contraction timer

claricebean · 26/03/2007 06:01

Oooh octo - what's happening now?

Tili - congrats on baby turning. Hope he stays head down for you now.

Well I am officially too uncomfortable to stay in bed for more than a few hours now. Not contractions sadly, just sore everything. Have been asleep for maybe four hours, but up every hour to turn over. Now that I have DH back plus my mum I just want things to get going!!! Nine days till EDD now.

I have a window of about 7 hours tomorrow when my mum goes and DH goes to collect MIL, so no doubt things will kick off then. Or, even worse, I'll go over my dates - have never done that!

Hope the rest of you are getting more sleep than me, and that things are happening for you, octo.

1b3 and oogs. Really thinking of you two now.

claricebean · 26/03/2007 06:08

Oh yes, with you on after pains, WCL. With DS (DC number 3) they were so bad on the first night that I didn't get any sleep, while DS konked out for the entire night, exhausted from the birth. This time, I've got prescription strength Difloclenac and paracetomol in my hospital bag.

claricebean · 26/03/2007 06:09

OK, I will stop talking to myslef now and wait for someone else to wake up.

Hey RH, how are you?

runnyhabbit · 26/03/2007 06:30

Hi cb I'm a bit tired but can't sleep. Dh was up at 5 (working away this week ) and I was awake before the alarm went off

Got a bit of snot-like discharge last night (not a huge amount though) Can the mucous plug come away in bits, or will it come out in one go?

runnyhabbit · 26/03/2007 06:31

sorry if your having breakfast

claricebean · 26/03/2007 06:35

I have no idea about the mucous plug. I haven't ever seen one / part of one, or a show. Always thought that was a bit weird as I have had a spontaneous labour every time. Maybe I'm not very observant although I do look every time

runnyhabbit · 26/03/2007 06:41

I can't remember having one with ds. Dh says that I did have one, but it was when I had my sweep. Suprised he remembered seeing as his memory is so crap, but he distinctly remembers the mw being pleased
Sweep didn't do much though - ds still had to be induced!

Going to have cup of tea now

see you later

claricebean · 26/03/2007 06:45

Off to wake up DDs. Think I'll put the kettle on too.

Eddas · 26/03/2007 08:05

Ah hem katy did you eat it all

Octo any news??!?!! O i hope so, mind you wouldn't expect to hear if there is, think you'll have something else to do!

Katy44 · 26/03/2007 08:15

No, I had most of the dairy milk and ice cream, not sure where the rest went
Am getting very hopeful for octo - who's her buddy?

OP posts:
EllieK · 26/03/2007 08:45

Emmymummy · 26/03/2007 09:26

AngeG · 26/03/2007 09:30

YvieE · 26/03/2007 09:40

Anyway first day of mat leave...and I have no idea what to do - sods law.

doghouse · 26/03/2007 09:50

How exciting that Octo may be on her way. Can't remember is it her first?

that she jumped the queue though

Goodness, one a day would be great wouldn't it?

Off to Ikea in a minute ... not really part of the plan for 'resting' before due date of next week but hopefully Mondays will be quiet

Hope the sun is shining where you all are today - it's gorgeous here!

Smole · 26/03/2007 09:50

Congratulations WCL!

flumppootle · 26/03/2007 09:58

Morning

PSML at chocolate talk my weakness has been Caramac bars this time cant get enough of them!

Lovely birth story WCL, what a positive way to start off the birth announcements. I couldn't stop smiling all day yesterday after hearing your wonderful news.

Did have a giggle at it giving the rest of us a kick up the bum to get ourselves ready and packed etc!!!!!!!!!!!

Hope that 1b3 and ooggs are feeling okay, thinking of you both and sending out big labour vibes!

Any news from Octo?

I am with Ellie on the planning to BF but can pop to Tesco if need formula. I am also a huge fan of Hipp organic - have used it for my other three when changing to bottles. Mixed opinions on teat confusion, one dd was a total nightmare and then the next dd and ds had no trouble at all thats babies for you, they are all different!

So pleased to hear that your baby has turned Tili, what a relief for you

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 10:07

Morning, just got up. Had text from Octo. She's been having contractions all night and hasn't had any sleep but no baby yet. Her DH is staying home today and she's about to have a bath to see if it settles down.

AngeG · 26/03/2007 10:08

Thanks for the update Nutty. How dare you still be in bed

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2007 10:16

Hello - Just got DD2 down and DD2 out with DH's mum's friend so catching up here and MW coming to see me at half 10 re: Homebirth (though I think I am going to the local Birthing Centre now .... Just nice to get her to come to me for a bloomin' change!!!

I am definitely in the Mini Eggs camp - I like Creme Eggs, but find them a bit too sickly, esp as I tend to go off most sweet stuff when I am PG. Well, not so much go off it, but it gives me reflux and makes me feel sicky.

Not long now .....

Hope your early morning was too bad SOSPL hon - Poor you with DH going away to Ireland - hope everything goes ok - yey for Pre-School, eh!?

Where's Octo??? I hope she is away having a "real" baby this time ..... How DARE she skip the queue if she is though - v.v.rude!!

Keep forgetting to ask - Did you go to the Baby Show Yvie?? How was it????

Runny - Your mucus plug can come away in bits or as a whole yykky blob - so could be - It sometimes comes away long before labour starts though - hope it is not the case for you ....

Come on babies ...... !!

Wonder how poor 1B3 is getting on - I hope she has those little one's soooon - You too ooogs hon - Not long til inducement day ....

AngeG · 26/03/2007 10:17

Sorry Nutty Hope you had a good nights sleep.

Tili - really please baby has turned for you. Sending stay head down vibes to you.
