@GingerHanna you are doing well! Remember to be kind to yourself, your life has completely changed. I’m having a lie in this morning as my husband is on paternity this week, he and Bea are bonding together. My cats are curious about the baby but keep a respectful distance.

I’m 39+2. I’ve got my induction booked for a week from today, at 40+2! I cannot wait! The gestational diabetes diet will be over soon! My mom arrives from the States on Saturday, my MIL from London on Sunday. I’m actually hoping I go into labour before they arrive so I don’t have to organise two guests in my home while I’m in the hospital. Hoping to make a BA announcement in a little over a week.

1moreday · 31/10/2017 11:59

Hi ladies, 37 weeks and have had a really crampy stomach with lots of bowel movements for the last 2 days. Was told at my midwife appointment last week that baby’s head wasn’t engaged. Is this normal at this stage? Hmm

butterybollocks · 31/10/2017 13:28

@Amd724 my section is booked for a week today and I cannot wait to wave goodbye to gestational diabetes! I've packed oreos and shortbread biscuits in my hospital bag and I'm planning to send my DH to get me crisps Grin

DuRezidal · 31/10/2017 13:59

I have to go for a growth scan this afternoon as baby has dropped to the 10th centile

ValentineFizz · 31/10/2017 15:30

Hi @1moreday l saw MW last week at 37+6 and head was not engaged then, she told me some won't engage until contractions force them into position.....

@DuRez hope scan goes ok

I have induction booked for Friday at 39+1 - can't wait to meet this wee person!

Zampa · 31/10/2017 15:47

Can't believe how imminent some births are! I've (hopefully) still got 3 weeks to wait!

@lydiangel83 has been quiet ... Are you in labour?!

Hope scan goes well @Durezidal.

AGnu · 31/10/2017 16:19

Anyone else getting the fanjo daggers? Pretty much every time I stand up it's like all the weight thuds down onto my cervix & I have to stand really still for a minute until it passes. Earlier it was so bad that just for a moment it crossed my mind that she might be crowning! You do hear stories of women giving birth in their sleep or not knowing they're in labour until the head comes out...! No such luck though, probably just a trapped nerve or something. She wasn't even at all engaged when we saw the MW last week but I think by the time you get to your third they can engage right before labour starts.

I've started drinking raspberry leaf tea now which is nicer than I was expecting. I'm also expressing colostrum & the nipple stimulation should help get things started when she's ready to come. Nearly 38w now & am simultaneously fed up of waiting & freaking out that I've forgotten how to do the newborn stage & what on earth am I going to do with yet another baby?! Hmm

Can't wait until she's about 6m+ & my hormones finally start to settle!

Topsyloulou · 31/10/2017 16:36

Hope the scan goes well @DuRezidal. When mw measured by bump 2 weeks ago she says I'd dropped to 10th centile. Cue panicking & a night of no sleep. Had a scan the next day & everything was fine, still tracking at 50th centile. She measured me 3cm too small again this week but not concerned after the last scan. When I saw the consultant he says he wouldn't have scanned me after 1 measurement being behind.

Yes to the daggers @AGnu. Been out with my mum today & she was getting a bit worried I was going into labour as I had to stop a couple of times & do a bit of pantibg. She suggested we go & wander round John Lewis in case my waters broke!

DS had his first day at preschool today & I've said all along I want to get past today & then if she wants to make her own way out rather than wait until elcs on Monday that's fine. It's my birthday on Thursday & my mum has said from the outset baby will arrive on my birthday. I already share it with a close friend & Dnephew, I don't want to share it with my DD too!

DuRezidal · 31/10/2017 17:04

Looks like I will be induced either tonight or tomorrow...

izzibee29 · 31/10/2017 17:58

Woweee ladies it’s all kicking off.

Good luck to those being induced soon. Can’t wait to see more babies arriving!!

Re fanny daggers. I have started to get these (37weeks today) were so uncomfortable with them yesterday that hubby joked - is this it, are we having a baby. Cue my upside down smile at him.

butterybollocks · 31/10/2017 18:28

Ooo good luck @durezidal!

Omg yes to the fanny daggers. It HURTS! It's just when I'm walking but can stop me in my tracks. Feels like the baby is poking my cervix.

I've been for my pre op appointment today - bit stressful as they have advised me to eat a really carby meal the night before my section and then have energy drinks full of sugar on the day. This is totally at odds with the gestational diabetes diet and they sent a Dr in to try to explain as I had lots of questions and got a bit upset. I'm not convinced it's completely without risk but feel slightly reassured.

theotherendofthesockportal · 31/10/2017 19:32

Good luck @DuRezidal

Motherhippy16 · 31/10/2017 20:31

Good luck for those being induced.... I can't believe it's all starting to happen now! I'm only 35+5 So I'm feeling very behind you all! Had mw today and am going for a blood test have had itchy hands feet and tummy. Sure everything will be fine but relieved they are doing things when I mention them. Baby is head down and all curled up... strong heartbeat. Have not had any fanny stabs yet Grin although definitely feel baby when he moves lower.... much love to all x x x x

Hazandduck · 31/10/2017 22:50

Wow it is all happening on here!
Hope scan goes ok @Durez, and best of luck for the inductions and upcoming csections!
Had Midwife today and Baby is engaged, she gave me lots of tips on how to get Baby moving, one of which was sitting the wrong way round on a chair?? Never heard that but tried it for a bit this afty, am just having a raspberry leaf tea now too.
Yes I get the Fanny daggers 😂 I have to stop and breathe they are so sharp and sudden! And I have had a dodgy tum for a few days too.
Made this t shirt tonight, happy Halloween November Gang! Xx

theotherendofthesockportal · 31/10/2017 23:36

@Hazandduck I adore your t-shirt. I never wore anything to attract attention to my bump as I was too self conscious. You look fab!

GingerHanna · 31/10/2017 23:40

Good luck @DuRezidal I will be thinking of you

Congratulations @lydiaangel83! Lovely news. Hope you're OK and feeding has gone ok overnight (DD didn't feed for 12 hours when she was born - stressful but they syringe fed her overnight and she got going after that - hope that's reassuring for you).
