Love the photo @GingerHanna :).

So I think it was last week some of you were talking about increased wetness downstairs. At the time I wasn't experiencing it, but the last few days its kicked in, not sure if
It's in part due to this hot spell we're experiencing in the uk, either way ive started to use pantyliners.

Will be 28 weeks on Tuesday- excited to be third trimestering. I think I'm going to hang off from looking at hospital bags etc until late sept, an outlet for cath kidston has opened near us and I'm very tempted...

Zampa · 27/08/2017 18:20

I would strongly encourage the preparation of a hospital bag as early as possible! Whilst I sincerely hope none of us have early babies, it doesn't hurt to be prepared. OH had a bit of a nightmare trying to find me and DD clothes and other bits whilst we were in hospital. I'll be packing mine in late September like @izzibee29 (when I'm 32 weeks).

theotherendofthesockportal · 27/08/2017 18:41

I have had a productive back holiday weekend so far. I've cleaned my whole house, bought a second hand Chicco lullago crib off eBay (by ninja snipering) and bought some furniture for the nursery from ikea. I have terrible sciatica but revealing in my sense of achievement today.

I'm planning to pack my hospital bag during my first week of maternity leave at 33 weeks. Although I'm very confused about what size baby clothes to put in... help?!

lydiangel83 · 28/08/2017 07:46

I'm still sleeping so badly it's really getting to me! Have been away for wkend which is lovely but also had long to do list (baby related and otherwise) running through my head at night. Want to pack hospital bag but will wait until I have all the bits (need some nighties!) when I get back from hols next week and will be 32 weeks. Also got bad hip and back pain which I thought physio was helping with but has come back with a vengeance. I guess putting on 20% extra body weight has some consequences!

lydiangel83 · 28/08/2017 07:47

Pa sorry my message sounded very moany. Also loving my bump and feeling the kicks :)

izzibee29 · 28/08/2017 08:12

@lydiangel83 make sure your back pain isn't a uti. I've been fighting a uti for the past month (had 2lots of antibiotics so far), the only symptom I had was back pain. Xx

Zampa · 28/08/2017 08:15

@lydiangel83 Have you thought about a pregnancy support belt? It might help the pain? Lots in Amazon. Maybe worth asking your physio about?

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/08/2017 09:09

@lydiangel83 I'm there with you for being in pain. And your not being moany at all.

I ended up crying last night with what I think is sciatica. I've just work up and it's still there. I'm cancelling my plans today to have a day of rest and I'm seeing the midwife tomorrow.

I honestly thought pregnancy would be a lovely experience where I grew a bump and glowed. How naive!

izzibee29 · 28/08/2017 10:55

@theotherendofthesockportal sounds awful. Rest up. Thank goodness you'll be able to have a chat with your MW about it tomorrow.

Anyone else cursing this late heatwave??

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/08/2017 10:56

@izzibee29 yes, me! I am cursing the heatwave. What is the weather playing at?! I feel quite hot and unreasonable

lydiangel83 · 28/08/2017 12:41

I wouldn't mind the heatwave if I could just chill out instead of having lots of jobs to do!

butterybollocks · 28/08/2017 13:00

I am caught between a frantic need to do things, and being too tired to do them. The former keeps winning and then I end up aching and exhausted!

I'm not sleeping properly now and jeep getting hip pain or sciatica.

Going to start looking at paint colours for the nursery this afternoon!

stuckinny · 28/08/2017 14:40

@GingerHanna that is a brilliant picture.

Very unproductive weekend for me. Was on my own most of the weekend and had a bunch of stuff I wanted to get done. Instead I did very little other than sit on the sofa! As much as I probably needed the rest it means I have a ton to do during the next week as we need to make space for my family arriving next week.

It's also looking like the house is going to fall through so we're trying to figure out a way for the four of us to survive in my little apartment without killing each other. With the housing market slowing down now it could be a year before we move. Sad

Baby seems to be doing fine. I think he's got lots of ants in his pants. He was non-stop last night.

I'll probably pack a hospital bag the beginning of October. I don't have much clothing that fits so will need most of it up to the day I go into hospital. I'm not too worried about not being organised as I wasn't when I had DS and we managed. I'm sure it can't be any worse this time round. Hmm

lydiangel83 · 28/08/2017 16:34

@butterybollocks i also have bad hip pain it sucks :( we chose nursery paint in a rush and ended up with custard yellow rather than a pale lemon yellow. DH insists he loves it so we are keeping it (as I chose colours for rest of the house). First world problem I know but it is sooo bright!!

butterybollocks · 28/08/2017 17:43

The hip pain is horrible! I didn't have it at all in my last pregnancy but it's keeping me awake at night now.

Sock, forgot to say, I'd suggest newborn size for the hospital bag - it usually goes up to 10 or 11lb so unless you have a whopper of a baby it will fit. We had 0-3 months last time and it was hanging off DD who was 7lb6 and I had to send DH on an emergency trip to mothercare.

theotherendofthesockportal · 28/08/2017 18:32

Thank you @butterybollocks :) I was looking at the clothes with great confusement!

My hip pain has subsided today but I have literally done nothing today apart from boss about DH. Midwife and Anti D injection for me tomorrow.

Motherhippy16 · 29/08/2017 07:20

Hi all! Thanks for the new thread @gingerhanna and what a beautiful baby bump pic! Sorry I haven't been online much have had a summer of report writing to look forward to! Baby boy is coming on really well although he scares me a bit when he doesn't move for a day or so... sometimes he is really active and other days he is pretty chilled but midwife says that's normal. Going to start a little diary about movements I think. Don't seat have a bump as such yet but my boobs have grown to an uncomfortable 30gg!!!!! Hope everyone is well.... much love to all x

Topsyloulou · 29/08/2017 14:25

Hope everyone survived the mini heatwave over the weekend ok. We'd promised DS we'd take him to the natural history museum yesterday, not ideal on a boiling hot day but there was no way we could change it, he is dinosaur obsessed.

Had midwife this morning. Baby has moved & is now currently breech which explains the sore ribs & increase in kicking. She booted the midwife in the ear when she was trying to listen to her heart & was equally as unhappy when she got the Doppler out! My app says from 29 weeks movement is more frequent but less violent, if anything mine is more frequent & more violent! Finally remembered to ask for my matb1 form as well.

Hope everyone else with mw appointments gets on ok today.

lydiangel83 · 29/08/2017 14:39

@Topsyloulou I've been getting proper thumps, mainly at night, and my baby is breeched and I'm 31 wks tomorrow so you're not alone!

theotherendofthesockportal · 29/08/2017 15:39

Hi ladies, my movements have become more violent, looks like the little lady is attempting to do the cha cha slide.

I have had the worse day in a long time. Had a midwife appointment and the clinic was running behind, the appointment was at lunch time so all I had to eat was a couple of chocolate biscuits, which meant my urine sample was full of glucose. The midwife was lovely about it though and told me not to worry.

Had bump measured for the first time and it's well over the 90th centile, again the midwife said not to worry and will measure again in 2 weeks, and she expects me to measure big again which means I get an extra scan and look at baby.

Then onto my anti D injection which was at another clinic which was running behind. So I had the injection and I cried, I blame lack of food and feel like a muppet,

I have another appointment in an hour as I mentioned to the midwife that one of legs feels swollen and I can see purple veins, she said I need to get it checked out incase it's a blood clot.

I feel so overwhelmed and needed a vent on here. Sorry for the epic post.

AGnu · 29/08/2017 16:04

I've hardly sat down all weekend! Spent 3 days rearranging bedrooms so the DC have the biggest room. It means they can fit more than a bed/wardrobe in their room! They're spending much of today collecting their toys from all over the house & arranging them in the IKEA furniture I've built. I'm spending most of today sat on the sofa - I think I'm broken! Major bump-ache & a twinge in my back every time I move in a certain way.

I'm seeing the midwife on Thursday. It seems like forever since I last saw them - they don't pay so much attention for subsequent pregnancies! I'll have to take the DC with me but hopefully they'll get to hear the heartbeat so should be excited!

DuRezidal · 29/08/2017 18:14

Definitely try a support belt. I am down to riding 4 a day now and couldn't do it without my support belt as just kept getting so achey and a really bad stitch too!

butterybollocks · 29/08/2017 18:27

Oh sock that sounds like a rough day, hope you're OK. I had a midwife appt run two hours late a few weeks ago and ended up in tears in the appointment because I was so hot and hungry, so you're not alone.

theotherendofthesockportal · 29/08/2017 18:49

@butterybollocks thank you. The doctor has decided that I may have deep vein thrombosis, I'm waiting at the hospital for some blood results, pooing my pants as they has been talk of a injection to thin my blood. My lovely mum is keeping me company, proof that a mothers job never comes to an end!
