Knee feeling better thanks. I would glue myself to the sofa but I have to drag myself, plus DD, who appears to coming down with the flu, single handed onto the plane tomorrow to get to my parents. THERE I will glue myself to the sofa, except for maybe hitting (not literally I hope, given recent exploits) Cardiff high street as far as Baby Gap.

Seansgirl · 03/04/2007 17:05

Absolutely Sputnik, you should Trace and just ramble a load of bollocks like the rest of us, I personally find it very theraputic as DH is fed up of my inane drivel after 11 years being married I'm not surprised.

Anyway, must be a proper parent and sort out DD who has just 'washed' her hands with my hand cream as there is no soap. There is no soap as found her washing her bits with copious amounts of hand soap the other day

I'll say night night too as have got to write appeal letter to education authority as DD didn't get the school we wanted. Back tomorrow afternoon - have 28 week scan and consultant appointment tomorrow.

ps Ria - hmm... i generally like 'real' men, rough looking even, hence Sean. The northern bit isn't really the attraction, but it doesn't put me off either. i like Sean in Sharpe best... all that lovely uniform......I'm off again!

sputnik · 03/04/2007 17:10

This one?

foxybrown · 03/04/2007 17:13

seansgirl - have you tried www.schoolsappeal.co.uk? They've got lots of advice, costs a fiver I think to download some useful stuff.

Been lurking all day, will write tonight when I get my head out of my arse

lots of love to everyone xxx

foxybrown · 03/04/2007 17:14

also meant to say I went through it last year so anything I can do to help..

right time for tea

derlor · 03/04/2007 17:40

hello, sorry for my absence but i've been ill.
felt a bit crap last night but nothing specific. went off to bed early and then woke up at half one this morning feeling like my left ear and head was going to explode. spent the whole night (till 0730) holding my ear and crying with pain. despite swallowing 24 hours worth of paracetamol in 6 hours!!! (oops)(was all alone as i didn't want to wake anyone - well i actually would have loved to wake up dh for some sympathy but i never)
eventually at 0730 a very loud crackling noise in my ear resulted in my ear drum perforating and lots of green goo pouring out - nice. managed to fall asleep for 2 hours then while dh took over with lo's and woke me up with tea and toast in time for a bath before going to the doctors appt that he had made for me. now on antibiotics and nasal spray. still feel shitty and sore as i can't take any more pain relief till tomorrow now. sorry for moaning but this may just be revenge for the fact that my pregnancy and life was going so smoothly- cynical or what???!!
anyway i'm off to catch up on what i've missed now that i've selfishly had my major moan first.

Evening all

Sputnik please take it easy! Make sure everyone is running round after you. Don't want to hear of any more injuries!

Trace2, hope things are getting better for you. Remember you can ALWAYS have a whinge on here, that's what we are here for.

Derlor, sorry to hear about your ear. That sort of pain is excruciating isn't it? Hope the antibiotics help. Eat lots of yummy things that induce pain numbing hormones! I.e. chocolate and cake! Glad your DH is looking after you.

Right, I have my yoga teacher coming over in a minute for an antenatal yoga class. better go and make my living room look a bit more zen!

Seansgirl · 03/04/2007 18:01

Oh Sputnik thanks! That is the one! I truly am a techno muppet!!!!

Foxy, I might well pick your brains later on that and thanks for the website will check it out later when DD in bed. Got to get off now as DH just walked in - don't want him to think I've been on here all afternoon!

Seansgirl · 03/04/2007 19:23

Well Foxy, am going to borrow F or T for H - FH or TH he is majorly in the doghouse am really f**d off! He has just got back an announced he is going to work before my scan, which is at 10am . So annoyed, he took his effing lap top to St Ives last week and did work 2 mornings and 2 evenings last week. gggggggggggrrrrrrrrrrrr.......... Next thing is he'll be having work calls etc when I'm bloody well delivering if I have a home birth

Anyway, my email for some reason I cannot log in at all so have changed it to the following:

[email protected]

Am going to attempt to email Marslady

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 03/04/2007 19:51

Oh derlor you poor thing! Ear ache is horrible and the green stuff sounds awful, hope the abs take effect asap!

Seansgirl I am about to settle down and watch the show!! My dp did the work thing with my 20 week scan. I had it written on the calendar for ages and he forgot and booked in an appointment at the same time which he couldn't cancel. I had to go with dd in tow, it wasn't fun! Oh and the day my dd was born the FA cup final was on and dp didn't come into the pool room where I was contracting away until the penalty shoot out had finished. I was a little bit cross!! Men are mentally subnormal sometimes! Hope the appt and the scan go well.

Sputnik I hope your flight is ok tomorrow. I'm wafting any nasty weather away for you so there are no delays!!

Bumper you are such an earth mother! Having yoga in your living room? Do you weave lentils and knit muesli?

foxybrown · 03/04/2007 20:17

Hello all!

Sorry to hear of your poorly ear, derlor. That's really horrid.

Poor Seansgirl, men can be such spanners. Mine is but he's northern (in answer to your question Ria, can't stand them myself!) so I have to make allowances for him.

Have a good flight tomorrow Sputnik, and Hello Trace2 - are you there, lurking? Come out, come out, wherever you are ...

Bumper, you are an old hippy. V funny you Zenning up your living room for your yoga teacher!

Annobel, yes we will be getting rid of our car. We bought it 2nd hand, it works well but full of raisins and old tissues. Suppose I could clean it out. Has a few dents, cos TP is a crap driver, but nothing major. Are you in London? If we buy another car and don't part ex it it'll probably be dirt cheap because we are lazy! I'll let you know if you like, although it won't be until June probably because its not my department so just won't happen until the absolute last second.

This baby is really making her presence felt. Seems like she's finally gone "OK, been here a while, you've taken no notice of me BAM I'M HERE" Everything is heavy, and feels like theres so much pressure. Oh well, only another 12 and a half weeks to go.

I went to the gym this morning. I just had fish and chips for dinner. With a cream egg for pudding

Sorry, long post. See what happens when you try no to sit on here all day?

derlor · 03/04/2007 20:21

seansgirl i'm so miffed i missed your house show. never saw your email about it till too late.
thanks for get well wishes i must admit i'm feeling really sorry for myself and probably psychologically making the pain worse but i can't help it - hormones and no chocolate left in house
sputnick have a good flight tomorrow.
Anyone been watching that programme Kidnapped?

foxybrown · 03/04/2007 20:22

BTW Mytwocents, 30 is the new 20. Just as 40 is the new 30. Am staring in the face of 37 myself. shit.

riabutterflew · 03/04/2007 20:27

grr men! (even the gorgeous northern ones off the telly - honestly they aren't like that round here, maybe it's 'cos this isn't Sheffield, they are more like the character Mark Benton plays on the Nationwide ads, and that's some of the better ones (the others are Steve Coogan like characters. Maybe I just used to have really DODGY taste in men and the places I went when I was single and had a life?). Am sorry if everyones DP is a northern bloke (mine is, luckily not like his Dad though, and MOST of the time fairly reasonable). No offence meant, just a general comment re crapness of men. I'll shut up now before this hole gets deeper.) Have had to resume conversation with DH as DS1 been poorly with a man illness which meant he was unable to move his mouth to speak and just made whimpering noises. So we have all been in bed most of the day as DS2 got into trouble for a rolled oats related incident and he wanted to sleep (he hardly ever gets into trouble 'cos he's so cute...). We had just managed to get dressed when DH came home on his break - early .
Must go - bedtime beckons.

foxybrown · 03/04/2007 20:27

Don't worry derlor, those chocolates could be with you any day now... they'll be worth the wait I'm sure

foxybrown · 03/04/2007 20:29

Don't apologise Ria, men are crap. Mines northern, but is crap regardless. Tho he did go out and get the chips tonight.

See what happens when you put a northern man in charge of dinner?!!

riabutterflew · 03/04/2007 20:30

Curry sauce or gravy? Mine actually won't go in the chippy!

nannyjo · 03/04/2007 20:35

aaargh!! just found out today that although i'm due middle of june there is VERY LITTLE chance of that happening.

Looks like it'll be may or even probably be april.

I'd better get my arse in gear and get things sorted!!

derlor · 03/04/2007 20:36

NO.... has to be chips and cheese EVERY time,
yum yum think i need some

OP posts:
derlor · 03/04/2007 20:38

whats happening nannyjo? why the early dates - have i missed something?

OP posts:
annobal · 03/04/2007 20:38

Evening all!
Derlor - that is awful, you poor thing. I burst an eardrum years ago and still remember the pain of it.

Sputnik - have a great flight and enjoy Cardiff and some tlc.

Am also feeling really positive by 40 being the new 30 - am staring down the barrel as am 36 this year . How on earth did that happen???

Bumper - I'd love to being doing pg yoga - esp at home. I am meant to be doing it each night with Gowri Motha but, lets face it, it's been a while! It is much more fun to be MNing (and looking for cars on internet).

Hope everyone has a lovely evening - am now going off to do some knitting - am knitting a blanket for the baby - very Stepford wives of me I know. AND CSI is on tonight - finally a night of semi-decent tv!

hollyandtheeasterbunny · 03/04/2007 20:40

Ewww...curry sauce or gravy on chips! Barf! I am so Southern, it's ketchup and mayo for me! I was horrified when I went to Leeds with my dp and his uncle asked me if I wanted curry sauce on my chips! I was like "curry sauce, what on my chips?"

My baby is making his presence felt as well foxy. He is constantly kicking me all over really hard and it hurts! Apart from this morning when I thought I was going into labour I have had loads of BHs and loads of pressure and cramps. I am thinking this may be a good sign though as I didn't have any of this with my dd, so maybe this one won't be late. Hopefully he won't make an appearance any time soon though! 38 weeks will be just peachy, I am convinced I am having a 10lber!

nannyjo · 03/04/2007 20:42

i've got Obstetric Cholestasis.

It's just a waiting game to see how long i can keep carrying before the levels of toxins in blood become too dangerous for baby.

DS1 i got it at 32 weeks and he was induced at 35.

This time i got it at 29 weeks. I'm 30 now, lebels are rising but no-one can tell what the heck my body will do.

All i've been told is that they will try their hardest to get me to 34 weeks but only time will tell what my body decides it wants to do

derlor · 03/04/2007 20:42

knitting? Annobel, i'm impressed, i can't do any of that 'crafty/practical' stuff!!!

OP posts:
hollyandtheeasterbunny · 03/04/2007 20:43

Derlor, chips and cheese!! Now you're talking..mmmmm..with beans on the top! I am so wanting some now!

Nanyjo are you ok? Hope your bubs doesn't make too much of an early appearance.

Annobal, hope your knitting goes well. I wish I could knit!
