Sock I'm so sorry about your day and for all the other rough ones out there. Had bloods taken today and then 28 week app next Tuesday so hopefully all well be ok. Have started to feel exhausted though and back is aching so much. Just want to sleep all the time! Much love to all x

Topsyloulou · 29/08/2017 18:55

That sounds like a rough day @theotherendofthesockportal. Hope you can have a nice relaxing evening to make up for it. My midwife is always running late, I had a cereal bar in the car before I went in as I knew I'd be a while & im so glad I did, I was over an hour in there today. Even when I book the first appointment of the day she's running late!

Motherhippy16 · 29/08/2017 18:55

Also i was going to ask.... how much are your babies moving? I'm 27 weeks on Thursday and he seems to be really quiet most of the time... then he will have a big burst of energy every other day. Just wondering when people started noticing a pattern. Thank you x

lydiangel83 · 29/08/2017 22:08

Sorry to hear that @theotherendofthesockportal tho glad ur mum could keep you company. I'm tired and emotional a lot - we have a lot going on! @Motherhippy16 I am 31 wks tomorrow and haven't really noticed a pattern :-/

theotherendofthesockportal · 29/08/2017 23:19

I'm just home from the hospital, I had a painful blood thinning injection in my leg. I have to go back for an ultrasound on my swollen leg tomorrow.

I feel like a pin cushion, 2 injections and bloods taken from me today. I'm definitely ready for bed!

Motherhippy16 · 29/08/2017 23:42

Oh that sounds so painful sock.... so sorry. Hope you can rest well tonight. X

lydiangel83 · 30/08/2017 08:24

Ouch @theotherendofthesockportal that sounds thoroughly unpleasant! I hope you can rest today? Xx

Hazandduck · 30/08/2017 16:54

Oh @sock how awful! Hope you are ok and resting, bless your mum, it is true the job never ends, that is half of what keeps me awake at night. My sister told me the other day, even though her babies are now 6 and 4, she still never properly sleeps, you are just always lightly sleeping, ready to spring in to action in case they need you! Hope you feel better soon.

I've been aching lots, had sciatica, and blood test last week at my 28 week appointment confirmed my iron levels are low, so I have got iron tablets to pick up from the pharmacy that I really, really don't want to take because my bowels have only just started to feel normal after months of constipation lol!

Over 29 weeks now, cannot believe I will be 30 weeks on Monday! This shit is getting real guys!

I also survived my wedding in a massive floaty dress on Saturday in a massive heatwave. Considering I spent £100 on umbrellas on the Monday before because it was pissing down, we were incredibly lucky as our wedding ceremony was outside and most of the reception stuff was outdoors too. I actually nearly fainted at one point; blame the dress, sun, and nerves! Other than that, honestly was a dream. I feel so ready now to get properly in to baby mode :D Let the shopping commence!! xxx

theotherendofthesockportal · 30/08/2017 16:55

Thank you ladies for all your messages. I had a scan of my legs today and there is no blood clot. Phew! They want me to be very careful about the swelling and want me to go for a small work every hour to keep active. I'm exhausted now and resting up at home, will go for a walk later this evening.

11 weeks 1 day to due date, I hope this baby comes on time. I've had enough pregnancy now!

butterybollocks · 30/08/2017 18:40

Congratulations haz! You certainly did have a hot day for your wedding!

Good news that it's not a blood clot sock.

I'm struggling at work at the minute as I feel like my brain isn't working - I do a job where I'm expected to know a lot of stuff and basically everyone expects me to know the answer to everything and I just don't feel like I do at the moment.

Glucose tolerance test on Friday - not looking forward to not being able to eat all morning. Thought I might do some work in the docs waiting room as I have to be there for 2 hours but my boss has suggested I just read a book instead - not sure she trusts my judgement when I'm hungry!

lydiangel83 · 30/08/2017 20:50

I got told off by the midwife on Monday - sat up from examination bed using just my abs. Apparently not allowed and I need to roll onto my side and push up with my arms. That would be why my abs have been hurting! Hard to always remember but I forgot this morning when I got up and was immediately in pain... maybe I'll remember now!

Looking for advice ladies. Sorry if TMI. Have had runny number twos for a few days now and tummy a bit rumbly. Feel ok otherwise no nausea/ sickness. On holiday tomorrow for a week and not sure whether to do anything about it - anyone know of any anti diorreah meds you can take whilst pregnant?

izzibee29 · 31/08/2017 08:29

@lydiangel83 two options, call your midwife or speak to a pharmacist you trust. I don't know what mess you could take so I'd advise speaking to someone as if it's still not better after two days it defo needs some attention also could be making you dehydrated.

Zampa · 31/08/2017 09:41

Sorry to hear about everyone's aches, pains and illnesses. I don't think anyone tells you quite what pregnancy does to your body! Hope everyone recovers quickly and fully.

AGnu · 31/08/2017 11:06

Just had my 28w appt. I had to take my DC with me so they got to hear the heartbeat. DS2 thought it was funny, DS1 insists his sister was "being silly making such a silly, loud noise." Grin All fine, other than my BP being a little low & baby's heart rate a little on the fast side. Both just within normal ranges though so not overly concerning. Bump is measuring bang on 28cm at 28+5 which surprised me - I don't feel big enough!

Haz my MW said if I need additional iron I could have a liquid rather than tablets which would be less likely to cause bowel issues. Maybe you could request that instead of the tablets?

AccrualIntentions · 31/08/2017 19:22

Lurker saying hello :) I'm almost 28 weeks and have (luckily) had zero aches and pains so far and still feeling really well. But tomorrow I have the joy of learning to give myself insulin as I have gestational diabetes and haven't been able to control my fasting blood sugar levels. I'd been really hoping to just control it with diet which seemed to work at first, but since then they've just been going up and up. Good thing I'm not squeamish Confused

Hazandduck · 01/09/2017 01:00

Ah @Agnu I am going to ask about that, thank you! I really don't want to go back to the constipation again 😣

Hello @accrual, and welcome! Sorry about the GD that sounds tough. I've heard of some people sticking their needles in the wall and pushing their butt on to it, may be worth a shot...

Thanks for all your kind words, ladies. I didn't want to annoy people with pictures but of course I am showing the world and his wife the pictures, haha, I can't stop looking at them! So yes very happily will bombard you 😄 Xx

theotherendofthesockportal · 01/09/2017 07:35

@Hazandduck lovely wedding photos :) you looked wonderful x

Topsyloulou · 01/09/2017 07:43

Photos are lovely @Hazandduck Looks like you had a beautiful day.

Are any of you with a breech baby suffering badly with heartburn? I was fine until she decided to turn breech last week & I'm now suffering with it quite a lot, even woke up with it this morning. Off to buy some gaviscon to help as it's really putting me off eating at the moment.

Hazandduck · 01/09/2017 08:18

Thank you everyone! 😄 I felt like a big pregnant princess haha!

@Topsy I've been having acid reflux which puts me off wanting to eat past 8pm, feels like the food doesn't go quite down. Baby is laying diagonally with head down so must just be me? Only a couple of times but I've woken up with a mouthful of sick and it was horrible.

You can get Gaviscon on prescription whilst pregnant and it is stronger than normal stuff I think? Hope it works for you! Xx
