"Chocolate makes happy babies"........tra la la la la music to my ears.

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2007 19:34

Only quick as I've gotta help DH get tiny terrors extracted from bath and into bed before MIL comes to baby-sit while we go to Birthing Centre to look round ....

Ange - So about your DH friend. You cannot help the fact that the funeral clashes with the date of your Section - It is a VERY good excuse though and I am sure people will understand completely. [[hugs]

Gotta go now otherwise we'll be late late late.... Love to all! xxxx

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 19:35

My baby is going to be the happiest little boy ever!
There must be a link between that and the bikini thing...no, can't see it!

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2007 19:35

Going to buy a BIG BAG of Mini Eggs on my way home ....

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 19:35

Wow, flying visit CD, hello, goodbye

EllieK · 26/03/2007 19:54

the 'happy babies' theory was around when I had matthew in 2003, worked tho!

maveta · 26/03/2007 20:00

Katy44 - what´s LTRF??

Opinions - well the problem is that I don´t think I´ll be in any way shape or form ready to put a bikini on it´s more about the fact that when it gets so hot you just don´t care anymore.. a tankini is a great idea.. might have a look around for one. Re. the wax.. well as you may remember, I´m a waxing girl through and through so if I don´t keep it up it just means it´ll be super long by the time I´m next able to go and that means YOOOWWWCH

As for my mini-history.. I moved over in 2003 and my parents decided to move over a year later. We all lived here for a few years when I was little so there are ties and connections here. My two sisters still live in the UK. And there you´ve got it!

babysopiniontakesover · 26/03/2007 20:08

Wow that sounds fascinating. Interesting that it was you who took the plunge and then parents followed. It sounds great it really does. Are you north/east/south/west.

We went to mallorca last year I know that probably sounds really cheesy and touristy to you but it was lovely. We went to the south of the island to a resort called Cala d'Or, all very nice and very pretty. When I was speaking to a guide type person she said that the "real" and most beautiful part was the west coast but unfortunately we didn't make it that far, next time perhaps.

Apparently thats where all the A-listers are, Catherine Zeta Jones/Michael Douglas etc!!!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 20:15

maveta i think Katy meant trimming her lady garden

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 26/03/2007 20:17

Evening all. PMSL Emmy at your tarmac fetish! You mad woman!

Well, B is in bed and I can relax - hurrah!
She was a right handful though. She hangs out with a 9 and 10 year old (she is coming up 4) and it makes her really cocky and even more difficult to deal with. But, at least she enjoys herself and has had tons of fresh air. Hopefully she will be knackered and lie in again tomorrow!!

Now going to stuff my face with pasta.

Hope Octo is ok.

xx

eca · 26/03/2007 20:17

oooohh! Exciting, just been reading octo's labour thread and it's got me all worked up! come on octo!!!

And hurrah for 1b3!!! Looking forward to hearing all the news about the twins!!

And yey for paternity leave for dh maveta! you must be sooo chuffed.

Ange - sorry to hear about dh's friend. that is so tragic and a real shame you wont be able to make the funeral. Hope that you find some way to show your love for him and remember. I think what your dh said about new life is really touching. hugs xxxxxxxxx

runny - really pleased to hear all went well with your sis's op. Glad she's out now. hope her recovery is all ok.

SOSPL - Hope you have an easy bath and bedtime with B tonight. And another lie in tomorrow!

hi Bubbaloo! at over 10lbs! hope scan shows baby's not too huge for you!!!

muminabigtumi · 26/03/2007 20:35

AngeG - really sorry to hear about your friend. Hugs to you and your DH.

FANTASTIC news for 1b3 - am thinking of you hun for tomorrow!!

CD - hope the trip to the birthing centre goes well.

Phil has just gone out to fill his new car up with petrol, begged him to bring chocolate back but he tells me he is paying at the pump and not going in tot he garage - GGRRR - I told him the BABY needed the chocolate - god help him if he comes back without!!!

Maveta - Excellent news about the paternity leave - amso pleased for you that you will get the time to get to know each other as a family...good idea re the eyelash tint - may book in for brow and eyelash tint and tidy. Fraid the waxing though is no go...I have been regularly shaving off all hair so that I just have a "light dusting" should I unexpectedly go into labour - intend to go for the full monty on morning of section!!!

Just had a lovely and very civilised tea at the dinner table with Phil and a good natter about his first day in his new job - which has gone really well. I am so proud of him and very excited for him too. Hope baby stays in till section date so that it doesn't throw him into disarray with his new employers. (crosses legs tight).

Hi Bubaloo - good to hear from you - don't worry re the weight - plenty of time to sort that out once your baby has arrived safely and healthily! x

Emmymummy - don't know how you and others not yet on Mat Leave can do it - you must be knackered!

Right going to put feet up on comfy chair for a bit
xxx

Come on Ernie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

bumble75 · 26/03/2007 20:47

Evening all, how exciting Octo's baby may be on the way and 1b3 has a date!

Ange - really sorry to hear about your dh's friend, think his attitude is really great but still must be very sad.

Emmymummy - freaked a couple of the girls in the office out today with similar Alien type impersonations from bump still have 5 weeks till edd (thankfully only till next week at work) and my ribs are getting a battering!

Maveta - great news about dh's paternity leave! Also 100% with you on the waxing of lady bits for the big event, also going to have eyebrows made less caterpillar like and have lovely pedicure, get hair coloured and have a facial, figure it may be the last time for a while I have the funds (or the time) to indulge!

WestCountryLass · 26/03/2007 20:48

Here's hoping it's the real deal for Octo!

And is 1B3 having her babies tomorrow??

maveta · 26/03/2007 20:50

Thanks Eca!

MIABT - and you still reach to shave down there?? Very impressive indeed. I think I mentioned on here my last attempt to trim lead to blood loss (small amount but hey, still!) so my next trip will be with a full mohican

Opinions - that´s where I am! So I don´t think it sounds cheesy at all . Cala D´Or is nice and has a couple of small but very beautiful beaches but the west of the island is prettier for sure. The East is a bit more barren, IYKWIM. All the famous people do indeed live in the West, we live kind of in the middle, with the not at all famous people I think it is a lovely place with some amazing scenery, it gets a bad name for the really touristy resort parts but they are such a tiny part of the island. Let me know if you ever come over this way again!

maveta · 26/03/2007 20:52

oooh bumble.. a pedicure.. now that IS a good idea.. might add it to my list..

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 20:54

WCL - yes, 1b3 is booked in for her CS tomorrow.
How are things? Have you agreed a name yet?

OP posts:
nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 21:02

Don't get excited...no news from Octo!

WCL nice to see you...hows things going with the LO?

Maveta - Waxing...OUCH. Don't mind it too much normally but even the thought of it at the moment makes me shudder. Think I'm going for the overgrown hedge look

babysopiniontakesover · 26/03/2007 21:02

C u tomorrow then maveta lol!!! I've got cheesy on the brain thats all.....the latest on my cooking mission is cheesy pasta sauce for LO. Sad but true.

Looking forward to IB3's news for tomorroow....!!!

Hi WCL hope ur ok!

WestCountryLass · 26/03/2007 21:08

LO is an absolute angel, a little sweetie

The Dr came to do his newborn check which was fine but DD fell down the back of the sofa and banged her face on the windowsill on the way down, giving herself a black eye just as the Dr was parking her car outside the house

Still no name, DH is vetoing Gabriel...He so is back at work Thursday so I might go and register the birth without him

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 21:11

Oh your poor DD!
Glad to hear you are all doing well. What's second choice, if not Gabriel?

OP posts:
EllieK · 26/03/2007 21:12

ok, there's naff all on tv so what stupid stuff can we talk about to liven up my evening?

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 26/03/2007 21:17

Nutty, pmsl at your overgrown hedge look! I daren't look - may find a triffid (sp?) down there!

I do fancy an eyebrow wax though as every time I pluck my brows I sneeze which is hellish on the bump. Also a manicure would be nice.

WCL, your poor dd - hope she is ok. So happy that your new baby is doing well - would you dare register his name though without dh!!??

MIABT, so pleased Phil's job has started out so well, and I hope for his sake he got you some chocolate!

Maveta, great news about the paternity leave - result!

I have stuffed my face and am now going to settle down with my evening Flake.

Hope everyone is ok. Hopefully 1b3 will text me tomorrow with her news, so I will of course pass on the details as soon as I get any. Watch this space!! xx

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 21:25

off to bed everyone (or at least to lie and read on the sofa)
Goodnight

EllieK · 26/03/2007 21:28
