ATO - in time for easter would be nice but I think May bank holiday is more likely in my case
octo - the baby's just been squeezed and pushed out of someone's birth canal and you think the most trauma they'll have is being dressed in clothes?? Either everyone exaggerates the pain of birth () or I'm in for a shock when it comes to putting his first vest on!

octo · 06/04/2007 17:53

ROFL - its all a myth - there is no pain.

Getting your baby dressed for the first time is actually quite stressful! a) do their arms/legs move in that direction b) will their head not get squashed by the vest? c) how many layers do they need on? d) do they need a hat on? e) do they look cute enough?

octo · 06/04/2007 17:53

and then - do you or don;t you swaddle them?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 06/04/2007 17:56

It is all a minefield!!

Katy44 · 06/04/2007 18:00

"ROFL - its all a myth - there is no pain."
I KNEW it!!! Does anyone remember that thread where I confessed to my secret fantasy?

octo · 06/04/2007 18:04

Tell us again - can't remember.

LesleyR · 06/04/2007 18:05

So sad that silly people with nothing better to do than complain have driven elliek away. Come back soon it won't be the same without you!

Re. the dressing baby thing. DH struggled to help me with my socks today (yes I am that huge)and I had awful visions of him trying to contort a newborn into a vest and sleepsuit.

My hospital baby stuff is all white or beige. We don't know what we're having and I have to say it prevented me from going mad on baby clothes. There's only so much beige you can buy.

kks · 06/04/2007 18:09

So was mine, we didn't know what we were having so bought white and biege. Then was she was born i had pink clothes coming out my ears as everyone bought the baby clothes. I had tons!

lulumama · 06/04/2007 18:11

octo · 06/04/2007 18:13

Will email her for you lulu .... contractions have stopped again!

octo · 06/04/2007 18:14

Last thread title - mn'er got upset by the term 'sodding' - all fine now.

Katy44 · 06/04/2007 18:15

lulumama, I think she will be lurking but just not posting as she has said she will still send round the email updates. So she should see your reply. I will let her know though, thanks.

Katy44 · 06/04/2007 18:16

Ah octo's already done it.
octo - my fantasy was that childbirth really isn't that bad, but they hype it up so you are pleasantly surprised. On your way out, they take you into a little room to explain and make you promise not to let any first timers into the secret! I think I'm going to be in for a shock!

Pinions · 06/04/2007 18:18

Whoever it was then please link them to here, I will be only too glad to "have a word" so to speak.

I have honestly got to say that it does not bother me in the slightest, especially in the case of this title whether anyone takes offence or not.

Ellie I hopw this is a wind up that you're off, bring in on and "let me at 'em".

As they say in RL come and have a go if you think you're hard enough, am getting sick of all this.

MIND YOUR OWN F'ING BUSINESS.

Klaw · 06/04/2007 18:18

Please would someone either email me EllieK's email address or let her know mine please, I've also been chatting with her on Syntometrine thread along with Lulu. (klaw at macmail dot com)

she did say that you all had her email addy.

Thanks in advance.

octo · 06/04/2007 18:20

I like the fantasy - do we get some kind of bribe with it - like chocolate or champagne?

Pinions · 06/04/2007 18:22

I'll send her your email klaw.

Pinions · 06/04/2007 18:24

..and Katy I'm saying nothing, apart from its not hype.

Klaw · 06/04/2007 18:25

Thanks Pinions!

Pinions · 06/04/2007 18:27

You're welcome.

Katy44 · 06/04/2007 18:28

Let me live in my fantasy world pinions! I'll find out for definite soon enough

The other thread is here , it wasn't complaining so much about the 'sodding' word, more the 'sodding babies' - people on the thread pointed out it's offensive, esp. if you've struggled ttc or in pg. It was a fair point, so I created this new thread as quickly as possible. It has all blown over now, unless there's been another created in the meantime that I haven't seen complaining about this thread title!

lulumama · 06/04/2007 18:29

thanks ladies ! octo..am not listening until you are 3 minutes apart

Katy44 · 06/04/2007 18:29

wow, she's strict!

Pinions · 06/04/2007 18:36

Katy fair point. Thats my motto altogether let me live in fantasy world lol.

On the word sodding, didn't I say that there would be someone that would take offence!
I can understand I suppose that people who have problems in the past and all that, but this is a very PERSONAL title to us all in particular, and there are far worse thread titles than that one.

People need to lighten up if you ask me.
