I have just got my BFP and going to be due at the very end of March or start of April.

Anyone else?

@olicat, with my LB (March '16) I refused to go to the hospital most people in my area use for similar reasons. I self referred to a hospital in the next county and everything was honky dory. For me, apart from the hospital being crap not really good, it was actually further away from my house than the hospital in the next county. I live on the Essex side of the Essex Kent border for some context.

Definitely self refer if you have the option.

Poppyandpeaches · 16/08/2017 15:35

@Jenster17 you can arrange a private early scan, google to find one near you. NHS will give you an early scan at an early pregnancy unit if you have had bleeding etc., don't think they offer it normally

Notsunkinyet · 16/08/2017 15:49

I'm due 19th April but had a missed miscarriage in February. Very very nervous.

Whymustyoubringinthebirds · 16/08/2017 17:02

@poppy I'm looking to book for bang on 8 weeks as this is the earliest the clinic at ours would want - feels like an age away

Thelostsock · 16/08/2017 18:25

I'm telling my parents tonight. Can't wait to have someone else in on the secret. Wanted to wait longer but think they'll guess this weekend so would rather tell them first. I'm really nervous which is ridiculous! How has everyone else done it?

olicat · 16/08/2017 18:53

lostsock I told mine last weekend - way earlier than I would have done but we were due to visit and they would have definitely guessed - no caffeine and alcohol would have been very suspicious! Anyway, I'd have told my mum whatever happened so I suppose it's good for her to know, although having to reign in her excitement a bit!

Thanks everyone for your input on hospital choice, very helpful.

I'm off to eat 20 slices of marmite on toast now.

Thelostsock · 16/08/2017 19:10

Ooooh @olicat marmite!!! It tastes even better now

Jenster17 · 16/08/2017 19:23

Oh cool thanks @Poppyandpeaches Smile

Have eaten so much today and still seem to be hungry - only carbs will do!!

MissYeti · 16/08/2017 19:32

lostsock I 'told' my mum this morning by going with her to the shop. She looked at me in shock when I picked up digital tests and pregnancy vitamins but couldnt stop smiling all the way home.
I didnt know how else to tell her! It's a weird statement to just come out with...

OuiMerci · 17/08/2017 09:57

I told my parents last weekend as DH and I were going out. They were babysitting and couldn't understand I why I was driving.

I'm seeing my sisters this weekend and they'll know within about 5 mins of me arriving when I have to decline a large gin!

MissYeti · 17/08/2017 10:01

Broke the news last night! OH is very happy but has already started worrying. Parents are excited and everyone so far has expressed their preference for a girl. My parents have Two grandsons already and the OH wants a daddy's girl

Aww missyeti that's so cute! I did something similar last time for DH, with a little gift box that had a dummy, a tiny pair of shoes and a preggo test in it.

This time round it was "do you see a line here or am I being crazy?" 😂 it was 6am and he was clearly still in sleep mode. It wasn't until later in the day he text me saying "did you really ask me to look at a pregnancy test today?"

MissYeti · 17/08/2017 13:12

mrsD that's cute! I suppose it depends on the situation, I was on holiday without him when I got My first bfp so by the time I came home there was no denying the second line.

At least this time you get to enjoy the entire experience together :) finding out together must be exhilarating!

MrsDneedsaB · 17/08/2017 13:55

Does anyone else seem to be smuggling peanuts in their bra? My nips are definitely standing to attention today, wearing a stretchy bra today for comfort and now incredibly self conscious in my dress 🙈🙈

Jenacles · 17/08/2017 14:25

I'm with you MrsD! 'treated' myself to comfy non-wired bras and now feel like I have a giant sign on me saying - look nipples!

Sam91TRS15 · 17/08/2017 20:57

Haha yes defo on the nipple front. Boobs tend not to get the memo about getting bigger in pregnancy but they are definitely feeling fuller! So that evens out the pain!
Does anyone feel like they feel little thumps every now and again? I know it's probably in my head but I'm sure I feel slightly movements.. But being the size of a blueberry it is probs not..

olicat · 17/08/2017 22:47

My nips hurt the most when I lie down to go to bed for some reason!

You were all correct, offered a choice of 5 hospitals and picked my preferred one. All very uneventful, although I must say I was taken aback when the doctor asked me if me and my partner were related 🙈😂

beckh86 · 18/08/2017 09:40

Hi all!

Congrats all on your BFPs - so exciting! Was so funny last night as I was chatting to my partner about my boobs and then when I checked this forum it seems like I wasn't alone in this either! Am already considering buying a "sleep bra"!

I'm 5weeks+1 - was meant to go to the docs next week for my first appointment, but managed to get a cancellation and went a few days ago as I've been peeing all the time, running to the loo and getting up in the night to pee too. Found out yesterday it's a water infection and started nitrofurantoin this morning. So glad I'm a way as I was worried that it might just be a pregnancy symptom I'd have to put up with!

Bit concerned though as the pharmacist said this antibiotic is "notorious" for causing nausea! So that's my weekend most likely being spent on the sofa by the sounds of it! Also meant to take it 4 times a day with food - so will need to plan in some late evening suppers!

Jenster17 · 18/08/2017 09:53

@olicat great you got to pick the hospital you wanted!! Cannot believe he asked you if you're related to your partner Hmm hilarious!!!

So glad to see I'm not alone on the boob front, loving them getting bigger but they are so painful!!! Also considering sleep bra or maybe sports bra?!

Finch82 · 18/08/2017 10:46

beckh86 I've been prescribed nitrofrantuin before and it didn't make me feel sick (though I wasn't pregnant at the time). Hope you don't get those side effects. I had a big cyst and an ovary removed last year and I've been plagued by problems with UTIs since. Have an appointment with urology in September that I got referred to before I was pregnant-doubt they'll be able to do anything now I'm up the duff though! So far, no UTI! Thank god! Good luck in shifting the infection xxx

YorkieDorkie · 18/08/2017 11:31

It's on the green maternity notes! Everyone should get asked if they are blood related to the baby's father Grin there's a ticky box and everything!

Stonesourfangirl · 18/08/2017 12:19

Had my booking appt today. Have been told I'll have to see a consultant due to my history of losses and surgery but hopefully can be assigned back to midwife after consultant has seen me once. If its twins will be consultant all the way tho. Find out if its twins next Thursday

Finch82 · 18/08/2017 15:16

It's been 2 weeks since my BFP and, although I've been having symptoms, I've still been hankering to see another line on a POAS! I bought a pack of two cheapos which were a duff batch so didn't get my fix. But then today I found a random test in my knicker drawer so obviously I weed on it. Here it is next to the first faint little pink line I got two weeks ago... I feel like I'm back to believing the reality that I am actually pregnant and I didn't imagine it! Grin

Lovely line finch :) I too have been checking 😁 I'm using cheapies now but was using up the frer's. Horrific morning sickness and boobs hurt constantly but still like the little stick lol!!
I'm going to look for sleeping bras tomorrow, I don't mind the boob pain tho it's totally manageable....unlike the sickness

finch and pickle good to see the addiction carries on through a lot of us! I only got my first bfp 5 days ago but I like seeing the line get darker. With no other symptoms its a bit of a relief for me to see it's still there
