Congrats lydia! It took us a week & being readmitted to hosp to get DS1 to feed. Got there in the end though! Smile

So, who's going to be the first to have their baby in November?! We've got our boiler being replaced today & planning a home birth so I'm expecting to go into labour at any moment! Grin

AccrualIntentions · 01/11/2017 08:44

Congratulations lydia, so fast!

I can't believe it's november. I got stressed yesterday when I realised next time the recycling bin gets collected I'll have a baby Grin

butterybollocks · 01/11/2017 09:10

@AGnu our boiler is being replaced today too! Work has been going on all week and we have no heating or hot water. It's driving me crazy, fed up of having someone in the house. Fingers crossed for you that you hold off labour until yours is done!

theotherendofthesockportal · 01/11/2017 09:25

Congratulations @lydiangel83 - wonderful news to wake up to. Don’t be hard on yourself about the feeding, even the best laid plans can go astray. Don’t let this upset your amazing achievement of bringing a little person into the world. Well done you xx

@AGnu @butterybollocks I really hope your boilers are sorted before your babies arrive.

AGnu · 01/11/2017 09:58

buttery it's a pain, isn't it?! They've only been here about 90 minutes & already I'm desperate to have my house back! I hardly slept last night & I'm so tired! They've got to put thermostat things on all the radiators too so it's not even like I can shut myself away in my room for a snooze. As soon as they go for their lunch I'm going to insist DH takes control of the DC so I can have a quick nap!

Motherhippy16 · 01/11/2017 18:25

Congratulations @lydiangel83!!!! So pleased for you! Can't believe we are in novemeber..... am due on the 30th so more likely I'm going to have a December baby. Much love to all x

DuRezidal · 01/11/2017 20:02

Our little boy arrived at 2.02 today at 38 + 4.

It all happened very quickly so my plan of am epidural did not quite materialise! I ended up delivering on just gas and air

AGnu · 01/11/2017 20:07

Wow! Congrats Du! How are you feeling?

AccrualIntentions · 01/11/2017 20:17

Babies coming thick and fast now we've reached November! Congratulations Du, hope you're all doing well.

izzibee29 · 01/11/2017 20:25

@DuRezidal congratulations- wonderful news and well done for doing it just on Gas and Air x

theotherendofthesockportal · 01/11/2017 20:35

Congratulations @DuRezidal - lovely news!! Have you chosen a name?

Zampa · 01/11/2017 21:04

Congratulations @durezidal and well done! Inductions seem to produce babies quickly!

Hazandduck · 01/11/2017 23:32

Ah congratulations @Durezidal! Another speedy arrival; well done! They really are arriving thick and fast 😃 What is the tally so far; 2 boys, 2 girls? So exciting! Xx

Topsyloulou · 01/11/2017 23:36

@DuRezidal congratulations!!! Hope you are both doing well.

Love reading the news of all the arrivals but it's also making it very real!

It's a full moon at the weekend & there tends to be an increase in births around a full moon so it could be a busy weekend!

Bearest17 · 02/11/2017 08:15

Congrats to all those whose babies have been born! Lovely news!

Does make it all seem so near, but still so far. I’m not due till the very beginning of Dec, but have GD so may be induced earlier.

GingerHanna · 02/11/2017 08:29

Congratulations @DuRezidal! So very happy for you.

We have had a pretty awful 24 hours. Emergency admission to hospital yesterday morning as Joseph has/had severe jaundice.

He was loosing weight fast, lethargic, too tired to eat properly and couldn’t get his temperature up. Queue all afternoon and night in an incubator under blue lights with blood tests every six hours to check progress.

I broke. Absolutely broke. DH has been hit hard also and we’ve spent the night sleeping next to the incubator.

To cut a long story short he has turned the corner this morning. Bellarubin levels are now at acceptable levels and he has started putting on a little weight! For today he will be in the incubator but no blue light to see how his levels do and then another test in the afternoon to decide next steps.

I so desperately want to go home but will not leave this room until he is properly well again.

We’ve also managed to pick up some clothes in preemie size so it is much nicer dressing him now as he doesn’t look quite so overwhelmed!

Pictures are of him on he way to hospital (the bear suit is a size 62 and hat underneath a 59 so huge on him), in the incubator yesterday and then looking much better this morning.

@GingerHanna I am so sorry to hear that you have had such a stressful worrying time. I’m sending you a big hug! I know being in hospital sucks, I was climbing the walls by day 5, but at least Joseph is getting all the care he needs at the moment.

When we were in hospital we told that Bea had clicky hips and needed to wear a harness, I broke at that point. I felt a mum guilt that I hadn’t done enough to protect my little girl. I guess that this is a similar thing to how you feel? After coming out the other side, I will advise you to be kind to yourself, you are doing your best.

I do like the picture of Joseph with his arms above his head. He looks very chilled considering everything that is going on.

butterybollocks · 02/11/2017 09:07

Congratulations @durezidal!

Sorry to hear you've had such a tough time @gingerhanna, hope little Joseph continues to pick up. Sounds like you're in the right place and he's being well looked after - but hope you can get home soon.

Sock, bea was breech wasn't she? Clicky hips is just one of those things with breech, nothing you could have done differently.

Hazandduck · 02/11/2017 09:15

Oh god @Ginger how awful and terrifying for you! I must say Joseph is absolutely gorgeous. I agree @sock that the picture of him looking very chilled with his arms up is so sweet. So glad he has turned a corner this morning and hoping you can all get home really soon! Xx

theotherendofthesockportal · 02/11/2017 09:49

@butterybollocks thank you for your kind reassurance, I am impressed with your memory, you are right, Bea was breech. She had a scan of hips last week and the doctor said she was borderline for treatment and we have to go back in a month for another scan. My husband was also a breech baby and was born with dislocated hips, the hospital are paying extra attention to us due to the family history.

How are we all feeling today? Does anyone feel like they are about to give birth today?

AccrualIntentions · 02/11/2017 10:06

@GingerHanna that sounds really scary for you and your DH, glad that Joseph seems to be doing well today, and the photos are adorable.

@Bearest17 similar here, due date is 25/11 and I feel miles away from anything happening, but I'm being induced at 38 weeks for GD. I completely understand why; it just feels too soon!

I have my (hopefully final) scan this afternoon so will get an official date.

AGnu · 02/11/2017 10:38

Glad Joseph is doing better Hanna! Fx you can get home soon!

I feel dreadful. I thought I might be coming down with something yesterday then woke last night after about 3hrs sleep with a sore ear & swollen sinuses. I didn't get back to sleep until after DH got up for work. I'd asked him to bring me a cuppa but was asleep when he did so he put it in a thermos for me! The DC let me sleep for an hour but I'm still so tired that I just feel tearful all the time. It's an especially bad combination given that DS1 had a bad experience at a new group yesterday & is still a bit on edge today - meltdowns over everything! DH has agreed that he might be able to take a half day & split the time between today & tomorrow so he'll be able to help out later. We're so lucky that he can do flexi-time at short notice! He's not often willing to though so he must be worried about me!

Good luck with your scan Accrual!

AccrualIntentions · 02/11/2017 11:09

Thanks @AGnu@ hope you feel better soon, that sounds no fun at all Sad

Hazandduck · 02/11/2017 14:18

Sounds awful @Agnu :( your DH sounds very thoughtful and attentive though. Really hope you feel better soon. Xx

Good luck @Accrual for your scan today x

Hazandduck · 02/11/2017 14:20

@Sock haha no I definitely don’t! I had twinges Monday and Tuesday but as the week has gone on I just feel like it won’t happen. Have done my chores so just on the sofa reading a book. X
