Congratulations @wildone81 ! I love the name Emily.

CatRash · 28/06/2017 10:41

Congratulations @Wildone81!! A lovely baby girl!! Hope you're recovering well!!

glitterglitters · 28/06/2017 12:20

I'm in bloody agony today. I woke up at about 2am with contractions. On and off till dh woke up at 6.

Called him before he left unsure whether or not to get him to stay. Told him to go to work.

Dd woke up at 7 and she has a stairgate on her door (we're on different floors) she kept calling for me but I couldn't move at all.

Ended up calling dh from work and fil to let himself in to go in and get her out of her room.

As soon as dh turned up the bloody contractions tapered off. I've managed to get some sleep, she's at her nan's house now for the afternoon and I'm sat on the couch half having contractions half not.

I've got no bloody idea what's going on Confused but nothing is regular enough for me to go "yep!"

Thankfully dh has stayed home and has gone to get us a KFC because he is a hero Grin I've made a nest of blankets on the sofa as well and binge watching TV.

Hope everybody else is ok! Xxx

ButterflyFree · 28/06/2017 12:28

The spread eagling kept me up until 5am... such a weird sensation to feel him kicking/punching/(whatever he's doing) on both the left and the right side at the same time! I think he must have inherited long limbs from his father 😅

Going for a hair treatment this afternoon - it's called Yuko Anti Frizz and is an all natural version of keratin/Brazilian blow dry apparently. Definitely need it as I will not have the time nor patience to properly style my hair when baby arrives... and if I leave my hair to dry naturally DH mocks me for my 'Einstein frizz' 😩😂

LuciBee231015 · 28/06/2017 13:45

Ohhh glitters how frustrating it that!! If they would have stayed regular you would have been on your way girl!

Still nothing really from me apart from yet more BH. Bit of pressure in my back with the last couple but still no pain or anything.

Got my reflexology at 5pm so wonder if that will kick start anything... I doubt it but worth a try I suppose. 40+5 today

Need2morehands · 28/06/2017 14:38

Congratulations wildone. I'm not good at staying updated on my phone with everyone but it's been nice knowing I can come on here and see where everyone's up to and how their getting on. Iv had a chaotic few days, yesterday I had another growth scan but was told it was unreliable dues to how far along I am (38+3) baby's head is 3/5 engaged bump is still messing 30 so had to go back today. Consultant said booking in to be induced would be her recommendation so I agreed to that next week and had a sweep today and was already 2cms so iv no idea if il even get to my induction date.

Can't wait to hear about more adorable babies being born FlowersSmile

ButterflyFree · 28/06/2017 17:31

I think we need to start a tally of all the July thread babies who have been born already because I'm losing track! Another lovely announcement on the FB group just now too.

How many have we welcomed so far?

CatRash · 28/06/2017 17:32

Oh @glitterglitters - this baby is running circles around you already! Clearly indecisive about whether or not they want to leave the cosiness of your womb yet!!

Hopefully things get going again tonight!!! Fingers crossed for you!! Keep us updated!!

Mawita · 28/06/2017 18:30

Wow this themread is moving so quick. Thanks all for the advice on breast pumps a few pages back. Sorry baby brain means I can't rememeber all the names.

Congrats @wildone glad to hear all went well.

I now have 1.5 days left at work! So exciting, I am so tired of commuting and just can't get my brain to engage anymore.

I woke up with a very sore throat and I now have achy legs and arms I think I am getting a cold! :( I can hardly swallow. :(

I can't get sick I have NCT, handover and a scan on Friday plus my baby shower on Saturday.

Any tips for natural ways to fight the incoming?!

@glitter it sounds like your body is preparing to get going. Fingers crossed tonight is he night.

@lucibee I hope the reflexology works, I am going to try that next week more because my feet are aching so much from the weight.

@not I hope the BF situation improves soon for u, it can't be easy but be kind and patient with yourself. Little steps you are doing so well.

@haich I hear you on the hungry front... I am continuously eating and hungry...

Had my diabetes appoiment yesterday and the doctor wasn't so happy with my levels this time. She wants to see me once a week now. Which is fine except those clinics run 3 hours late on a regular basis.

Have amazing evenings everyone!

Flappergirl86 · 28/06/2017 18:46

Congratulations on all your lovely babies and labour stories ladies ♡ you're all warriors x

glitterglitters · 28/06/2017 18:48

Thanks everybody. It's been a rollercoaster today of stop/start/stop/start.

Currently hiding in our bedroom whilst dh sorts out dd for bed etc. I've had more contractions that are absolute beasts. Multiple minutes and peaks. If this isn't it then my body is going to have bugger all left to do afterwards.

I spent three hours in the bath earlier singing along to Spotify to get the oxytocin going. Neighbour must think I'm insane Grin

Have to say I really hope it is today but dh will have to go to work tomorrow and I can't imagine being like this all day with a toddler to look after Confused

glitterglitters · 28/06/2017 18:49

I think I'm mainly just worries because my last labour was eventually quite short and I'm scared I'll hold on a bit too long this time and have them in a car park. Blush

My friend had her little boy on a gurney in her driveway with all the neighbours watching Shock apparently the paramedic was in shock after lol

Spindelina · 28/06/2017 18:58

Sorry to hear it's not going one way or the other, glitter. Lots of TV tomorrow!

I've got a few friends who have had accidental home births before the paramedics arrived. It happens, and it's not the end of the world!

glitterglitters · 28/06/2017 19:07

Lol true but we've got new carpets Grin

nat2311 · 28/06/2017 19:59

@glitterglitters hopefully it will be tonight! Fingers crossed!

@LuciBee231015 how was the reflexology?

OP posts:
HaichM · 28/06/2017 20:04

Glitters: I will keep my fingers crossed for you that something starts soon so you know one way or another.

Mawita: boo about long clinic waiting times. What are your favourite things to eat at the moment or is it just an everything and anything kind of thing?

Two questions - how do I join the FB group and I keep getting pains in my pubic area, sometimes like the bone itself aches or the fanny daggers someone else mentioned. Are they something I should be concerned about?

mynameisntLinda · 28/06/2017 20:20

@hiachm send me a private message with your name and ill find you on fb and add you. Give me a hint of your profile pic so i know i add the right person

@mawita eucalyptus for decongestant. Honey in hot water for your throat (lemon too if you like it). Paracetamol if needed fir headaches and aches. Hot water bottle or one of those microwave bean bag thingies for achey muscles and joints

@glitterglitters man youre having a really sucky time :( sympathies xx

@need2morehands i was 2cm whrni had a sweep with ds but he came a week later. It was 2cm but still thick apparently so i think it depends how soft it is as well as how dilated

2 days left in work but then a busy week so hoping baby hamgs on. Dont feel like shes due anytime soon anyeay but i do now have my pool so at least we'll be ready

ButterflyFree · 28/06/2017 20:29

Oh gosh @glitterglitters you poor thing being in such limbo! I laughed at your new carpets comment though 😂 maybe get DH to source a tarpaulin sheet you can keep at home just in case?! Really hope things swing into proper action for you sooner rather than later.

@Mawita Yaay for 1.5 days left at work, boo for brewing a cold and for the extra clinic appointments (& waiting times), but good that they are monitoring you closely. Do you have a family history of diabetes? As for natural remedies to fend off the cold, all I can suggest is drink plenty of hot water with honey, lemon & ginger. Also use some Vicks vapour rub if you start feeling congested - either in a bowl of boiling water to inhale with a towel over your head, or rub some on a tissue or cloth.

@HaichM I believe @mynameisntLinda is the lady who can get you into the exclusive FB group 😉🔐

I'm also eagerly awaiting an update from @LuciBee231015 re: the reflexology appointment... if it works it'll go straight to the top of my list of potentially labour-inducing activities to try over the coming weeks!

I'm the opposite of everyone who can't stop eating - my appetite is virtually non-existent at the moment and my mum is having to force feed me because she says I'm not eating enough. I don't know if it's just because baby is getting bigger and taking up a lot of room, so I don't feel like I have space in my stomach... I'm usually a right pig but you can barely even tempt me with a chocolate biscuit these days.

HaichM · 28/06/2017 21:06

Butterfly: my appetite varies and sometimes I go hours without really wanting anything and then I have hours where i can't stop wanting to eat. I get full really easily though so I know what you mean about baby taking up room. I'm also a comfort eater and have been feeling a bit stressed the last few days so that probably isn't helping. Thanks to my hyperemesis and food aversions biscuits are very hit and miss anyway Sad

Twixes · 28/06/2017 21:18

@glitterglitters what a nightmare you're having! You'll be exhausted if you go into established labour tonight Sad

I don't really have an appetite either but it hasn't stopped me gorging all the same. I can't stop eating even though I'm not hungry Confused I'm dreading trying to get into my jeans after baby arrives!

Spindelina · 28/06/2017 21:30

I've spent the evening making DD's birthday cake. Feeling a bit sick with all the sugar!

mynameisntLinda · 28/06/2017 21:33

I feel like im eating normally but i mustnt be as i weighed myself this morning and ive lost another pound so will mention it again when i see mw tomorrow even though theyve said theyre not concerned.
I dont have much of an apetite and baby is defo taking up stomache room so aiming for little and often.
Currently finishing off a box of chocolate fingers whilst watching Scorpion Grin

hiachm ive replied to your pm coz i coukdnt find you on fb. Ive removed my security settings so you can find me on fb and send a friend request so i can add you to the group

glitterglitters · 28/06/2017 22:20

So I've been getting pretty painful, regular contractions now. Just been up to the hospital midwife led unit (not the one I want to go to but I was given a bit of "oh well. We'd have to send midwives there and it'd be inconvenient blah blah blah")

And I'm right at the beginning Confused

Apparently I'm only 1cm but contracting loads. I'm so fed upppppo 😭😭😭
Then the midwife said it could be "half an hour, probably tomorrow morning... though it could be a week"

Gahhhhhh

Spindelina · 28/06/2017 22:28

glitters last time I had a sweep in the morning (10am? Something like that) then walked home with pretty painful tightenings. They got more and more regular and unignorable - by 8pm they were lasting 1 min every 3 mins, so I got a taxi. 2cm! They sent me for a walk, then took pity on me and let me stay in the obs room overnight. Next morning, still 2cm. By now 41+5, so they broke my waters at 10am, and I got sent for another walk. I was fully dilated by 1pm and DD was born at 2:14.

I empathise with fed up!

Notyetthere · 28/06/2017 22:44

Thank you all for the support and advice you have given me over the last couple of days. I have had a much better day today. Baby slept too well last night that I had to wake her up to feed!

I went to the breastfeeding support group and I was the only one there initially which was good as the consultant concentrated on observing my latch, examined the lump and even massaged it for me to get the milk flowing which then got baby interested in that boob having rejected it for the last 48hrs. We also cracked it together that baby latches on better using a nipple shield. I have fed her from that boob mostly today and the lump is practically gone! Yippee! Now that boob is softer she is not rejecting it anymore. I will continue with the shields until my nipples are less sore and the healed. All in all things are looking brighter.

Baby had her first bath today courtesy of DH being supervised by grandma. Did she scream the house down! I expected it but my god was that loud. DH has decided once a week will do 😂.

And what is the pong the chord stump! I keep thinking we have a filthy nappy but it's the bloody chord. I can't wait to see it gone. It stinks.
