less contraversial one!

Clarice it doesn't really hurt as such, its just the thought of it all more than anything. And also the numb feeling which is there for ages afterwards. I am going to try and brave it this time I think. And yes I feel like a time bomb too.

thePA · 31/03/2007 22:35

by the way clarice, it's EllieK

Pinionsrus · 31/03/2007 22:36

Didn't know that they were that good? Are you supposed to buy one or it is better to hire one?

Pinionsrus · 31/03/2007 22:40

Looking on ebay now............

thePA · 31/03/2007 22:41

i have a TENS machine but i didn't find it helped last time, that might be cos i use one alot for back pain too tho

if you plan on ever haaving more then buy one, if not i think it's more economical to hire one

Pinionsrus · 31/03/2007 22:44

Where do you hire them from exactly?

Pinionsrus · 31/03/2007 22:46

Can you tell I'm panicking lol.

Pinionsrus · 31/03/2007 22:52

Oh well off to bed and then I won't have to think about it at all.

Sweet dreams everyone x

thePA · 31/03/2007 22:52

i know boots hire them out

and i think bounty do too

Katy44 · 01/04/2007 08:08

Pinions I just hired mine from boots - link . They send it for 3 weeks before your due date, or straight away if you hire later than that. Mine arrived yesterday. You get a freepost envelope to send it back, one pack of batteries in the machine and one spare pack. It looks all fairly easy to use, although you do have to read the instructions first. You get it for 4 weeks, and then can have a 2 week extension if you need it if you let them know before - they give you a number to ring. Think if I haven't delivered on my due date I'll be ringing for the extension!

Katy44 · 01/04/2007 08:10

I had some excitement last night - lots of lower back pains and bump cramps. Thought it might be the start of something but it doesn't look like it as they've gone now- must have just been the way I was sitting. Anyway, it's convinced me I need to pack my bag today!!

Katy44 · 01/04/2007 08:11

CD - hope your DD1 had a good night's sleep last night and you all have a better night tonight!

CaptainDippy · 01/04/2007 08:41

Morning - popping in quickly before shower and then off to church, will be back this PM, don't you worry!

DH and I fell asleep on the sofa before 10pm last night!!!! We are soooo oooollllddddd - no staminia - I felt quite sad!!

Clarice - Soooooo sorry to hear about the piles. [hugs] You poor poor thing. Praying they would ease for you sweetie. Not nice on top of everything else.

Oh, and just to clarify .....

Yes - I did go down a slide yesterday!!!!

Mad as a badger .....

I'm borrowing my friend's TENS this time - never used one with the last two; but had the last two on only Gas and Air - so figuring it might help me go without for a bit longer as I seem to have quite a high pain threshold ....

Thank you for your kind comments about DD1's sleep habits - Thinking a night light might be the way ahead ..... !!? Only trouble is, my girls share a room, so don't want to disrupt DD2 too much, bless her.

Best go .....

Emmymummy · 01/04/2007 08:46

Morning - have hired a TENs from here - a bit cheaper than Boots. Should arrive this week, so will let you know....

Have had, & continue to have dreadful lower back pain. Have been laying in bed with a hot water-bottle on my back. Is this a sign I wonder, or just something that's going to drag on for the next few weeks? The latter I bet.

1B3 - Z & L are absolutely beautiful. I'm sure you are very proud & they make me feel very broody!

Well have got shed loads of exciting house jobs to do this morning, and then off to my P's for a roast at lunchtime. Yum! Hopefully will get to put my feet up then. Can't believe I still have 2 days left at work - am soooooooo not wanting to go in anymore as I still keep getting emails asking me to do stuff. I just feel like replying 'go away, not interested' - just want to clear my desk and go home & lie down.

Katy44 · 01/04/2007 08:50

Emmymummy, I bet you're looking forward to being off! I finished last Friday and found the last week really hard.

Morning - it's APRIL!!!!!
Emmy - I bought a TENs from the same company, it's seen me, both sisters and 3 friends through labour so far! Am waiting for my parents to bring it back up from London & have ordered some new pads as my sister had it on for over 12 hours! Hope they arrive before I go into labour.

1b3, your twins are so beautiful, thanks for sharing the pics.

CB, you poor thing with your piles. The indignities of late pregnancy never cease.

I have to confess am getting twinges of jealousy at you first timers. I LOVED mat leave first time - after working full time since graduation to have those weeks off to enjoy my bump and impending motherhood was really magical. I have to say it's less magical this time and I just want it out NOW !

octo · 01/04/2007 10:12

I'm back!

Had lovely day out with the boys yesterday at Bristol Zoo - spent most of the time looking for parrots - no interest in lions or penguins - just parrots! DS2 got his head stuck in the hole one of those things you put your head through to have your picture taken- very funny - bless him! DH got fleeced in the shop afterwards - £24 for two cuddly parrots But was lovely day out. Went out for dinner to friends last night - managed to stay out til midnight

My brother and his family (3 boys) are due here in an hour - think chaos, whirlwinds, total destruction ..... going to give them curry for lunch then have my relaxation class tonight - think may need it ...

LOvely photos 1B3 - very very very cute indeed - came over all broody!

No more progess with Ernie - and don't want an april fools baby!

Maveta - I am experiencing nappy envy!

Emmymummy · 01/04/2007 10:19

Oh my goodness Octo, what a busy weekend you're having. I'd be keeling over if that was me! Is there a specific reason for the curry (i.e. is it a hurry up baby curry)?

What is this parrot obsession all about?

Liath - glad the TENs from that company was good - I'm always slightly warey of handing credit card details over to internet companies, so it's nice to know someone else has used them .

Don't know what's wrong with me today. Have shouted at Em countless times, feel exhausted, want to clean everything, hurts to walk etc etc.... DH is not here today unfortunately so am resigned to being a grumpy old cow all day!

YvieE · 01/04/2007 10:46

Morning All

1B3 the twins are absolutely beautiful (and i love the blankets they are in).
I can't remember are you home yet?

CB - Sorry about the hamerroid (sp?) pain you are going through - something you really don't need at this stage of the pregnancy.

Pinons - I hired mine from mamatens, I think i got it for 24.50, but exactly the same scenario as Katy mentioned for the hiring of the boots one.

Had a baby shower yesterday organised by my sister, saw a lot of friends that I hadn't seen in a while, ate loads of food and cake and got loads of prezzies

eca · 01/04/2007 11:01

hi all

happy april fools day! Was toying with the idea of the "I've gone into labour" fool for my family - but think the ensuing chaos and confusion would not be worth it! Sis would probably be 2hrs down the motorway before realising it was a joke!

CB - oooh, you poor love. Pain, pain! Ouch! I would definately consider the epidural. Am a first timer, but doesn't all the pushing in labour agrivate the condition as well? Go for the easy option, you sound like you've been through so much already. xxxxx

CD - lol at "mad as a badger"!!!!

Octo - glad you're back with us. ds sounds very cute with his addiction to parrots!

Emmy - that's where i hired my tens from. Came really quickly and in a lovely little pack. Seems a good deal. Hope you make it through last couple of days at work ok. Surely you're meant to be sending e-mails saying ' i don't care anymore, sort it yourself' at this stage!!??!!

Yvie - babyshower, sounds lovely. Glad you had a nice time.

Morning liath, lucewheel and katy! Hope you're enjoying your sunday mornings!

Sun is shining here and it's lovely. Am thinking about trying to head off to the coast for some sea air this afternoon, it's only about 3/4hr away, but we hardly ever make it there. Will see what dh thinks. Planted some bright primulas in some pots yesterday and they are making the garden look very cheerful. Now I'm wanting to do some more gardening. Bump seriously gets in the way though!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/04/2007 11:17

Morning all. Hope everyone is happy as Spring lambs!

No more babies then overnight??

CB, you have been through the ringer haven't you. Touch wood, I have never had piles, but it sounds awful. Re the epidural. I am scared to death of needles, but as Ellie said, there is so much else going on, plus you have your back to the thing literally, that you don't see it. The relief it brings is just amazing.

Emmy, hope your last days at work go well.

Runny, hope this is the start of things for you.

Hello to everyone else who I have failed to mention.

I am knackered today. Was awake for about 2 hours in the night, as had really painful twinges. I really thought it was the start of things, even though I am not due for another 4 weeks. Like Katy, it has now made me think I must get bags packed!!

Anyway, have a lovely day all, and see you later. xx

thePA · 01/04/2007 11:19
