@Bawbles he's lovely! What a chirpy chappy! Congratulations Smile

Had high bp at my appointment today so I had to get a trace and some extra bp monitoring. They were hit and miss so I'm back in on Sunday for more, there's a slight chance baby will be here before Wednesday:)

Notyetthere · 30/06/2017 21:02

Bawbles Monty is gorgeous. Congratulations!

VickyTheStitch · 30/06/2017 21:05

Congratulations on all the arrivals so far!

Hope things get going for you glitters.

I'm feeling pooped this evening. This baby is feeling very heavy and with braxton hicks on and off all day, I feel a bit tearful. I'm 39+3 and as this is my first I'm prepared for him to be late but not looking forward to another possible two weeks.

nat2311 · 30/06/2017 21:49

@Bawbles congratulations he's absolutely gorgeous! Those eyes! 😍

@glitterglitters I really hope you have your baby by the end of the weekend!! Same for you @LuciBee231015!

My mum dropped a bombshell while out for dinner with family tonight that she'll be at the hospital with us when I go in in labour. This hasn't been mentioned my whole pregnancy we've always said it will be just me and OH. She's already been upset that I haven't 'needed' her help at home since being on maternity leave and even said it was 'heart breaking' the other day when I said it was up to her to visit if she wanted and not because i need her to. So I'm really looking forward to telling her in the morning that she won't be coming to the hospital. Ideally i would have told her tonight but thought best not infront of the rest of the family. @ButterflyFree when I read about your mum I thought mine
Was behaving clearly jumped the gun!!

Thanks @HaichM - hope you will feel a bit more nested once you get the crib tomorrow and get a changing table set up. I'm not bothering with a table - just a changing mat on the floor will do me fine! Fingers crossed your mum will understand when you tell her and that it'll be a weight off your shoulders once you've spoken.

Thank you @rhodes2015 I'm sooo happy with the Moses basket - it's much bigger & sturdier than the wicker ones I saw in Peter Jones and Mothercare. Really nice design and I love that it's on a rocking stand. So I would highly recommend Shnuggle to anyone in the market for a Moses basket!

Oh bless you @nat2311 I'm sorry if I jinxed it for you... it's so awkward when they just presume and invite themselves isn't it. And you feel guilty because after all they are the ones who brought us into the world, but I really feel that the birth of a new child is such an emotional and personal moment between a couple. Just explain your feelings to her and hopefully she'll accept your reasoning - even if it takes her a little while to mull it over and digest it like my mum did. Good luck!

glitterglitters · 30/06/2017 23:12

Whoever said they have American Gods to binge watch, we've started watching it and it's brilliant!

Spindelina · 01/07/2017 02:21

Whoever said they have American Gods to binge watch

Me, me! Sort of tempted to get it out now... am sitting on my hands not tinkering with DDs cake (party this afternoon). Not asleep, anyhow.

Spindelina · 01/07/2017 02:22

Sorry, point of that: yay! Glad you are loving it.

Notyetthere · 01/07/2017 04:35

Watching it with dh but we don't get it. At all! I keep hoping that the next episode will make more sense but not yet. We get the gist that it is old vs new Gods?

Mawita · 01/07/2017 06:03

@bawbles congrats! He looks so awake and ready to rock and roll!

I had my last growth scan yesterday, my mum and FIL came with me. The sonographer did everything sooo quickly. I was in and out in 10 mins. And at the end she said that she was happyvasvivwas her last scan and she could go home early! My mum was so annoyed she can't understand why they rush us through...

Baby is all good, not big at all estimated weight 6.6pounds 3.7kilos at the moment. I've put on 4 kilos in the last month though!

FIL and Mum where happy to see him the sonographer said that apparently he is very hairy!

The ecperience did however confirm my fears that my mum might be too much at birth so despite my desire to have her there as emotional back up in case DH panics I have now decided it would be best for just me and him.

I hope I don't regret it, i think if I talk to her she would restrain but don't want to risk it. As @butterflyfree pointed out just can't manage overexcited grandma and labour!

We will see how I feel in a week or so!

It's my baby shower today and my last day of work yesterday! I felt so odd that it finally happened had a 2 day handover with my replacement. I am pleased I won't see them all for a few months at least.

I can't believe I am awake at this time...

glitterglitters · 01/07/2017 06:56

Awww @Mawita welcome to the crazy hours of child rearing 😂 I was the type who never got up before 10 at a weekend. Cannot remember the last time I slept last 6:20 now 🙈 even when the child is asleep. Lol.

At least you're aware now about how your mum will make you feel. I was terrified my dh would panic or start making very daft and inappropriate jokes when I was in labour (he is a big clown/daft brush) but he really surprised me. hopefully your other half will do the same.

@Notyetthere it's s lot to take in! (Obv no spoilers) but I'm a huge fan of The Sandman, Constantine and graphic novels. I'm also crazy into surrealist cinema and David Lynch etc so I'm loving it. Dh is very much "Wtf is going on?" And I keep squealing at the coin flipping (bit of a theme with Gaiman). I'm in my element but it's quite heavy going to dh so we've only seen two episodes so far.

Though he keeps getting annoyed every time I say "He was in Hollyoaks!" GrinGrinGrin

LuciBee231015 · 01/07/2017 07:08

Well I had regular painful (but manageable) contractions from 3.30 until about 8pm last night, then they went to to 10 mins apart and less pain full and by 10pm they had tailed off. I really thought that was the beginning of something I've woken up this morning very disheartened 😔

Bawbles congratulations he Is adorable!! 💙

glitterglitters · 01/07/2017 07:19

Gah @LuciBee231015 noooo! that's so frustrating.

I woke up at about 4am with horrid pains but then managed to drift back off.

You sort of resign yourself to nothing happening and then when you get a twinge you're like, "nope nope nope". Then it escalates and the minute you think "hmmmmm" it tapers off.

Hopefully means they'll be lovely docile babies that have already had us do the running around already (unlikely!) Grin

Twixes · 01/07/2017 08:48

Oh girls! @LuciBee231015 @glitterglitters what is the story with these babies?! They're certainly keeping you guessing (and awake!)

Mawita · 01/07/2017 09:04

All apologies for the awful misspelling I always type on my phone and it sometimes overwrites with gibberish! Also was half asleep.

@glitterglitters and @luciBee231015 these babies are just too comfy in mommy...i hope they decide to come and see the world this weekend.

glitterglitters · 01/07/2017 09:14

Fingers crossed. Grin

ButterflyFree · 01/07/2017 10:45

Good morning @Mawita - congratulations on finishing work yesterday and enjoy your baby shower today!

🙈 I feel like I've opened a can of worms since mentioning the mother-attending-the-birth thing haha. Better that you know from now that she probably wouldn't be the calming influence you need by your side in the throes of labour though. Nobody can blame you for wanting to keep it as a special moment between you and DH.

Glad everything went well at your growth scan although a little confused about the weights you mentioned... perhaps one was a typo? 6lbs 6 would be around 2.9kg (sounds right on the money - how many weeks are you now?) whereas 3.7kg works out to 8lbs 1.

Oh @LuciBee231015 @glitterglitters I'm getting desperate for your little ones to appear now so I can't imagine how you're both feeling!!

I couldn't sleep until after 5am; no idea why as I wasn't experiencing any aches or pains. In fact I haven't had any fanny daggers for well over a week now. I hit 36 weeks today; my mum gave birth to me at 35+4 so I'm officially more pregnant than she's ever been 😅

Things are finally open for business again in the UAE now after the loooong Eid holiday, and DH is currently at another medical assessment for his ankle as apparently one doctor has now flagged him for needing surgery! Really don't know if that's a good or bad thing 🤷🏼‍♀️ it feels weird saying that as obviously I would never wish surgery (or any kind of pain) on my beloved DH, but if it works in our favour regarding the military situation and being able to make it here for the birth... 🙄

glitterglitters · 01/07/2017 13:22

Yay for being able to get some progress @ButterflyFree

Bit of a double edge sword I'd imagine but hopefully things are moving in the right direction!

About to grab a sandwich and go aimlessly wandering around the roads by me with the toddler. She loves walking and I've been so sedentary lately I'm hoping stomping around the streets might get things moving.

ButterflyFree · 01/07/2017 13:31

@glitterglitters Well, the consultant today has referred him to ANOTHER specialist and he needs to do an ankle stress test under local anaesthetic (?!), which requires health insurance approval first. So the whole thing is just snarling up the process even more 😩

Definitely get stomping those pavements - come on out baby glitters!!

glitterglitters · 01/07/2017 13:32

Gah at least they're making double sure before they do anything!

LuciBee231015 · 01/07/2017 18:21

Absolutely nothing from me today... I'm so gutted. Looks like I'm heading for induction on wednesday 😔. I just feel so disappointed.

ButterflyFree · 01/07/2017 18:42

Oh no @LuciBee231015 you poor thing 😔 I was just thinking a few minutes ago that I hoped the silence on the thread today could be golden...

There's still plenty of time before Wednesday though so stay positive and don't resign yourself to that outcome yet. Baby Bee is clearly just very cosy in there, but may well pop out and surprise you at the last minute! Keeping my fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻

rhodes2015 · 01/07/2017 19:02

Aww luci really hope things start before Wednesday for you.

glitterglitters · 01/07/2017 19:07

There's still time @LuciBee231015 lots of people I know have turned up for their induction in labour.

Everything crossed for you xxxx

Spindelina · 01/07/2017 19:10

Luci I hope things happen for you soon. DD was born two days before the date I had for induction - hang on in there!

I am so so tired. I've been on my feet pretty much all day and my back / neck / shoulders / feet ache and I am going to fall asleep in about twenty minutes. But DD had a lovely party, so that's ticked off the list of things to do before giving birth.
