I've bought a cheapo one @ButterflyFree from Amazon, it had pretty good reviews. I think I'll need it as my stomach muscles have separated :(

ButterflyFree · 25/06/2017 01:01

Thanks @Algebraic I hadn't thought of checking Amazon... is yours from a specific company? What material is it made from? I'm after something comfy but effective - some of the ones I've seen look like proper stiff corsets!

LuciBee231015 · 25/06/2017 07:36

Nothing further from me. Had a lovely uninterrupted sleep. This is torture lol.

Glitters, what about you?

glitterglitters · 25/06/2017 07:54

Slept well till 3:30am then had a headache. I've woken up at 6 and got some horrendous pains but not "take my breath away cant function"yet. Pretty regular but just taking it easy to see if it develops.

Hope they do come today for two reasons.

  1. their first ever meal will be Christmas dinner

  2. It's George Orwell's birthday too

Grin
LuciBee231015 · 25/06/2017 07:58

Jealous of your pains!!! Lol. I really had a feeling yesterday was the day.

...the waiting continues

glitterglitters · 25/06/2017 08:27

Mmm I think I spoke too soon.

Interacted with my screaming toddler and they've vanished again Angry

mynameisntLinda · 25/06/2017 08:57

@Algebraic get some anusol on there! it's done me wonders!
@butterflyFree I was only painting fence panels. I was painting ds's nursery at 38 weeks last time haha. I just don't know how to stop.
I think nesting has been kicking in, cleaned all our windows and hoovered all 3 floors. washed every item that can be washed and today i'm going to do bedding (when dh gets out of bed lol), and im dying to sweep and mop the kitchen once dh has stopped cutting wood for the garden.

re a support belt for afterwards i'm not sure how they would actually work. If you're going to breastfeed thats good at shrinking everything back in. Also, if you're stomach muscles are separated there are specific exercises to draw them back together before you go back to normal tummy exercises. A lady at buggy bootcamp said if you excercise as normal it just causes the muscles to separate further.
I'm not one for exercise though so i'm no expert lmao

Good news wildon

HaichM · 25/06/2017 10:04

Algebraic: do you have diastasis recti? I have that and it means my tummy muscles have separated. I've been doing the exercises and it has been helping (though I've been doing them less this week as my routine has been different with not being at work) and I know there's specific ones to do after birth as well.

I don't think the head is engaged but I think it wants to engage and that's why it's so los maybe? I've had some where I've not been sure if the tight feeling is just baby's position or movements but then I've had some definite bh with my back too. Last time I didn't really have bh until 37 weeks and then 2 weeks later gave birth but I don't think the same thing is going to happen this time.

Think I overdid it yesterday walking around town with my friend as between my legs was really really painful when I got home and my hips hurt too. Going to try and get into a better routine with the exercises.

SelfObsessionHoney · 25/06/2017 10:08

Hi guys, I haven't been an active poster but have been reading the thread.
DS and I came home yesterday after a section following a failed induction, born the 22/6/17 at 12:56, weighing 9lbs 4oz, was originally due on the 7/7/17.

LuciBee231015 · 25/06/2017 10:09

Well I've had quite a lot of plug etc this morning and just had an upset tummy... COME ON BABY!

...still no pains or anything tho 🙄

Spindelina · 25/06/2017 10:20

Congratulations, self! He looks scrummy. Hope you're doing well - sounds like you've been through the wringer.

rhodes2015 · 25/06/2017 10:40

Aww congratulations self!! He's beautiful!!! Well done. Hope you're feeling ok x

SelfObsessionHoney · 25/06/2017 10:48

Thanks guys, he's perfect!

They tried inducing as he was large for gestational age but my cervix of steel repelled all attempts, didn't even dilate to 1cm after numerous pessaries and so I had the most lovely, calm and peaceful elective section. Was just perfect.
Spent two nights in hospital after the birth for additional feeding support as I wanted to have breastfeeding cracked before we came home. So was in for a week altogether.
Feeling a bit tender and tired, but am keeping on top of my pain with regular pain killers.
Currently sat feeding, DP has gone out to buy me fruit and we're waiting for the community midwife to visit at some point.

rhodes2015 · 25/06/2017 11:22

I thought actually self when you said original due date was 7/7, what cracking weight he is! Glad your section was a positive experience, really nice to hear.

Need2morehands · 25/06/2017 11:56

Congratulations self he's adorable. I haven't posted much myself either. Old house completes next t week and decorating new one had taken all my time and effort. My due date is the 8th but will find out Wednesday if I'm being induced early it doesn't seem quite real yet that il have a scrummy baby in a matter of days now. Iv been having lots of twinges aches and pains but nothing comes of it with my first my waters went with a gush a ds1 was here 7 hours later so maybe this one will be the same. I can't wait for babies first dinner to be at Christmas either how cute! Smile

glitterglitters · 25/06/2017 13:24

Awwww @SelfObsessionHoney he's gorgeous!!!!!! Congratulations! X

ButterflyFree · 25/06/2017 13:54

Wow @mynameisntLinda full of admiration for your continued dedication to housework and DIY even at this late stage... I don't even do it when I'm not pregnant 😂

I know breast feeding and even the placenta encapsulation I'm getting done are supposed to be great natural ways to shrink everything back into place, but I've heard wearing a tummy wrap can also be very helpful for tucking in and generally neatening up the belly area, so I'm definitely willing to try that...

@LuciBee231015 That sounds like something could well be happening... fingers crossed!

@SelfObsessionHoney Congratulations on the arrival of your little man! What a cutie. Enjoy all the snuggles. Glad to hear you had a positive c-section experience.

mynameisntLinda · 25/06/2017 18:16

Haha thanks @butterflyfree 19 0r 19 fence panels painted and im beat. Gave them another coat today but rain meant i coukdnt do the fence posts and then ds came home from mil at half 2 so we were out of time.

Congrats @selfobsessionhoney !
How are you finding moving about etc following the section?

@need2morehands hope thr house stuff runs smoothly. Sounds like a busy time.
Dont think ive quite linked that the wriggly thing in my belly will be an actual squishy new baby.
Im hoping to avoid christmas this year because i dont plan on weaning until at least 6 months so that we can do blw again. And i know if i go to someones for christmas theyll all just be trying to feed her. Were going away in december to my mums (when we get round to soŕting flights) but i dont think shell interfere with food.
Eurgh i dread christmas already. Im not very social and i just dont think i can be botheted traipsing round all of dhs family. Bah humbug. Thats a grumble for another day lol

Chilling in the bath (trying to rid myself of all the fence paint) before i start nightmare bedtime with ds. (Alwayd a pain when hes been at mil but i was the same as a kid too)

glitterglitters · 25/06/2017 19:04

@mynameisntLinda I know what you mean about people and trying to give food.

It's looking unlikely this one is coming today and I'll be waiting till 6 months on the nose too.

The amount of people who kept waving their grubby fingers with ice-cream on when dd was 2 months old Confused I think I'd blanked that out.

Need2morehands · 25/06/2017 19:38

My oh comes from an enormous family who are all super excited for baby to be here il have to be very watchful at Christmas time with them. I ff my ds and will hopefully bf this one purely to help us bond as I struggled last time iv attended bf classes at my hospital so feel like I know as much as possible and fingers crossed it works for us both.

Mawita · 25/06/2017 19:58

Congrats @self baby looks lovely and healthy! And what a head of hair! Never seen a blond baby with so much hair at
Birth.

I am currently in bed after big dinner feeling very much like a whale.

A friend from work who was 2 weeks behind me just had her baby. It was an emergency and baby is 6 weeks early. She and baby are fine but so many babies last few days!!

Mine has to stay in for another 2 weeks that's all I ask!

Evening ladies!

ButterflyFree · 25/06/2017 20:12

Another birth to announce - my SIL (the one whose waters broke 2 months ago but somehow managed to carry to full term) gave birth to a beautiful healthy baby boy named Saif today. Her due date was 6th July 👶🏽💙

I also lost a bit of my plug for the first time this afternoon, so who knows what that means (if anything)... but a trip to Mothercare to tick off the final essentials on my list is a must tomorrow!

nat2311 · 25/06/2017 20:52

@Self congratulations!!

@ButterflyFree that's brilliant news congratulations to your Sil!!

Hi all,

Congrats on babies born so far!

Due 13 July so 37+3 and already symptoms m spotting 😂 DD1 was born at 38+4 so I know I'll be extra gutted if I'm late. Induction date would be 25 July which feels an age away.

My 'symptoms' have mostly been pressure down below, nesting and a spot on my chin (I've literally not had a spot for 8 months despite normally having monthly chin outbreaks!). I know I'm clutching... Blush

Don't finish work until Wednesday so anytime after that will be fine- I'd quite like a 4th July baby!

mynameisntLinda · 25/06/2017 22:37

Yes @glitterglitters i remember my dad attemptong to give him lemon mirangue and some mcflurry when he was about 4 or 5 months...and then in the same breath tells me how i should stave of sweet foods as long as possible so i dont give him a sweet tooth Hmm. Not someone i ever take parenting advice from anyway.

Oh thats fab news butterfly

morehands i found my local sure start centre a big help with bf. They had a bf meet up once a week but if they dont run jn the holidays i think laleche league still run in places. I struggled for a while to bf. Had a nightmare first 6 weeks but at least this time i know that it doesnt last forever and hopefully it wont be so tough.
