Congrats @stuckinny and @hazandduck!

Am now 28 weeks - feels like quite a milestone to be in the 3Rd trimester. Had a bit of a wobble yesterday talking to DH about breastfeeding vs bottle feeding. I breastfed last time but found it psychology very tough and talking about it took me back there a bit. Just keep telling myself that I'll aim to breastfeed for 6 weeks this time and only carry on after that if it's going ok.

Have decided I should go for the glucose tolerance test having turned it down a few weeks ago, so that's booked for next week.

It's my little girl's last day of school hols today so we've had quite a busy day - I'm completely shattered and hobbling around thanks to sciatica. Looking forward to a quiet few days at work before the long weekend!

AGnu · 23/08/2017 18:19

Hello all, just popping into the new thread quickly!

I've got a crazy few days coming up - it's my first ASD assessment appt tomorrow & then sending the DC to grandparents for the long weekend while we swap all 3 bedrooms round. There's still a lot of tidying & sorting to do before we can start moving furniture & we've got to fit in a trip to IKEA with a loooong list. We've got someone coming to help with moving furniture on Monday so I won't have to lift anything too heavy but I'll probably spend a lot of the w/e building all the flatpacks.

I've been feeling crampy & dizzy today & get really strong Braxton Hicks if I stand up for too long so it could be an interesting weekend! Hmm

Just catching up

Zampa · 24/08/2017 07:28

Morning! Third trimester today! Woo hoo! Grin

theotherendofthesockportal · 24/08/2017 08:59

Yay @Zampa today is the start of the third trimester for me too! I can't wait to meet my baby

pomadas87 · 24/08/2017 10:21

Checking in! Hope everyone's doing well. I'm 27+5 today and currently sitting in the clinic having my glucose tolerance test... this 2 hour wait is dragging!!

Snooz · 24/08/2017 13:17

Total newbie here! Due mid November, moved to a new area last year and don't know anyone I'm really nervous about being lonely after baby arrives! Any tips for making friends as an adult?! Most of my friends I've known since school!

izzibee29 · 24/08/2017 15:34

Hi @Snooz welcome to the group. How about book clubs or nct classes?

Zampa · 24/08/2017 16:28

@Snooz I went to a free baby group run by a local nursery first time around and 2 years later a group of us still meet for dinner and baby get togethers.

lydiangel83 · 24/08/2017 17:09

Welcome @Snooz I feel the same! Where do you live?

lydiangel83 · 24/08/2017 18:27

Does anyone else worry that their baby is not developing properly even tho scans etc all fine? Every time I feel a twinge or bend over in a way I shouldn't I worry I have damaged baby :-/ is this normal? Monitoring kicks etc but not really talking to baby much. Wonder if I have a bit of ante natal depression (had anxiety and depression pre pregnancy just ignored it). Sorry for a bit of a negative post :-/ 30+1 day x

theotherendofthesockportal · 24/08/2017 18:39

@lydiangel83 I too have these thoughts. I suffer with anxiety and have a mental health midwife for this reason. I saw her this morning and told her about my fears which were very similar to yours. She was lovely and reassuring and I came away feeling better. I would advise having a chat with your midwife, that's what they are there for and they have probably heard it before.

I nearly fainted in the hospital having my 28 weeks blood this morning. Best place to have a funny turn I guess!

Had a complete and utter pregnancy brain fart this evening in my local shop. Bumped into an old family friend, called him by the wrong name and referred to his granddaughter by the wrong name 😳 I think he walked away thinking I didn't have a clue who is was. I honestly did my bran and mouth aren't connected. I'm going to have to move house to save bumping him to again and causing more embarrassment aren't I?

AGnu · 25/08/2017 00:07

Yep, I get that anxiety too. Random lower abdo cramps? Couldn't possibly be my IBS, must be premature labour. Ache at the top of my bump? Must be that the placenta's come away & I'm bleeding internally. Can't feel her move this very second? Someone comments that I don't look big enough to be 28 weeks... Basically I think the only way I'd not be constantly anxious is if I were attached to an ultrasound machine 24-7... But then I'd worry about the effect of that much scanning! Hmm

Yes, sock, moving is your only option. Perhaps Timbuktu? Grin

NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown · 25/08/2017 05:40

I can sympathise with the anxiety too. Every time I feel a big movement, I panic that somehow the cord is now strangling the baby. I don't even know if that's physically possible
Third trimester is Sunday for me, can't wait!

lydiangel83 · 25/08/2017 11:52

@AGnu is scanning bad?! @NiceCuppaTeaAndASitDown mine has fits of movement and I worry that they are not healthy fits like baby is having a seizure. Good to know I'm not alone!

theotherendofthesockportal · 25/08/2017 12:44

I'm in so much discomfort today :( had a terrible night of sleeping, only about 3 hours of broken sleep. Once again it feels like baby has her head wedged into my right ribs. No matter what I do I can't get comfortable! Hurrah for a 3 day weekend.

AGnu · 25/08/2017 13:08

lydia The number of scans normally carried out in pregnancy is fine but as far as I know they've never tested the effect of exposure to constant ultrasound waves throughout!

Yy to the thought that a series of jerky movements could be a fit. It really is ridiculous the things that go through our heads!

lydiangel83 · 25/08/2017 14:33

@theotherendofthesockportal I am sorry to hear that but I do feel you, I haven't had a good nights sleep all week :-(

DryHeave · 25/08/2017 16:51

Hello all! Hopping on this thread. Now nearly 28 weeks. Just bought my first (ever) bottle of Gaviscon. And had my first terrible nights sleep last night. I'm definitely feeling third trimester-y!

lydiangel83 · 25/08/2017 17:38

@DryHeave you've done well to get this far without terrible sleep and gaviscon! :)

GingerHanna · 25/08/2017 20:22

Had a growth scan today at 28 weeks. Myoma has shrunk! Yay! However one of Limpet's measurements has gone from above average last time to average this time - could just be a measuring error or could be slow down in growth. Back in three weeks to see how he's doing. Not too worried really as I have had enough scans this pregnancy (six or seven so far I think, maybe more) to know that it's a very fallible system!

They wanted me back in two weeks but that's the day we fly back to the UK for our wedding!

Been prescribed some anti reflux sickness stuff which will pick up in the morning. On advice to sleep propped up and can be given stronger meds if needed. Looking forward to this stuff as have been throwing up with reflex for the last hour and really fed up. Gaviscon does not cut it any more! Booo!

lydiangel83 · 25/08/2017 21:22

That's good news @GingerHanna and agree measurements are mega inaccurate!

Is anyone else still doing much cardio? I tried 30 mins on cross trainer earlier and really hurt my hip - an old running injury - which is disappointing. I think the extra weight is starting to take its toll (and definitely Bt because I've been too lazy to do my physio exercises!) Hmm

DuRezidal · 26/08/2017 07:29

I am a really poor sleeper at the best of times and regularly take prescriptive sleeping tablets. Obviously these can't be taken at the moment so I have invested in some Bachs Rescue Remedy Night and I have to say it has helped! I used it in my last pregnancy too.

I have literally not stopped recently as work has been completely manic. I am trying to catch up from having 4 weeks off following my broken leg (could only manage 4) so everything has just been a bit too much.

Yesterday I drove a 12 hour round trip to drop my stallion off with my trainer for the next few months so hoping that's my last long drive in the Horsebox now!

I am 29 weeks today Grin

lydiangel83 · 26/08/2017 08:36

Wow @DuRezidal you've been busy although glad your leg is better as it sounded horrific when it happened. I'll look at the Bach's stuff had written off herbal remedies as prescription stuff barely worked when I wasn't pregnant!

MrsJB1987 · 26/08/2017 10:00

Just checking in! Been keeping an eye on what's been happening so just an update really! I am 27+1 today! As a teacher in Northern Ireland I haven't worked since end of June and as much as it's been great having the rest I am now not sure how I am going to cope going back next week! Sleeping just isn't happening and I have pretty much moved to the spare room. Routine has gone out the window because I am so tired! Hoping to work up to Halloween holidays and really want to make it that far!Confused
Bump is good - I have a very active baby which is lovely and exciting (most of the time!). I have joint hypermobility syndrome and I am struggling with the spd pelvis pain. After two weddings last week I cudnt walk for 2 days with the pain! Getting baby things organised is going alright and getting there bit by bit!

Hope this doesn't come across as too Moany and negative as I am super excited to meet my little one and know this is all just part of the process and journey! And writing this down after reading some of the stress/pain/life events you are all going through I realise I'm going not too badly!

I love reading all your posts and as much as I don't reply or have an input very often / thank u for sharing and letting me be a part of this mad crazy journey with u all!!
