timeis I've also been struggling at work - have felt so ill for weeks and have been dealing with a really heavy workload otherwise could have really have done with taking a couple of sick days. Hope things become easier for you soon.

LadyPug · 26/10/2017 18:57

Hey timeisnotaline I have an early scan booked for this Saturday too!

Elephantgrey · 26/10/2017 19:31

Can I join?

I am week pregnant, 10 weeks tomorrow. Due 25th may. I had my first midwife appointment on Tuesday and am eagerly awaiting my appointment for my 12 week scan.

I have been feeling horrifically sick. I had a day off last week because I couldn't keep anything down not even water. I have a strong aversion to most foods. I can only drink water with lemon in it. It is interesting to read that a lot of you are eating lots and even drinking coffee. I can't even go in the coffee shop at work by the smell makes me sick. Is this normal? Does anyone else feel like this?

So exciting to hear that other people are having scans and finding out they are having twins! It is starting to feel more real now.

LadyPug · 26/10/2017 19:40

Welcome elephant I have a massive problem with coffee and can’t be near it, even the word makes me feel a bit ill! The other morning DH made a coffee from our coffee machine and I could smell it from the bedroom so I closed all of the doors and opened all the windows! Bleugh!

MotherOfBoy · 26/10/2017 20:08

I am the complete opposite been craving coffee and I never normally drink it! Luckily the work coffee machine has decaf!

I’m in Oxfordshire by the way :)

timeisnotaline · 26/10/2017 21:25

Elephant that was me last pregnancy, and if I weren't taking medication I wouldn't be able to get much down this one either, I still can't do tea and coffee- I can't wait for that lovely feeling when you have the right cup of either! While now it would just be bleugh. It's hard when you can't eat because you also lose energy stores very fast and everything is twice as exhausting. I didnt do a full week at work for months last pregnancy, it isn't a choice. But you should ask your gp about some medication if you haven't.

Estrele · 26/10/2017 21:51

:) Thank you Megsmog i agree 're ME.... Like the sound of that book you recommended :) ... have been dreaming about sashimi tooo .... I thought it was off limits but hoping In may have my wires crossed ? 😉
Welcome to elephant I have only thrown up after taking my folic acid pills but constantly feel sick the rest of the time ... though now I get the odd good day ... I do not envy you xxx hope it eases up really soon!!

Welcome and congratulations goldie :) exciting!!!

captainscat that is great news :)) xx

Needmorehands · 27/10/2017 08:46

Sorry to all those who are still feeling sick - hoping it wears off soon.
I'm on the Notts/Lincs border, and am hoping for my 5th homebirth
Is anyone else not sleeping well? I'm shattered most of the time so am usually in bed before 10, but wake about 2 or 3am and take a coupe of hours to settle back to sleep :(

Estrele · 27/10/2017 09:10

Needmorehands I have been exactly the same with sleep for weeks now .... last night i actually managed to go back to sleep again really quickly and this morning it feels like a serious luxury ....I have been thinking about getting some headband earphones and trying to listen to some music as I used to find it really helped to switch my brain off, I dont know if that could help you ? xx

I am outside of Leeds.

HerSymphonyAndSong · 27/10/2017 09:40

For the first time in a good number of weeks I slept through until 5am instead of having a wakeful 2-3 hours in the middle of the night. I feel a lot better but will crash out at 7.30pm I expect. I seem to have the sleeping pattern of a 9mo atm

LadyPug · 27/10/2017 09:43

Same here everyone, struggle to sleep, tossing and turning half the night!

MegsMog · 27/10/2017 10:08

Yup, really broken sleep here despite going to bed by 8. It's not helping the perma-exhaustion! Plus my back is killing me today due to DD sleeping right next to me all night and leaving me a tiny slither of bed (despite being in a super king!)

estrele some sushi is ok, I believe the fish needs to have been frozen first as that removes any harmful bacteria. If it's not been frozen it's a no-go.

I just had my flu jab, REALLY hope it doesn't make me feel foul.

tiramisualwaystiramisu · 27/10/2017 10:13

needmorehands my sleep is terrible atm - I'm falling asleep on the sofa in the evening and then can't get to sleep once in bed. When I do finally fall asleep, I have really vivid and upsetting dreams that wake me up. I'm currently on the sofa hoping CBeebies is a substitute parent this morning as I'm so tired!

Rubyshoes2 · 27/10/2017 11:42

Glad to see it’s not just me. I’ve never had any problems sleeping and now I’m all over the place. Exhausted early evening but then can’t get to sleep until gone midnight. Then I spend a random couple of hrs awake in the middle of the night, eventually get back to sleep and then wake up knackered!

Rubyshoes2 · 27/10/2017 15:16

But something that has cheered me up - NIFTY scan results back. Show low risk for everything and we are having a girl! Desperate for DH to come home from work so I can tell him.

LadyPug · 27/10/2017 18:09

Hoorah! Great news Ruby

I have been feeling loads better today, so good in fact I worried maybe I’m not pregnant! Then 4pm rolled around and I felt like I had been hit by a bus and had a little lie down which turned into a 2 hour nap and now I’m eating chips in bed! Not as dandy as I thought!

cautiousoptimist1 · 27/10/2017 18:53

Great news ruby.

Lady, glad you had a bit of respite from it today. I've had better mornings this week but have felt awful again today. I am having a mild panic attack at the thought of eating chips in bed though!

LadyPug · 27/10/2017 18:56

Hehe it was worth it cautiousoptimist well, until the heartburn kicked in!!

MilfordFound · 27/10/2017 20:26

@elephantgrey ugh that sounds hideous, I was like that last pregnancy. Eventually went to doctor and pleaded for help, was prescribed anti sickness pills and they made a HUGE difference. Stopped being sick, started putting on weight, went back to work. This pregnancy I got the tablets as soon as I found out and while I still feel grotty and nauseous, it's manageable and I'm able to work and look after my daughter.
Pregnancy can make you feel absolutely wretched, people often under estimate how terrible you can feel. I hope the sickness eases off or you find something that reduces it.

MilfordFound · 27/10/2017 20:30

Did I post in this thread about my poop situation? I was having awful unpredictable diarrhoea. Well the iron tablets seem to have helped the situation, I haven't had any emergency dashes to the toilet. Hurrah for iron and solid black poop!

Doublechocolatetiffin · 28/10/2017 10:27

Welcome to goldie and elephant

Lovely to hear so much good news on the scans, I can't believe some people have found out if it's a girl or boy already! I'm going to wait - I like the surprise.

I'm 12 weeks today and feeling so much more normal. I have some energy again hurrah! I may be able to get the house and garden looking normal again.

Ladypug good luck with the scan today - when is it?

For those without children - enjoy the extra hour in bed tonight. For those with - enjoy the extra hour of CBeebies Wink

LadyPug · 28/10/2017 10:43

Thanks doublechocolate it’s this evening! I’m so nervous and excited! Haha team CBeebies here I’m afraid!

HerSymphonyAndSong · 28/10/2017 10:57

Hope all goes well ladypug

My scan is on Tuesday and I am so anxious. Have been feeling rotten this week but I think it was the flu jab making things worse. I feel more human today

HerSymphonyAndSong · 28/10/2017 10:58

Also, I slept for 12 hours last night Shock

I got up to go to the loo three times but went straight back to sleep each time. Feel like a new woman

Kirstipops · 28/10/2017 12:08

Good luck with the scan today ladypug, I kept thinking yesterday was Saturday and wanted to ask how you'd got on!
Welcome goldie and elephant!
Yay milford for the poop situation! I have diarrhoea now and again but it's anxiety related for me, so annoying!!

We're taking my daughter swimming today, then bday pres shopping for my nephew and then a steak stirfry tonight with Strictly, I stood and marinaded the beef this morning. God I'm so rock n roll!
