Thank you Kirstipops feeling really nervous now! Still got ages to go but feel like I can’t do anything but wait!

ChefsFloozie · 28/10/2017 13:59

Oh no, I had forgotten about the clocks changing. Booooooo. Team CBeebies here in fact cautious I have a 16 month old DD too! I'm due 19th May by dates but have to wait til 7th Nov for scan.

I'm down in Sussex, hello to anyone else round this way.

Left DD with my parents overnight for the third time last night as I organise a bonfire and firework night which was yesterday. I did not get a lie in due to bladder and just feel knackered today and DH at work for the next 6 days in a row. And as he's a chef so loooooong days.

Off to have a word with myself about cheering up and locate some pulpy orange juice. Seems a common craving!

Good luck to all upcoming scanees

Elephantgrey · 28/10/2017 16:08

Timeisnotaline I have got medication the oral kind did very little for me but I tried the kind which dissolves in your mouth yesterday and I felt loads better having not been able to keep water down before that.

I got my letter through this morning about my 12 week scan! I also got details of my consultant appointment through although it's not til January! 😀

I'm amazed so many people know they are having girls. I didn't know you even could find out this early! So exciting.

Elephantgrey · 28/10/2017 16:10

Esteem I know what you mean about the folic acid pills they make you feel sick. The kind I have tell you they need to be taken on a full stomach!

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 17:45

Hey everyone! About to leave for my scan! Nervous!!!!

PhoenixDown · 28/10/2017 18:02

Good luck LadyPug!

MilfordFound · 28/10/2017 18:04

Fingers crossed Ladypug!

Estrele · 28/10/2017 18:27

How did it go Ladypug ?? Hope all well !
elephantgrey mine said nothing about that - I found out the hard way ... thought I had it down and then obviously wasn't full enough the other day again 😣 ... When is you scan date ? I am still waiting on my letter.

Needmorehands · 28/10/2017 18:37

So nice to hear I'm not the only one struggling to sleep - I can officially blame bump for it then!
Away with family this weekend so the kids are being entertained by their cousins and uncles while I had an afternoon nap and my SIL caught up with some reading, feel much better for it!
Enjoy the scan Ladypug :)
Why do you need to see the consultant Elephantgrey (sorry if you said earlier) I've got an appt with mine in January as well, as I had group b strep in previous pregnancies. MW thought they'd try to put me off having a home birth because of it, but the hospital is about 40mins along single carriageway roads and I really don't fancy trying to sit still for that long!

Elephantgrey · 28/10/2017 18:54

Estrele my scan is on the 15th November.
needmorehsnds I am not entirely sure why I have to see the consultant as I have lots of health reasons. I have hypermobility syndrome and I had clicky hips when I was a baby (I still do😀). I also have tourettes syndrome which might be another reason. The midwife wasn't sure if I would need to be consultant led care or not as I am an unusual case. This is my first baby.

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 19:56

Hi everyone! All is ok! So chuffed! Measuring as I thought too which is good so (knew I wasn’t a week behind! Feel so much relief! Pics aren’t very good unfortunately but scan experience was really nice!

MilfordFound · 28/10/2017 19:59

I lived in Leeds when I had my daughter, gave birth at LGI, the staff on delivery suite were amazing. I'm in the north west now, fairly rural and the midwife/scan experience has been very different so far!

MilfordFound · 28/10/2017 20:01

Oops that last post was for Estrele who's near Leeds.

Ladypug that's such wonderful news! I'm glad everything is fine and dates are on track. You didn't do week 9 twice hurrah for skipping ahead back to where you were!

CaptainsCat · 28/10/2017 20:02

Glad to hear the scan went well ladypug Smile

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 20:11

Thanks captain and milford I definitely couldn’t have done the ninth week twice!!!

cautiousoptimist1 · 28/10/2017 20:13

ChefsFloozie, my due date is 19th too. My DD is at such a cute age and I'm really hoping she'll be ok with the new baby.

Ladypug, great news on the scan, hope it helped reassure you.

I'm still feeling rough but today it didn't start until I was making dinner so that's a positive. I still don't have a scan date so hoping it comes through soon. I'm 11 weeks today.

cautiousoptimist1 · 28/10/2017 20:14

Oh and I'm also in Oxfordshire.

Whatamuddleduck · 28/10/2017 20:27

Yay lady pug! Glad scan went well.
Is anyone near me? Somerset, nearish Shepton mallet?
I've been working out how best to use annual leave and mat leave (feel a bit ahead of my self but what the hell!). Figure from mid feb I can go to 4 days a week and then off from 36 weeks (about start April). Would love to have people to meet up with in later stages to compare bumps with!
No one I know is expecting.

@whatamuddleduck I grew up in that neck of the woods. I get homesick for the west country sometimes! Lived in north dorset, used to work in Frome. Been to shepton a few times. So lovely down there. I'm in the North now, but I'll always be a southern softy. I'll be teaching my daughter to say 'Where's it to' Grin

Last pregnancy I'd intended to work until 2 weeks before due date. But I was so exhausted, and the commute in winter on crappy buses was a nightmare, I was SO done with work and stopped at 4wks before due date. I'm glad I stopped when I did but that last month at home went SLOWLY. Especially the 10 days overdue!
Not sure what I'll do this time. Being at work (easy commute in my car) will more than likely be easier than being at home chasing after a rampaging toddler so I may aim to stick it out as long as possible!

ChefsFloozie · 28/10/2017 21:03

My job is quite physical so I finished a month before due date. But pickle was 12 days late so ended up being nearly six weeks before she appeared.

Cautious I'm hoping that too! And like you say this is such a fab age. With a nice solid lunchtime nap so I can sleep too on the days I'm not at work. It's been making all the difference to getting through the day. Good timing on same age DDs and same due date!

Glad all is well ladypug

Cathster · 28/10/2017 21:13

@ladypug glad your scan went well! What a relief you must feel.

Less than 2 days to mine now, I'm so nervous and excited at the same time!

I'm intending to go off work as early as I can as I'll have a full year's worth of leave to take before hand. I got a grand total of a week with DD due to her being a month early, scuppered were my plans to lie on the sofa and watch crap tv for a few weeks!

scoutcat · 28/10/2017 21:23

Talking about maternity leave, I’m a teacher with a very demanding class that I’m not enjoying at all! Tempted to have an earlier maternity leave but also want to try and work for as long as I can. Don’t want to get too stressed by the demands of my class though!

Any other teachers, when are you going to start maternity leave?

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 21:29

Haha Milford where’s it to? I’m guilty of saying that! A fellow south wester here! Same here, stopped work a month before but went 12 days overdue! Can’t do that again! I was going out of my mind!

Thanks Floozie and cathster good luck with your scan in a few days!

Alou88 · 28/10/2017 21:56

I’m a teacher; secondary. Have lots of exam classes (yr 11, 12 &13) so feel like I should stay as long as a can...equally I have no idea how I’ll manage a full days teaching. I was thinking of my last day being the inset after the easter holidays (16th April) it’s inset and I’m head of department so set the agenda for that day, and it’s about 2 weeks before my due date...with the easter hols I’ll really be stopping 4 weeks before?

Estrele · 28/10/2017 22:26

Gosh I do not envy you teachers out there !!!

I kind of luckily work from home so am planning on working as far up to my date as possible... tho probably no major orders too close just incase.... this month has been terrible and I have had to drop a couple of voluntary things as 18 hour days juat haven't been an option lol.

milford I have actually been pointed towards Airedale .... not sure how northwest you are ? Was also given the option of Bradford but I have been there quite a few times over the last month's for colposcopies and as lovely as they may be parking and organisation/communication has been terrible....

Cautious I was 11 weeks yday and am still watching out for the post every day fingers crossed our letters come.monday :)

ladypug fantastic news :)) glad you don't need to do week 9 again !
