So I wasn't the first afterall! I hope baby Patrick is doing well, how early was he?

Congrats to all Ooooogs and Mammyjo and anyone else I have missed!

I haven't been able to get online as we have had problems with our leccy. We have had two days of intermittent power and the fusebox (or whatever it is) trips randomly. We have had this before and replaced the fusebox just after Xmas so it is highly annoying, not to mention inconvenient

My update for the week is that so far everything has gone really well. DH goes back to work tomorrow so we will see how I manage the mornings then, eeeek! Leo is an absolute joy, he is a really lovely baby, no trouble at all.

I can't put him down though, cuddley boy syndrome??? I had the same with DS, so he spends most of the time being lugged about in the sling which is a whole lot better than listening to him grumble in his chair. He also, apparantly, does not 'do onions', anytime I have eating anything oniony he has screamed for an hour in the night with wind pain, bless him So now jsut avoiding them and he is fine now.

Also, I found out that DS has got into the school we want to transfer him to which is good news Just waiting to hear tomorrow or Tuesday whether DD has a nursery place in September before we can accept and get things organised.

I think that is pretty much all the news from me

That's all folks!

thePA · 01/04/2007 11:59

I think he was 34 weeks WCL

and eca , tho it is very blowy out so there'd be a strong seabreeze, maybe an excuse to stay in PJ's

thePA · 01/04/2007 12:00

great news on the school WCL

i had to avoid apricots when bf matthew, gave him awful wind

runnyhabbit · 01/04/2007 12:19

Morning everyone

Nothing much to report here. Baby still in place, and not showing any signs of wanting to come out. Told dh I might need sex later Purely for starting labour, obviously
It is really sunny here, but very very blowy. Lovely for drying clothes though. Ds is "helping" dh with the gate for our drive. Very funny watching them - think dh understands how it can take twice as long to do anything when you've got a little helper
CB - that sounds really painful. Had an epidural with ds, and I think its one of those things that sounds worse than it actually is. You can't see anything being done, and if its going to make the birth a better experience for you, then go for it.
WCL - lovely to hear from you Great news about school.
Liath - think it was you that said about Weetabix when your dd had hand foot and mouth. Tried ds with some yesterday, and he wolfed it down, then decided he wanted some of mummy's toast - his appetite is now back, thank god!

Really, really need to order my TENS machine. Emmy - think I ordered mine for ds from that website, and they were very good. Didn't charge me when we returned it a few days late either.

Got to go, apparently its getting too dangerous for ds to help dh

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/04/2007 12:23

Hiya WCL, glad things are going so well. What a pita though re the electricity. Not what you need. Great news about the school for your ds as well. Happy Days!

mammyjo · 01/04/2007 15:14

Hello! Just popping in quickly to say hi and to thank everyone for their congratulations. Ffion and I got home yesterday, her blood cultures were negative meaning she did not have strep b which was such a relief so no more antibiotics and home! Bit of a shock to have such a quick labour to be honest. Called the midwife at about 7.15 on the Wednesday morning after an hour of worsening pains. She examined me just before 8am at home to find I was already 7cms dilated! Got into delivery suite by 8.30am by which time the contractions were bloody painful! I did get some antibiotics in but not enough time before she was born to be effective unfortunately. Used only gas and air for pain relief and Ffion May was born at 10.10hrs that same morning. Really surprised and absolutely elated that we have a little girl. She is beautiful and I cant stop kissing her! Ds adores her and is in there changing/bathing etc! Finding it extremely amusing that I am giving her milk from my boobie!! Breast feeding going ok so everything pretty good here and I am feeling fairly well, just tired.

Love to you all here, havent had chance to go through the whole thread but hope everyone is doing ok. Its good to be back.

mammyjo · 01/04/2007 15:31

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/04/2007 16:44

Hi Mammyjo, what a quick labour - fabulous! So glad all is well.

Runny, hope your online shop goes ok! I have been using Tesco on-line for over 4 years, and it is the best thing on earth!

Still at Mum and Dad's, but heading home later on.

Hope everyone is having a lovely Sunday. xx

Bramshott · 01/04/2007 17:18

Hi guys - just popping in quickly. Welcome home Mammyjo and 1b3. Presume Ooogs is still in hospital? Good luck to Dooby and Ange and anyone else who knows they're having a section in the next few days.

All still going well here. Orla is a darling, and is feeding well (although every 2 hrs at night which I guess is to be expected in the early days - need tired emoticon!). DH is still off work until Wed which is nice - so Wed will be my first day alone as a mum of 2 - argghhh! Spectacular bad parenting yesterday as Orla managed to fall of the sofabed in the time it took me to get a pillow for Niamh. She seems fine, but it knocked my confidence a bit.

Haven;t been on much, not because I've been doing anything more exciting, but because I am painfully aware that DD1 now has to share me with a baby (although she has been pretty good), and I feel guilty if she has to share me with a computer too!!

Thinking of you guys who are in the last few weeks. Have to say (and I know I am biased as I had an easy labour and no complications) it is SOOOOO nice not to be pregnant any more!!

Emmymummy · 01/04/2007 18:04

Hello Bramshott - I want to not be pregnant anymore too. Can't you send me some 'baby come out' vibes? Surely my little one wants to come out to all this lovely sunshine?

Been at my parents for lunch. My mum has informed me that her & dad might be going away on hols to Spain or somewhere at the start of May. Good timing huh with bubs due on 25th April. . I'm not angry or anything, just find it a bit odd that they'd be considering it. Oh well, each to their own I guess. I have obviously said to mum that its entirely up to her, but that I cannot predict when the baby will make an appearance. She suggested caster oil to me to get things moving along! (S'OK, she was joking). I just know that if the baby arrives when they're away mum will be upset, particularly as MIL will get to meet her first. Parents huh?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 01/04/2007 18:21

Bramshott, how lovely to see you, and I am so glad all is going well.

Hi Emmymummy, I too no longer want to be pregnant! My entire body aches from the weight of it all.

I hope your parents are around for the new baby - I have to say I would be gutted if mine were away and the out-laws got to meet their grandchild first.

Anyway, had better head. Got to leave the comfort of my parents and head home. Feel quite sada, as I love being here. Dh and B home at about 9.00 ish tonight, and whilst I am looking forward to seeing them, I feel really nervous as well.

Hope to be back on later, but it depends whether sodding TalkTalk have sorted themselves out and I can get access yet. There will be hell to pay if I can't!

If I can't, best of luck to those having c sections this week.

Hugs to all. xx

CaptainDippy · 01/04/2007 18:26

Hey guys - Feeling FULL here, DH made the girls and I a yummy pasta bake AND apple crumble and custard for pudding!! Bloated. Bleurgh!!

Glad your hub is being so good today Birdie - hope you have enjoyed your time out, sweetie!

Glad you are home and Ffion is doing so well mammyjo, enjoy your Babymoon!

Same to you too Bramshott hon! Don't worry about wee Orla falling off the sofa - it is easily done, esp when you are trying to juggle more than one - Both of mine have been dropped down the stairs in their car seats at under 2 weeks old.

Emmymummy - Your parents could sooooo be my in-laws!!! No consideration for us in anything they do / plan - they've been on countless holidays at super inconvienient times when DH and I could REALLY have done with a bit of help / support. We've kind of gotten used to it and don't really rely on them EVER! (Have other people on stand-by when I go into labour this time cos just can't guarentee they won't have a luncheon or something super important to attend at a crucial moment ......) So [hugs] Bit of a bummer ....

Have a wee message from Oooggs for you guys:

"Wow! A thread title with my name on it! I am impressed. I am still in hospital, but have managed to read up to date with the threads. Erin is not hot on feeding in any shape or form. Jack is breast-feeding really well. Unable to post at the mo, but will fill you all in when I can. Thanks for all the well wishes, it really picks you up when you have had very little rest! Why do we do it!!?"

Bless her!

Gotta go and help DH with the DD's ....

LesleyR · 01/04/2007 18:29

I'm all over the place at the moment. I heard an hour ago that my sick friend has probably only hours left to live. I'm in Leeds and she's in a hospice in Newcastle. I know that even if I set off now it's likely I wouldn't see her before she passes. DH has told me he'll take me up there if I want to go but we'd have to come back on Tuesday morning. Friends who are there have told me she's heavily medicated and has her family around her and that there's a lovely calm feeling about the place where she is which has been a comfort. I don't know what to do!
I spoke to her earlier this week and feel happy that she knows how I feel about her. I'm thinking that I'll need to go up there for her funeral and don't want to spend to long away from home I'm due a week tomorrow and have had niggly pains all week.
I know it seems odd that I'm on MN at a time like this but DH has gone out for some air and I'm climbing the walls waiting for news.

Katy44 · 01/04/2007 18:34

Oh Lesley, I'm so sorry to hear about that
It depends how strongly you feel you need to see her for one last time - it sounds to me as though you've already said goodbye. Especially if you're unlikely to make it in time.
Sorry that's not much help, I know in these situations you just want to be doing something.
I'm so sorry and hope you're coping as best as you can. Stay on MN, or email me directly if you want to talk.

thePA · 01/04/2007 18:38

aaaaaaaargh! where did you all appear from?

thePA · 01/04/2007 18:41

so sorry to hear that Lesley, i hope you can take some comfort from her knowing how you feel x

LesleyR · 01/04/2007 18:44

Thanks Katy and Ellie.
Think I am going to stay put for now. Dh has just come in so I'm off to chat to him about it.
