@ScotsLamb I bought a small wedge pillow on sale from Mothercare yesterday (think it was a fiver?). Quite good if you don't need something big taking up the whole bed yet.

Also, update - I was on the verge of calling the midwife after several weeks of worry about LB's quietness (prior to that he did move around a bit) when we suddenly got 3 proper kicks last night! And he's getting active today too 😄 So am now less worried and will hold off till anomaly scan this Friday 🙂

Brens13 · 02/07/2017 15:06

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends.

We bought a few baby things yesterday including our moses basket and baby monitor as they were both on sale. Then just a few cute or handy bits as was with my sister and she wants to spoil the baby.

Then today we ordered our pushchair! Got the mamas & papa's ocarro signature edition in dark navy. It is just so beautiful lol. And does everything we want. Can't wait to use it. Is so too early but my sis has offered to buy it so our main job when shopping yesterday was to test them all out and try and pick one, so as we succeeded decided not to wait and today I let DH see and choose the colour lol. I'm stupidly excited lol.

zaber I hope you're proud of my shopping lol.

Mrsbluebell17 · 02/07/2017 19:17

Brens that sounds like an awesome weekend of shopping. We will go a little more crazy on the shopping after the gender scan and 20 week scan I think, although we have a room full of baby stuff already which we've been gifted.

I've spent much of the day worrying that I should be able to feel movement by now and can't?! I'm 17 weeks and this is my first. Anyone got any guidance? Are the movements you feel at this stage just a feeling on the inside or can you feel it when you touch your tummy etc?

Mrsbluebell17 · 02/07/2017 20:54

It's very quiet over here this weekend. Is everyone now using the Facebook group? Hmm

Brens13 · 02/07/2017 21:04

There is some action on the Facebook group. But if the rest of the country was like here today maybe everyone's been enjoying the sunshine.
Also think as we're further along more people probably know about our pregnancies so mners can talk to real life people not just us lot about things lol.
I'm sure someone will be around at 4am for you bluebell lol, if I wake up I'll say hello Smile

glastogal · 02/07/2017 21:12

I've been reading but not had much to say as I've been poorly.. I'm still here though ladies!!

As for movement mrsB - I think first flutters show up anywhere between 16-21 weeks.. I feel as though I have felt some but they're really irregular and I keep talking myself out of them being real Grin I'm looking forward to proper regular movements so I can stop feeling like a crazy lady (18+4 today Wink)

dirtygrubbybikerchick · 02/07/2017 21:30

@Mrsbluebell17 I have been worrying about this in the last 2 weeks too! From about 14-15 weeks I started feeling (externally by putting my fingers on my tummy) little hard lumps that would move or disappear and reappear elsewhere, but felt nothing internally. Doctor told me that's the baby pushing out on the uterine wall. Then, from just before 17 weeks to last night, nothing. Couldn't feel anything internally or externally. Then, last night, I felt some twinges (like light cramps). I put my hand onto my belly over where I felt the twinges, and "boof" - (externally) felt a kick so hard it felt like it moved my hand! My husband then tried putting his lips on my belly and I felt (internally) another push, which he felt on his lips as a proper kick! Very very different to those initial lumps, and completely unmistakeable. Am now 18+5 x

ScotsLamb · 02/07/2017 21:31

Carley I'm still struggling with lightheadedness when ever I move to quickly or get up too soon or get woken suddenly from sleep. Generally it then leads to more nausea/sickness like it did today. Mine is linked to low blood pressure which is linked to lack of food/liquids however the more dizzy I feel the more sick I feel and th less likely to eat/drink. It's a horrible vicious cycle that I've only really worked out.
When home I try to drink and eat as much as possible. I then just have to deal with the sickness when it comes then start the cycle again. So far it's working better.
My antibiotic tablets made me throw up today. In the car. While driving. FML.

CheesecakeAddict · 02/07/2017 22:17

Carley, have you had your bloods checked for aneamia as well?
I think just being very careful about getting up slowly.

Sad my sickness definitely back. I think this has caused the blood.

Miami81 · 02/07/2017 22:31

Mrsbluebell it seems to get quieter on here at the weekends anyway!! I'm not ready for fb yet, will get there eventually but it feels a step too far for me right now.
I am 15 weeks today and so many crampy ligament pain things in the last couple of days. I think i am starting to develop a bump. Weird. But exciting.

Mrsbluebell17 · 03/07/2017 01:56

Brens 👋🏼 hi. I've only made it to 1:30 tonight before being wide awake!

Thanks glasto and biker. Hope you feel better soon glasto. Hopefully I'll feel some movement soon.

Sorry to hear you're feeling so bad scots, Carley, and cheesecake.
*
Miami* I know I'm the same re the Facebook group. Hope the pains are ok!!

Peachi82 · 03/07/2017 04:09

4am, here I am :-)

Had sharp pains in my right side yesterday and it hurt a lot when I bent over. Weird.

Work wise, I'm meeting Health and Safety today and we go over some paperwork.
I also had a lovely email of the office who actually decide on my grant explaining me the options for my leave and return. Still not sure whether it is possible that I return, but no one was talking about making me redundant straight away, that's a relief ;-)

Mrsbluebell17 · 03/07/2017 05:35

Morning peachi. Hope you got back to sleep ok?

I get stabbing pains like that after I sneeze Shock.

Hope your meeting goes well today.

I'm just getting ready for work now.

Didn't sleep well, very restless all night.

TipTop333 · 03/07/2017 08:01

Just checking in as I haven't posted on here for a while (I'm one of those guilty of posting primarily on the fb group) but I'm currently sneezing and grabbing my belly so I'm definitely empathising with those suffering round ligament aches and pains!

One week today until anomaly scan, you still need to keep slapping me to remind me it is a serious thing and not just a chance to find out the sex.

Jivebunny89 · 03/07/2017 09:17

Hello, thanks @ScotsLamb for pointing me in the direction of this new thread. Would like to be added to the spreadsheet and FB group please. (I can't edit the spreadsheet myself).

I'm 15+5, due 20th December. In York. Will be 28 when baby arrives. Hoping for a girl. First baby, and 20 week scan is on 2nd August!

Thankful that I appear to be past morning sickness.

Carley27 · 03/07/2017 11:44

haha glittery I will try telling DH he needs to do all the housework but I'm fairly sure what his response will be Grin

Scots you threw up WHILE driving? Sad that must be awful, hope the sickness eases up for you soon.

Welcome Jive we're due date and I think 20wk scan buddies (I put 4th August on the spreadsheet but I'm sure it's a Wed which is the 2nd.. I will need to double check!). Are you finding out the gender at your scan?

purplek1tty · 03/07/2017 13:42

Sorry to hear about all the sickness and lightheadedness going on! Hope you feel better soon.

I went to a friends bbq yesterday and totally forgot I couldn't eat as big a portion size as before, so ended up with terrible indigestion all night (self induced so no sympathy required!)

Just having a nosy on the spreadsheet, thanks for adding me. My other stats are:
Age 33
1st baby
Team Yellow
Anomaly scan 2nd August.
Due 21/12
Could I join FB too? Let me know how I go about doing so :-)

Peachi82 · 03/07/2017 13:44

We're due date twins, purplekitty :-)

I've still not made it on any list...

Didn't really manage to go back to sleep after 4am... Struggling quite a lot now. But well... I have a nap when I'm home from work.

Jivebunny89 · 03/07/2017 13:56

Hey @Carley87 yes, we'll be finding out at the 20 week scan.

We've not announced the pregnancy yet. Was anyone else nervous about telling their parents? Every time I see my dad, he goes on about how we don't own a house, and makes me feel like a failure for not doing so. Bringing a baby into the equation is going to stress him out so much. Our little one will be his first grandchild. Please can someone tell me they were nervous about announcing to their parents but it went OK?

tuxedocat · 03/07/2017 14:17

Hi all - I did join on a thread one back I think but been rubbish at checking!
I'm 17+5 (where does the time go?!) and expecting a lovely little boy 😄

Just wondering if anyone else has brown discharge after sex? DH & I haven't really been 'active' so it's been a while and now both worried as I had some brown discharge this morning. Popped a pad on and it's v v v scant, nothing more luckily - have called MW but no reply yet. I've read it's common but wondered if anyone else has had an experience?

purplek1tty · 03/07/2017 14:30

Awesome Peachi how do you feel about a possible Christmas baby?

Jive I did feel nervous, but probably because I knew a fuss would be made and I was enjoying it being our little secret. I'm sure your dad will be over the moon!

Peachi82 · 03/07/2017 15:11

I'm ok with a Christmas baby, purplekitty... We tried for 6 months, so the baby had a chance to have a different birthday, it just choose not to. Haha.

We've told both parents now and it went well.
I'm in the process of telling my employers and managers... This is far more stressful.

CheesecakeAddict · 03/07/2017 18:47

Tuxedo if it's brown then it's old so it's probably nothing. Just keep on top of the mw in case.

Jive, My parents knew I was trying so they were expecting it. They will be really excited

Oysterbabe · 03/07/2017 18:49

I think it's common Tuxedo, the cervix is easily irritated.

glastogal · 03/07/2017 19:21

Feeling frustrated by how long I have to wait for my anomaly scan.. I could have it now but it's still 2.5 weeks away Sad will be 21+1.. I'm just a grumpy cow. Anyone else having theirs late??
