I'd definitely phone 111 and feed as much as possible from that side. Take ibuprofen as well and try and dangle feed to see if baby can remove the blockage. Let me see if I can find a link x

LuciBee231015 · 27/06/2017 18:52

I've booked myself in for reflexology tomorrow at 5. Thought why not give it a try! The lady said if no baby in 48 hours she will come back again and do it for free!

Then I started reading up on pressure points etc, apparently the soft part of your hand between your thumb and first finger up where the 2 bones join is linked somehow, so massaging it firmly is meant to bring on contractions. I was doing a few mins on each hand for about 15 mins altogether l, just had a rather strong period type pain that made me have a loose bowel movement again (soz tmi) lasted 2-3 mins and has now gone 😳

Maybe it works? Wonder if I get any more or should I keep massaging lol

glitterglitters · 27/06/2017 19:04

I had to cancel my appointment for tomorrow as my mother in law cancelled having my daughter. Gutted is an understatement

ButterflyFree · 27/06/2017 19:16

Thank you for all the invaluable information and links shared on the thread today ladies - just caught up on all the posts and will definitely be taking note of some of the advice I've read.

Sorry to hear you're having a difficult time @Notyetthere - hopefully it's just 'teething problems' and the support group tomorrow will be able to help you. ❤️

@LuciBee231015 That sounds very interesting about the reflexology - you'll have to keep us updated and let us know if it really works or not!

Meanwhile, I've just returned from Homebase (so glamorous), where a young man felt it appropriate to proposition me by offering his services as a stepdad!! He actually came up to me and said "Excuse me babes, I'd be more than happy to help you raise that baby when it comes..." !!!!!! 😂😂😂 I just brandished my hand with my engagement & wedding rings in his direction and he quickly retreated uttering "oh sorry, sorry, sorry yeah" 🤣 Can't believe he approached me as a pregnant woman completely assuming I was a single mum.

glitterglitters · 27/06/2017 19:24

@ButterflyFree 🤣🤣🤣🤣

nat2311 · 27/06/2017 19:26

@LuciBee231015 obviously trying that out now too! Fingers crossed for you!

Is there a difference in pregnancy massage and pregnancy reflexology? Locally there isn't many options for massage. I booked one when I was away in Cornwall but the lady cancelled so am still to try it out!

@ButterflyFree I have to admire his courage and laugh but so not appropriate to be propositioning pregnant women!!

@nat2311 definitely a questionable method for trying to pick up his next ladyfriend 🤣

Hoping everything went well for @wildone81 and her planned c-section today ❤️

wildone81 · 27/06/2017 22:09

Just a quick update....Emily Susan arrived safely at 9.59 this morning Smile 6lbs 6.5oz of amazing and we're completely besotted!

LuciBee231015 · 27/06/2017 22:09

I didn't get any more pains after that one, just more regular BH. Fingers crossed for some magic after my reflexology appointment tomorrow!

Spindelina · 27/06/2017 22:12

Congratulations, wildone! Hope you're enjoying lots of snuggles!

glitterglitters · 27/06/2017 22:30

Congratulations @wildone81 what a gorgeous name ❤️❤️❤️❤️

ButterflyFree · 27/06/2017 22:31

Yaay! Huge congratulations @wildone81 & welcome to the world baby Emily Susan 💕

Wishing you a speedy and comfortable recovery from the section, and lots of lovely bonding and newborn snuggles.

rhodes2015 · 27/06/2017 22:43

Massive congratulations to you wildone!!

Notyetthere · 27/06/2017 22:58

Algebraic pump is the Phillips avent manual pump. I think if my nipples weren't sore I would have been able to express.

Glitter thank you for the link and all the advice. It has kept me sane on a difficult day. Breast is so engorged even baby doesn't want to latch onto it. I have just tricked her with a nipple shield as I have been using one on the other breast just to give the tender nipple a break and I think she fell for it.

Sorry all for bringing the post baby mood down. Day 5 postpartum and the baby blues have hit me hard. There are lots of positives to celebrate so really I should be upbeat. Midwife came and weighed baby she lost 175g which is 5% birth weight so all good there. Heel pick test was also completed.

glitterglitters · 27/06/2017 23:12

@Notyetthere only 5%! That's fantastic! And don't worry, days 3 and 5 are total killers. You're doing amazingly and you're dealing with it brilliantly. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Can you go without bra and top for a while? Just get as much air to the affected nipple as possible.

Your little girl is so lucky to have you looking after her. You're doing brilliantly and hopefully with the shield etc you can flush it out. The group tomorrow should be able to give you some more practical advice too xxxx

ButterflyFree · 27/06/2017 23:16

Bless you @Notyetthere - don't apologise at all!! As @glitterglitters said, you are doing brilliantly and your little girl is so lucky to have you as her mama. We will all be on the hormonal rollercoaster with you soon enough (in fact some of us - certainly me included - are already well and truly riding it!) and this group/thread is exactly where you can come to share all the ups and downs, vent a bit, and be sure to receive plenty of support and understanding ❤️❤️

LuciBee231015 · 28/06/2017 05:48

Congrats Wildone!! Hope you and Emily are both doing well xx

mynameisntLinda · 28/06/2017 06:48

Congrats wildone lovely to hear another baby arrived.

not these are the hardest days you're doing well. If you feel down for prolonged periods make sure you speak to someone. Dont suffer in silence.

Twixes · 28/06/2017 06:52

Massive congrats @wildone81! A very pretty name choice I hope you're both doing well.

Oh @Notyetthere you poor pet, it sounds like you're suffering badly. The only advice I have is to try to feed from the engorged side and keep topped up with paracetamol. Hopefully the ladies at the group can help you today. Sending you hugs.

Nothing to report here, one week til baby arrives, eeek! I've a list of things to get through but not making great progress with it as my DH has been off work sick the last two days. Very unlike him to stay home from work, he's in a bad way. I really hope he's kicked it by next week!

LuciBee231015 · 28/06/2017 07:58

Im 40+5 today and very impatient! Got my reflexology at 5pm today, fingers crossed some magic happens. For now I'm sitting in bed with tea and biscuits!

Not hope you are ok, hang in there!

nat2311 · 28/06/2017 08:03

Congratulations @wildone81 gorgeous name!

@Notyetthere don't apologise that's why the groups here for support. Admittedly I'm useless as I'm a first timer too but those who have done it before are full of knowledge. And when we all have those days which we will you will be able to tell us that we'll get through them 😊

Seahawk80 · 28/06/2017 08:36

Oh God the spread eagling! We went to a
"Hipster" cinema thing last night -
It's set up like a beach and you sit on beanbags, was leaning back in the beanbag and felt like baby was going to break out! Also DH had to haul me up at the end as I could not get up! 😂

Seahawk80 · 28/06/2017 08:37

And congrats @wildone81 !

HaichM · 28/06/2017 08:37

Wildone: congratulations!

Vicky: that's me! 35 weeks and I'm always hungry now
