AngeG · 26/03/2007 10:18

Morning CD

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2007 10:19

Hi Ange!! Was thinking now most of us are on ML, do you think a few of us might like to meet in Brighton for a mid-week get together for the SE contingent?? We might be able to just about fit one in ..... ??

oooggs · 26/03/2007 10:20

Hi all

Hope you are ok Octo, how dare you even think about jumping the queue, I am due on the 12 and with two

Glad baby has turned tilli

1B3 - hope you come back to us soon I have loads to ask you, getting worried now about 2 newborns and how it will affect ds

Doghouse - wish we had an Ikea close by, closest is Bristol 2 hours away

Morning Flump, claricebean, Isabellymoi and everyone else, still no action here, but when I cough it feels like they are going to fall out

Bramshott · 26/03/2007 10:21

Ooh, our first baby! Congrats to WCL - how exciting and lovely . Brought a tear to the eye here too!!

Who's going to be next I wonder - Octo? Mammyjo? Or will it be Ooogs on Thurs?

Awake most of last night in pain, but sadly just terrible indigestion . Still, slept well from 4ish till about 8ish as DD got up by herself very quietly, so not feeling too bad.

Right, last week of work (assuming no baby by the end of it!), so better do some . . . .

oooggs · 26/03/2007 10:22

Hi Ange & CD - hope you are both well this morning.

I LOVE PRE SCHOOL

oooggs · 26/03/2007 10:23

Still hoping it will be before Thurs Bramshott but unlikely, they must be too comfortable

AngeG · 26/03/2007 10:25

Hi Oooggs and Bramshott.

muminabigtumi · 26/03/2007 10:26

Oooooh excitement galore! Octo this sounds promising!!

Not been on much this weekend - been busy sorting things, innesting overdrive but is having terrible effect on my back and just cannot sleep! So Sore!
have the day all to myself today and I am going to be good and put my feet up and relax...as I only have 21 days max till my section I figure I best start making the most fo the rest tie.

I go to see the consultant tomorrow to get a confirmed date and sign all the paperwork etc. AngeG - I will feel better after tomorrow cos I keep panicking about going into labour before my section! I have not prepared myself at all for a natural labour this time so it would be a real shock to me.

Have to say that I had period like cramps on Saturday night that kept coming and going but died off if I changed position and I thought....hmmm this feels vaguely familiar to how I started off with James (whole thing went on for over a week!)

I really don't exoect baby to come early though.

Ellie - sounds like you got some great bargains over the weekend. I am itching to go out and buy but I really want to wait till I know the sex now as I have loads of neutral stuff already.

WCL - I am so nvyous - your birth experience sounded really lovely - enjoy your time with your new family xxx

Hope everyone had a nice weekend

Come on Ernie - we are waiting for your appearance!!!!

AngeG · 26/03/2007 10:28

Think I might give a SE meet up a miss before this one arrives, if you don't mind. Finding driving hard work at the moment and don't think I could face sitting on a train. Also less that 2wks til my due date and only 1wk 2 days til my section. Sorry CD

AngeG · 26/03/2007 10:32

Morning MIABT - will be good to have a date for your section. Something to focus on. I am a bit concerned about going into labour before section as it's only 4 days before due date. I've never been in labour before. Been having low down periody cramps all weekend on and off, but think it may be the SPD. Generally pain been round the back of pelvis, but maybe it has moved to front.

Must stop worrying what will be will be

Sorry I know I'm going on about it a lot

eca · 26/03/2007 10:33

morning everyone

Tilli - hurrah baby's turned! So pleased for you! Squatting is meant to be good to encourage baby to engage. I've been doing it alot and bump has really dropped. Makes my legs ache though.

octo - oooooh!! Good luck octo!

doghouse - hello buddy! Hope you have an easy time at Ikea. Mon morning surely must be better than a weekend!

i slept badly last night. Having lots of sharp pains, which i think is something to do with baby burrowing down into my pelvis!

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2007 10:33

No, it is ok - think I am a bit selfish cos I've still got 4 weeks til my EDD - I forget how close some of us are and how uncomfy a lot of us are - Hav to do after all the bubs have come though!!

Hello MIABT and Bramshott -

YvieE · 26/03/2007 10:33

AngeG can't believe you never been to Ikea - well after my experience on saturday am i wish i'd never been there - 2 hours to return a chest of drawers

Hi CD - I did go to the baby show and I had a lovely time. Didn't drive there so didn't pick up to many bargains - picked up a few freebies...that i'm throwing into my hospital bag now, i.e. nappies, disposable changing pads etc! Must admit it was tiring because there was so much to see and do and I couldn't believe how many preganant women there were there!

CaptainDippy · 26/03/2007 10:37

Glad you have a good time sweeite!

YvieE · 26/03/2007 10:39

MIABT and Ange - I've also been having these periody type pains on and off - they usually don't last for long. I'd forgotten what period pains were like, i have so enjoyed not having one
Tilli sending baby "head down at all times" vibes
Bramshott and Eca - Sorry that you both had painful nights, hope you can get some rest during the day?

GirtWaspbElly · 26/03/2007 10:49

Oh CD that'd be lovely! Esp as I've to go to Portsmouth anyway and might as well just keep going! Not sure how long I'll be ale to sit & drive for though as baby keeps punching my hips or something. Would have to be soon (this week?)as I'm due on 4th, and Ange's section's soon!

Ah yes, afterpains...keep on meaning to go into Boots in town & buy everytthing from witch hazel to painkillers.

WCL - well done darling, a real fairytale - hoping to match you! for you all. I knew a lovely Gabe at Uni (he was gorrrgeous/sexy and not at all effeminate) and Gable is another acceptable shortening...hope that helps persuade DH!

If we could keep that contraction timer current I think it might be quite useful as i couldn't concentrate enough to time mine shortening so quickly and REALLY needed to pace, and dh was faily clueless bless him.

Lusciousladylush · 26/03/2007 10:52

Hi all,

So excited to hear the first baby has popped out... brought tears to my eyes as I read all your posts!. Sounds really promising for Octo if shes down to 4 mins appart and lasting for a minute! with my DS by the time I got to this stage the birth was only 5 hrs away!!!

On first day of maternity leave today.. yippeee! Not sure quite what to do with myself as DS is at his nans and I have workmen in sanding back the floors in my front room, a little concerned when I walk past wincing (in case labout starts I guess!) Have had to reassure them I have 3.5 weeks still to go, and hubby is only round the corner... incase they leave my floors half done as this pregnant woman thing is too stressful for them!.

Luscious xxxx

Birdiebump · 26/03/2007 10:53

Good morning all!

Wow! A late night for some - keeping fingers crossed for Octo.

Tili - well done on LO turning. Mine had a very active (and painful for me!) night last night so I am just hoping that she hasn't turned back again. Having said that most of the action seems to have been at the top of the bump which I'm hoping are her feet! As you can see I'm useless at telling which bit of baby is which..... Fingers crossed both our babies are obliging little things and stay like they're supposed to!

Eddas - I had all the mini eggs.... Yum!

Ange - sorry to hear you are feeling a bit rough - would it be a bad thing if you went into labour spontaneously? I mean would they let you try to give birth vaginally or is it very important you have a CS? You may have already said and I have forgotten. BTW I have never been to Ikea either ! My nearest one is Bristol as well and the thought of having to move round the store like you're on some sort of conveyer belt (so I've been told?) has always put me off so far....

muminabigtumi · 26/03/2007 10:56

Hi CD!!! (through mouthful of very squashy Smarties Cookie!)

AngeG - you arenot going on about it at all - I feel exactly the same - if my section is the 16th it too will only be 4 days before my due date which seems to leave it a bit late to me......
I will be pushing for the week before to be honest...but as it is Easter the satff will probably all be on holidays etc and so that puts me off slightly...

YvieE - I know what you mean about the period like pains - it is so long since I had period pain now but it is all too familiar when it comes back.

Runny - have meant to say all weekend - was thinking of your sister and glad Op went well.

I am really chuffed today - I popped into work after dropping James at nursery (can't keep away!) and my boss has been desperate to be a Grandma ever since I have wroked there. Her daughter (same age as me) has had a terrible time TTC - polycystic ovaries and not producing any eggs - al sorts of difficulties and they had given up all hope as it has been going on a few years....well

SHE's Pregnant! and it's in the right place - she is about 7 weeks so lots of finger crossing please - I cried when she told me - I was just over the moon for them.

Right - really am going to go and put feet up for a bit and read the paper.
x

AngeG · 26/03/2007 11:00

Birdie - No it wouldn't be a bad thing, except I would want to get to the hospital for a c-section if possible. DH does not want to be there if natural delivery and I've just counted on it being an elective section all calm and everything not more emergency because I'm already in labout iyswim

Thought I'd be the only one who hadn't been to Ikea.

LL - Hooray ML.

Hi waspelly

AngeG · 26/03/2007 11:01

MIABT - What lovely news it has bought tears to my eyes and shivers down my neck.
I love hearing stories like that. Sending losts of positive vibes her way.

nuttygirl · 26/03/2007 11:04

Right well think I've managed to catch up. Can't remember anything, yet again.

Err...

WCL - loved the birth story, looking forward to finding out what you and DH have decided to call him.

Tili - glad to hear baby is now head down and stays that way.

CD - No need to send the socks...sorry if I'm being a pain...managed to get some from Debenhams at weekend (yes...Debenhams...the shop that 2 weeks ago told me they don't do christening stuff and yesterday had a great display full of it )

Am feeling & today. DH has f*ed the tea up for the past 3 days. On Fri, all he had to do was bring something home from the supermarket (not even cook it). He brought something I didn't like. Thought it was a mistake (ie he hadn't read the full description) so I said "Err, I can't eat that it's got a cheese sauce on it" His reply..."Yeah I knew you wouldn't like it but it wa the only thing that was big enough for both of us, everything else came in individual packs" told him Sainsbury's would probably have let him buy more than 1 ready meal. Ended up having my b'day meal on Fri instead of Sat. On Sat he ruined the roast cos he didn't listen to my instructions (ended up having yucky chinese takeaway). Last night, I checked on tea at 8pm, all fine, went to sit down for 5 mins. Told DH to watch tea for 5 mins before serving. I go through at 5 past 8 cos i could hear clattering and he's served it all...and none of it's cooked properly. Couldn't put it back in either. Ended up with pizza hut.

To top it all off he rang MIL last night who was a b*h again saying i give things up easily (cos i quit my job after having panic attacks for months). She's so pro breast feeding (bottle fed her first and breastfed DH) so I just feel loads of pressure to manage it. DH made it worse by telling her "I'm sure she'll be able to breastfeed cos her breast leak lots already" & that he said those things to her, it's none of her business. AND she's said she wants to visit at easter weekend if LO is born by then...FFS it's due the day before good friday. I don't want my ILs to arrive the day after it's born (or my own parents for that matter). I'm just so

weeonion · 26/03/2007 11:07
