Capatin Dippy sends labour vibes to Octo and mega love to 1b3

and ps. her top 3 has been spot on so far

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 16:44

Ooo...that's great news for 1b3. Am having probs with internet connection (don't worry, just means i have to take the phone off the hook to be connected) so think i'll take a break and just pop on if there's any news from Octo. (I blame bt's shitty wiring outside but they want to charge £80 quid or summat for an engineer...)

maveta · 26/03/2007 16:45

Lots of vibes to Octo.. COME ON ERNIE!!!

And for 1b3 - about time!! Please send her love and kisses and best wishes (I'm a poet..blah blah)

Day in the office finally over and looking forward to slumping on the sofa and checking if anyone else decides to pop. My sis brought me a huuge bag of mini eggs which I've been devouring by the handful - have been picturing that bag every time someone says they've finished one off and thinking 'wow that's a lot of mini eggs' forgetting they do smaller sizes! doh. Although would hesitate to say it would not be outwith the realms of possibility that we could finish off one of those bags in one sitting....

Forgot to mention our great news.. the new law re. paternity leave has just been passed so now dh will be entitled to 2 weeks paternity instead of 2 days! Yaaaaaaaay! {running round waving arms around head and screaming} am so so so happy he'll be with us without having to use up holiday leave so we should still be able to get some family time together later in the year. Happy days!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 16:46

nutty, do you want to take my mobile number so you can just let me know and i'll post for you?

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 16:48

Yeah ok ellie...email it to me...I shouldn't have probs posting but just in case!!!!

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 16:50

Oh and great news about paternity leave Maveta...bet DH is pleased!

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 16:57

Cheers Ellie got your email!

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:02

would be sods law that you start while octo is away too!

Eddas · 26/03/2007 17:27

Fantastic news for 1b3, glad the powers that be are being kind to her for a change

I didn't do any ironing, i fell asleep now dinner is late for dd, oh well wasn't going to win mother of the year anyway so ho hum!

Come on octo we need a baby today, one a day, can i bags wed pleeeeaassseee

And a new thread a day to by the looks of things, will it be a thread for each new baby, lol!?

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:28

ooh i like that idea Eddas, does rely on us keeping up the one a day lark tho

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 17:37

LesleyR: "My nesting instinct is nowhere near as strong as my sitting on the sofa instinct at the moment"
PMSL! I know exactly what you mean!
Great news about 1b3, I'm so happy they've finally taken her seriously (I assume). Can wait to hear about the twins later this week.
As for octo...wow! Labour vibes!
I wonder if it's anything to do with the scam she tried to pull in which case I'll be doing the same in about a weeks time.
if I go into labour at the same stage as her, that's one week today! And I haven't even hired a TENS machine!

Oh, and hello everyone, hope you're all well, got a little carried away there

AngeG · 26/03/2007 17:44

Hi everyone I'm back. I really expected to come back to news from Octo. Sending labour vibes her way.

Fantastic news about 1b3's section tomorrow. I'm so pleased for her.

Just had some bad news. DH friend died of cancer on Friday Not unexpected but still a shock iykwim. Unfortunately the funeral will be on the day of my section. I'm almost hoping something happens before then so that DH can go. He only got married in October and only met the love of his life 3yrs ago, he was 45. Just makes you realise that you should make the most of what you've got.

Sorry just had to get that out.I'm so emotional about it and DH doesn't need me being upset.

Love to you all xx

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:45

Katy, you do make me laugh sometimes! as useful as they can be, you will survive labour without a tens machine

hospital bag? house ready for the baby? now those might be a little more pressing

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 26/03/2007 17:45

Evening all - no delivery from easter bunny yet!

Contractions and niggles started yesterday afternoon - by 8pm they were about 8 minutes apart then tried to go to sleep in case was false alarm , but failed - by 1am they were 4 minutes apart and lasting a minute and quite sore - could not get to sleep at all - imagine giant squirming octopus on bed with hot feet! Tried lots of different positions to see if would stop - still going on at 4.30am after a little wonder around in the dark - went back to bed and must have eventually crashed out - woke at 8am very sore and tired. Contractions have been on and off all day and my tummy hurts! Feels like my tummy has run a marathon!

Got a sleep in this afternoon but just feel knackered and achy. Only had a banana, crisps and rice crispies all day - not hungry at all.

Rang midwife this afternoon to ask where to put the tens pads - said I could go in but can't be arsed - will go find a picture of someone with some on!

This baby is in no rush!

Great news for 1B3 - that is brilliant. so pleased for her.

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:45

oh Ange

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 17:46

Oh Ange, I'm so sorry, that's awful?
Practically, can you move the date of your section? I have no idea how easy / difficult it is to do that.

OP posts:
Katy44 · 26/03/2007 17:47

Hi octo - it does sound as though things are happening! Very exciting!

OP posts:
Eddas · 26/03/2007 17:47

Oh Ange, know what you feel like unfortunately. It's a horrible disease. Try to be strong.

EllieK · 26/03/2007 17:48

octo get your backside over to your labour thread, there are a lot of excited ladies there waiting for updates

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 17:48

So sorry to hear about your DHs friend Ange .

Octo - glad you've been able to get back on MN...think the guys on the thread you started last night are wondering about you!!!

octopussyinyummyeastereggs · 26/03/2007 17:49

AngeG - that is terrible news - a friend of mine died a year ago - it is really hard to come to terms with and I still get really upset now when I think about her. She was married and has a little boy the same age as my ds1. Very hard - big hugs xoxoxoxo

AngeG · 26/03/2007 17:53

Thanks guys, you're all great. I didn't mean to bring a dampner to the births.

Don't think I can change the date of section because they book 4 wks in advance for electives so there will be spaces

DH is being quite philosphical saying that our new life will enter the world as friend leaves it

Once again thanks you truly are a great bunch

Eddas · 26/03/2007 18:00

That's a nice way to look at it. My mum died and a couple of months later i fell pg with dd and always thought she'd be a girl because of mum. DD also has blue eyes like mum(dh and me have green). Also mum died of cancer starting in her salivary gland an dd's gland was up for the first few weeks. I took it as a sign. Am not a beliver in all things from above but it made sense to me

Anyway sure no one wanted to know that

EllieK · 26/03/2007 18:01

we are, aren't we

seriously tho, it is the only thing that means i put up with the nonsense on mumsnet sometimes, this thread is just so lovely
