good, but the super skinny’s are terrible.

All of those are over the bump - I think they’ll be better this time, being pregnant over the winter. My sister has recommended H&M so I’m going to try those next Smile

Elvi1 · 06/11/2017 22:14

needmorehands I've seen those pictures before - they are amazing aren't they?!

LadyPug · 06/11/2017 22:41

Hey cautious good idea on the private scan, it’s forever to wait isn’t it?! I also had anterior Placenta and didn’t feel until after 20 weeks last time (I think 24 weeks) and also felt like bubbles.

Jeans wise I quite like the New Look over the bump ones and find them super comfortable

cautiousoptimist1 · 07/11/2017 07:03

Still finding it hard to locate jeans that are long enough for me. I may look for skirts/dresses instead and live in leggings and tights. I found primarily maternity tights really good last time - tried m&s first but they didn't stay up!

cautiousoptimist1 · 07/11/2017 07:03

Primark tights!

Cathster · 07/11/2017 07:23

I've just bought a pair of under the bump black Matalan skinny jeans for work and they are super comfortable. They only have a thick elasticated band so no issues falling down. However, the rest of Matalans maternity section appears dire!

Aggy106 · 07/11/2017 07:51

I've ordered two pairs of jeans from Jojo so I'll let you know how I get on. I look horrific in skinny jeans so I've ordered a bootcut pair and a straight pair, it's so hard to find maternity jeans in anything other than skinny!

Excellent news on the scan!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 07/11/2017 08:06

cautious have you looked at asos? They have a pretty good range of tall maternity clothes.

Motherofpuppies · 07/11/2017 08:30

I've given up on jeans now, just so uncomfortable even in maternity ones! But I bought some jumper dresses from Next the other day and loving them. Paired with some giant tights (two sizes up from normal) I'm much more comfy and warm too. I think it's partly psychological too that I feel a bit smarter as my belly is much less noticeable in a baggy dress than it was in jeans and jumpers!

I got my dresses at a Next Outlet store so super cheap too! Just buying several sizes up in everything so it's baggy and there's room to grow.

firsttimechloe91 · 07/11/2017 08:34

I’m off to primark today to get some stretchy tops and bigger tights! I’ve also ordered a bumper maternity pack from next - they do a dress, a skirt, leggings and a top for £36! Can’t grumble at that as will do fine for work!

I’m only 13 + 2 but I’ve got such a bump already! Surprised me how quickly it came on! It was almost overnight!! I love it though. I’m one of those women who are constantly touching it and have my hands on it! Can’t wait to meet the critter that’s just chilling in there!!

ChefsFloozie · 07/11/2017 09:05

I'm 5 foot 9 with quite long legs and lived in skirts/dresses and leggings. Soooo comfy!

Rubyshoes2 · 07/11/2017 13:10

I’m loath to spend money on temporary clothes so have ASOS and ASDA orders on the way to test out the maternity range. I’m plus size and tall-ish so choice is a bit more limited. Don’t have a bump yet, but waistbands are starting to feel a little uncomfortable. I’ll let you know if I rate my deliveries!

Needmorehands · 07/11/2017 17:01

Loving the clothes discussions :) links would be fab!
I'm lucky that I can still wear most of my normal jeans, a couple of pairs are too tight now but I think that's as much down to eating what I want when I've wanted to for the last few weeks after pretty much following slimming world for 20months, as I don't feel bumpy yet!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 07/11/2017 17:45

I am now wearing these for work (no bump yet, but need the stretchy waist!)

cautiousoptimist1 · 07/11/2017 18:14

I think I'll check out asos as I think they're free returns but I'm normally not tall enough for tall ranges and too tall for regular! I'm an odd shape!

I had my scan today and it was a lovely experience. If anyone is thinking about private then it's really thorough, it's an extravagance I wouldn't normally have indulged in but it was great. The scan was probably 30-40 minutes, she checked for any obvious downs markers and listened to the blood flow through different valves! My DD could also be there so it was really relaxed. Baby is fine, due date remains 19th May and has lots of fabulous waves from my leggy little bean.

LadyPug · 07/11/2017 18:17

Wow cautious that’s amazing! My private scan was 10 minutes and had none of that! It was still a better experience than hospital though!

ChefsFloozie · 07/11/2017 18:34

Great news cautious, glad it was such a good experience. Had mine today too, all ok and moved to 15th May. All a bit real now. And totally a reason to move over to wearing entirely maternity clothes, no more squeezing in for me!
