tumbleweed blows through April thread

YvieE · 30/03/2007 14:43

Octo - stay where you are, it was just a bit of fun - you haven't insulted anyone.
Its going to be deleted so we can go back to discussing head sizes and delivery stories. Been rethinking the whole "want baby out now" thing since CD metioned 42 cm

Bramshott · 30/03/2007 14:45

Blimey, have just checked the stats thread - so we actually had our first one back on 1 March but we didn't know?! Autumnlover - more details please? How're you doing?? Is your LO still in hospital?

DH has taken DD out and I am supposed to be having a nap so I'd better go and do as I'm told or I will regret it at 3am when Orla wants feeding for the 60millionth time!! Still on cloud nine though!

Runnyhabbit - wanted to say that those black DP trousers I bought on your recommendation are great for post-natal as well as you can roll the top band over. They seem have recovered well from my waters breaking in them!

April tomorrow - another rush of babies?! Will try to email round some pics very soon.

Hiya ladies

Sorry have not been around. CD, I EFFING HATE Talk Talk. This is the reason I haven't been around. They sent us a letter to say that they were doing some work on Wednesday that would mean we would be without Broadband for 20 minutes. I am still not able to access the internet at home!! I have put the phone down on them twice as they have tried to fob me off saying it is our modem which it is not. Anyway, I am at my Mum and Dad's now for the weekend, so will be able to come on and check on you all.

A huge Congratulations to Mammyjo and Oooggs!

Lovely names all round, and what big babies for twins - that is fabulous!!!
I hope you are all doing well.

I had a text from 1b3 the other day. The twins are ok - Lola is feeding well, but Zed was having a little trouble. That was Wednesday though and have heard nothing since.

Dh and Becky are now away and have been since yesterday am. They have gone ski-ing and won't be back until Sunday night. So, I am with my lovely parents' being pampered!!

Anyway, hope everyone else is ok. Will be back on later. xx

maveta · 30/03/2007 15:02

hellooooooooo???

nuttygirl · 30/03/2007 15:04

Got a wedding invitation from ex-housemate of DH today. Wedding in July & baby is invited. Thing is, it's in Guernsey. Have worked out it's gonna cost about £500 (for a 3 day trip - WTF...I can get a week in Spain for that amount????). Also am a bit worried it's gonna be crap...they're having a "refreshingly different" reception and advice is not to wear 6 inch heels or a new suit (and no hats allowed). They'll also "let us know if we need to bring anythin nearer the time". WTF does that mean....

and if we do go...what do I do about the baby...do i need to take pram, travel cot and the other 10 tons of stuff it'll need???

maveta · 30/03/2007 15:05

sospl - hope you have fun with your parents and enjoy the peace and quiet.. love that you've been left with your parents.. was that your choice or Andrej's?! Everytime dh goes out of an evening now he feels like he has to make sure I'm babysat.. if not by someone in the house, then at least knowing that someone is near by and ready to go I've still got more than 3 weeks to go!

Bramshott - it's so lovely to hear how you are getting on, hearing about your new baby activities really is going to help keep me going in these last few weeks! Big kisses to your wee one x

nuttygirl · 30/03/2007 15:05

We'd have to fly btw

nuttygirl · 30/03/2007 15:06

SOSPL - don't get me started on Talk Talk glad you're able to get online at your parents tho!

maveta · 30/03/2007 15:07

Oooh nutty - sounds like quite the adventure with a wee one, but could be fun? At least it sounds like it's not going to be all formal and stuffy.. I guess you will need to take all that stuff (and tons more I would imagine..).. maybe you could ask them if they know anyone you could borrow certain things from? For our wedding out here I sorted out a travel cot and other big baby stuff that my friend needed so she didn't need to bring, worth asking?

nuttygirl · 30/03/2007 15:12

that's a great idea Maveta...I'll have to get DH to ask her if they know anyone who'd have that sort of thing. I'm a bit at how many hotels/guest houses don't take children...and some are charging £10 per night for baby to stay (even tho it's not costing them anything!)

maveta · 30/03/2007 15:30

That's a bit cheeky! Hopefully they'll know someone with stuff to lend.. especially things like travel cots that loads of people have but don't use that often.

GirtWaspbElly · 30/03/2007 15:30

Hi Nuttygirl,

Damn I was hoping to go to Guernsey in June with both lo's but by ferry, to meet him at the end of an Offshore race (see - that's me turning a negative into a positive for ya) Ferry - mainly cos of amount of 'stuff'! we'll need.
Maybe try finding out whether the Bride & Groom know have any local friends witha large spare room if you're finding accommodation difficult - you just need a double room really don't you? Kid(s) stay in 'nests' on floor if it really comes to it..?
was a bit offended/amused by contentious thread title, much happier now!

Flump - as your text buddy - check your email & let me know will ya?

bEllieK · 30/03/2007 16:29

have passed it on Girt!
