I've also got my scan tomorrow!

Working from home today so about to grab a much-needed nap for my lunch break.

@flatwhite31 you are in my thoughts often. Xx

blinkineckmum · 13/09/2017 14:13

Good luck with the next round of scans! I think I got to hear the heartbeat at 16 weeks with my last 2. That and the usual blood pressure etc.
I got an unexpected day off work today! Both kids in childcare. I think this is the first day I've had with no work and no kids in 3.5 years! I went for a swim - bliss!
Told work yesterday, so most people know now. Very exciting.
Listened to Jeremy Vine on the way back from the swimming pool. A programme about young children dying. Floods of tears. Awful!
Thinking of putting our house on the market imminently. Things could get busy!

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 13/09/2017 14:20

Good luck @NellWilsonsWhiteHair!

@KittyKat73 I've had the heartbeat listened too at 16 weeks in my last pregnancy but didn't for my first 2 so I think it depends on the midwife. Hopefully they will for you!

Kaffiene · 13/09/2017 17:12

@scottishem I am in the Lothians and had my scan on Friday, waiting for a phone call but praying for a letter. I think they told me 3 weeks too. Surely not!!

mummymathsteacher · 13/09/2017 17:23

I've had my 16 week appointment kittykat. Went through blood test results, urine dipped and then listened to the heartbeat.

I believe it's still quite hard to detect at 16 weeks, so they want you that you may not hear anything.

whyhastherumgone · 13/09/2017 18:11

Good luck for scans everyone! Hope the scanxiety doesn't get too bad. Will be thinking of you all :)

We're having a scan as part of the Harmony and even though it will only be a week since I had one, I already know I'm going to be nervous - does it ever go away??

scottishem · 13/09/2017 18:49

@KittyKat73 i heard the heartbeat at 9 weeks although she said I was lucky and was purely down to babys position at the time but they didn't try at 12 week scan. Hoping they do at MW appointment though.

Ahh @Kaffiene I'm in Glasgow. Week today that I had my scan so will let you know when I do finally hear! She told me that if all is ok all the letters just get chucked into one big pile

jacabag · 13/09/2017 20:07

Hi everyone
Hope it's alright to join, I've just had my 12 week scan in my second pregnancy and am due on 17th March.
I have a two year old son, so although I'm looking forward to having a baby again, I'm getting nervous about having two! One is hard work as it is :)
Hope to chat to you all soon - I'll try my best to keep up!
Jac x

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 14/09/2017 08:24

Welcome @jacabag Smile

Good luck to everyone with scans today! I think I've got a nervous stomach this morning Blush

whyhastherumgone · 14/09/2017 08:50

Sending all the good luck vibes to everyone with scans today, looking forward to some pics later on :)

KittyKat73 · 14/09/2017 08:55

thanks ladies!

hopefully the midwife I have will let me have a wee listen! we saw the heart but didnt hear it beat at our 12 week scan.

Goodluck at all the scans this week, I know its an anxious time before it but as soon as you see your wee baby waving back all the worry instantly disappears

thaigreencurry82 · 14/09/2017 10:04

Hi ladies can I join this thread? I was on another one for people due around March but it's moved over to Facebook and I'm not on Facebook.

I'm 14+5 with my first. EDD 10th March. Currently on holiday in Dubai. Main thing I'm thinking is that it's aaaages until the next scan, might get a private one done to sneak another peak.

mrskitty15 · 14/09/2017 13:11

12 week scan all done. Phew! All looks fine and have been moved forward three days so EDD 24th March. All feels much more real now Smile

Brilliant scan pic Kitty! Congrats

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 14/09/2017 14:27

Scan was all okay, 2 healthy non-ID twins.

They put me forward a week to 13+3 so my new due date is 19th of march. That's impossible from my ovulation dates so they must be measuring big!

Lovely scan @mrskitty15, glad it went well Smile

@Sallywiththegoodhurrr

Fab pictures! Congratulations to you too Smile

whyhastherumgone · 14/09/2017 17:28

Aww @sallywiththegoodhurr so exciting. Honestly, the way gestation age changes really confuses me. I'll be interested to see if my Harmony scan tomorrow marries up with the one I had next week....

So pleased it went well for you.

scottishem · 14/09/2017 18:14

Beautiful pictures @KittyKat73 and @Sallywiththegoodhurrr so glad they went well x

mamasiz · 14/09/2017 21:33

Just got combined test results - low risk with 1:100,000 chance of Down's, Edward's or Patau's. I'm in a state of shock! Results from Serenity test expected next week so hopefully that will be further confirmation! Hope everyone gets similar results Smile

whyhastherumgone · 14/09/2017 22:53

Amazing @mamasiz we got 1 in 233 for downs so are booked in for the harmony test tomorrow even though technically classed as low risk on the nhs result.

That's amazing tho i don't think i've ever heard of anyone getting that before

hometownunicorn · 15/09/2017 11:49

Had my scan today, everything looked fine and I just have to wait for blood results. I'm so relieved, I got quite tearful and could really speak.

My EDD has moved forward a bit to 23rd march too, so I'm 13 weeks today.

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 15/09/2017 16:19

How did your scan go @whyhastherumgone?

Sallywiththegoodhurrr · 15/09/2017 16:38

Brilliant @hometownunicorn, glad it all went well Smile

whyhastherumgone · 15/09/2017 17:26

Hi @sallywiththegoodhurr thanks for asking. Scan went well, measuring one day behind but she said that's perfectly fine.
The combined screen at the fetal medical centre put me at 1:7000 for down's syndrome which is much better, just got to wait for the harmony to come back now.

She did highlight the fact that i have low PAP-A Hormone which is what brought my nhs score down (demonstrated on the screen how when she took the additional markers FMC uses away, it came down to 1 in 233 which is what nhs gave us). This is apparently a concern for third trimester as it can indicate growth problems/ placenta problems later on so is worth getting additional scans. Think i'm going to give my midwife a call on monday to see if i need to speak to her or my GP about this - as would be better to get these scans on the nhs obviously if they agree.

Overall i'm feeling much better and as the combined screening came back better i am hopeful that harmony will too!

Baby was being very stubborn and awkward again, refusing to move when she wanted it to, then wriggling the wrong way etc. Really recommend FMC if anyone is considering it by the way, they gave us a really thorough scan and we heard the heartbeat too!

Congrats @hometownunicorn

Excited0803 · 15/09/2017 18:43

Glad you had a positive next scan @whyhastherumgone.

Congrats @hometownunicorn!
