Blarggghh - haven't been on since Friday and have missed so much (including an entire thread!)!

Very exciting to hear about those with plugs gone / shows etc!! Loads of green snot-type stuff coming out here , but just increasing levels of discharge I think, not anything more exciting. Feel heavy and uncomfortable though so can't imagine what Ooggs and 1b3 are going through! Hope both of you get a result soon.

I'm pretty packed and ready (including DD 'big-sister' present of a cinderalla dressing up outfit I got today) but find that the further on I get, the more I am in denial about the fact that this baby could in fact show up any day!! I'm getting very blase about it staying in another few weeks! But as someone said a while back, while I don't have any actual signs of imminence, I'm getting definite twinges occasionally which feel like my body remembering what muscles it will need for contractions. Does anyone else find themselves thinking occasionally "maybe it just won't ever come out", and half wanting it not to!!

Still going with the perineal massage most nights, but fear I am a bit 'half-hearted' about it - just sort of wave oily fingers around in the general area!!

Tili-buddy - sorry to hear that yours hasn't taken heed and turned yet. Keep going with the 'bum in air' positions - they are supposed to work aren't they!

No brain any more at this time of night, so sorry for no more personals! Suffice to say you are all in my thoughts a lot, but not much of it makes its way onto here in a coherent fashion!

37+1 - wow! So no premmies here!!

WestCountryLass · 19/03/2007 21:38

PS. 1B3, don't tell DH about the globules of goooo, that might not help set the mood

CaptainDippy · 19/03/2007 22:26

Good to "see" you Bramshott - yey for no preemies this time - Go Baby!

I'm off to bed now, v.tired....

Sorry I didn't mention anyone elses posts, but brain is mush - My bubba hasn't turned yet either - so you're not alone Tili hon!!

Hello All
I know i sound like a broken record - but still no babies - what is going on?
Runnyhabbit - also going to the toilet alot more often, thought it was the jalepenos but obviously not
MammyJo - it seems like everything i eat\drink sets my throat - Thank God for gaviscon.
WO - also saw the prog re: woman who kickstarted labour by using a breast pump, cousin did tell me that stimulating your nipples is supposed to start contractions - not sure if that is true or an old wives tale???
Flump - Congrats on selling your house
1B3 - your poor love - hope the itching and the soreness gets better soon, and the DTs come out soon.
Katy44 - due on the 21st, and curently i'm all lists no hospital bag! I'm with you and CD in denial! And I am definitely starting to panic a bit.
Ellie - How was your last Monday at work? Counting down the days!!!
Hiya to everyone else - have a good night.

runnyhabbit · 19/03/2007 23:25

Katy - had a little chuckle to myself when I saw your due date is 23rd. That was ds due date - but he didn't arrive til 4th May!! Tbh I was super organised for his arrival (think I packed my bag etc about month before) but have been very blase this time round. Although I'm going for homebirth, I have done a "just in case" bag too All the other stuff is still in the loft - but apparently dh knows exactly where everything is

maveta · 20/03/2007 06:27

I can´t sleep! I´ve been awake since about 6am and finally got up at 7am after dh every so subtly saying ´you can get up if you want´ i.e. piss off and stop huffing and puffing and rolling around. Humpf. I seem to be waking earlier and earlier. Why, WHY?

Only 2 more days of work this week (incl today) and 3 days next week and THAT´S IT! Yay.

WO - very cute nappy indeed, v. jealous of all the little girl clothes that are out there I have to say. So many cute things.

Well I imagine I´m talking to myself so off to read my book for a bit..

Emmymummy · 20/03/2007 07:38

Maveta - don't worry I can't sleep either. Tend to wake up at around 6am every day and then lie there willing myself to drop off again. Probably our bodies/brains getting ready for the lack of sleep to come....

Had a bit of a funny turn in the night - got up for a wee and started shivering uncontrollably. Got back into bed still shaking, then had cold sweats. Hope I'm not coming down with something .

Shitty weather here today and have got to drop off Em at school, head into town to get a birthday present for my Godson, then lunch with a friend . Have the option of going out for a meal with a bunch of mums from E's school tonight too, but not sure if I'll manage that too.

Can I ask, what are people buying their older DCs as presents from the baby? I have the brilliant big sister/little sister t-shirts from Mothercare, but need something else. Any ideas? It might just end up being a hideous Barbie fairy type DVD as at least E will love it and it will distract her for a while....

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 08:15

Morning everyone!
Thanks for all the replies, glad it's not just me. Yvie mentioned making lists - I am constantly making lists - top of the current to-do one is to make a shopping list for tomorrow
Emmymummy, how are you feeling today after your funny turn?
I'm also waking up fairly early, about 6ish, it isn't a problem at the moment as I go to bed ridiculously early, but I hope it doesn't keep getting earlier and earlier!
OK, what's the one thing I've probably forgotten to buy?
CD - I think I probably do need a lambskin (and the baby might like to have a lie on it every now and again) - will email you to ask for your address so I can send a cheque.

liath · 20/03/2007 08:16

Bladder wakes me up early too & usually don't get back to sleep. Was SO uncomfortable last night but no sweats at least - hope it's not the start of a bug, Emmymummy.

My mum & sister are coming up today with the nephews so it'll be off to soft play! Am trying to have as much social stuff planned as possible to stop the time dragging. My other sister is now 4 days overdue with her baby. Everyone goes overdue in our family so she's not too bothered....yet!

Amazing that with 2 sets of twins and few folk with previous premmie deliveries that no-ones popped yet - it's going to be babies flying out left right and centre when we all start !

octopussyintummy · 20/03/2007 08:16

Morning everyone

Crap nights sleep so quick post before school run!

Maveta - in the following order
weenotions
xs sandys x 3
ellas house bumhugger
wambamboo
lollipop bamboo
nature babies stuffable x 2
lollipop organic
lollipop microfleece
small sandys x 10

You can buy any microfibre dishcloths - they are all the same really - places like lidl sell them dirt cheap!

WO - good on you making your own wraps - the fleece ones seem particularly straighforward - and you can make wool ones out of old woollly jumper sleeves!

I am ready now - all packed, nursery ready etc - have my perenium massage oil - but yet to start and think about pelvic floor occasionally! All we need now are a mucus plug, easy contractions and a pea shelling mechanism.

Going to be late for school!

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 08:23

"it's going to be babies flying out left right and centre when we all start"
What an image! Can that be our next thread title?

Katy44 · 20/03/2007 08:24

Anyone ready for a new thread?

runnyhabbit · 20/03/2007 09:12

Morning all

Had a rubbish nights sleep too. More to do with the fact that dh didn't get home til midnight, after a 4 hour drive from Cornwall, then up at 7 with ds for nursery. Feel tired, but not tired enough to sleep iyswim. Also woke in the night with pain in my back.

emmymummy - hope you're feeling better this morning. We've bought ds the "big brother" t-shirt & card, but I've made up a box of small presents - Postman Pat rucksack, dvd, book, also small toys and a few books. I am on the look out for a "keepsake" for each of them though.

octopussyintummy · 20/03/2007 09:24

I think the new thread title should be 'Downsize me'!

Pesha · 20/03/2007 10:00

Hi all, have been lurking for last couple days but too tired or busy to post and now has been far too long for me to remember anything.

1b3 - owww at your tummy, have you asked dr for another type of cream to try?

Ds has been ill over weekend again, seems absolutely fine then gets very high temp and goes very quiet, has calpol then hour or so later is bouncing off the walls as normal till calpol wears off and temp comes back again. Only symptom is achey legs and dont know if thats just because of the temp but it does seem to be bit of a problem for him so thinking may have to take him drs jsut to check it out.
And dd has been very emotional of late (even more than normal!) and yesterday was in floods of tears when i tried to leave her at school which she has never done before and wasnt very happy today. Think it could well be alot to do with baby being nearly here and her dad turning up and now feeling bit insecure about her place in the family possibly. Off to try and find some nice books later to read with her to try and help her to open up and talk to me without me feeling like im putting words in her mouth. I dont want to ask her directly if she's worried about being left out or whatever cos if she's not then it might make her think she should be! Nothing's ever easy is it?!

And now have to make a blue flying saucer cake for dp's birthday today although its more to please the kids than him really as its their idea!

Fanko · 20/03/2007 10:00

katy, i'll remember that one for the next thread, think you're getting a bit ahead of yourself tho, we get thro enough threads without starting one at less than 200 posts

i have just spent an hour in the bath reading my book! oh how i love cbeebies

weeonion · 20/03/2007 10:12

bliss fanko - bubbles ahoy??

geordiemacminx · 20/03/2007 10:18

morning ladies...hope everyone is ok!!

feeling a bit miserable toda...lying on the sofa in my dressing gown watching jeremy kyle (ok so thats enough to make anyone depressed)

really should get motivated but its diffcult when the most exciting thing on my list of things to do is clean the windows...

sorry for the moan.. hope little one comes soon..cant be doing with this for another 7 or 8 weeks...

Eddas · 20/03/2007 10:21

Ok, i can't remeber anythign except:
Fanko, i've got to get 2 new front tyres today too, bloody cars, cost a fortune!! and an hour in the bath with ds around!! I too love cbeebies, got big cock little cock on as dd used to call it!!! totally inocent but didn't feel the need to correct, thought it was appropriate

1b3, ouch at the tummy. Mine was very itchy at one point but nothing like that.

That's it, all gone now!!!

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 20/03/2007 10:22

Morning all.

How are we today?

All ok here. Sore armpit seems to feel a bit better thank God - so sore yesterday.

Emmy, I had the shivers one night about 2 weeks before gave birth to Becky - so could be a sign!?

Sorry to those who have had crap nights. I did ok last night. B was back in knickers and was DRY and I didn't get up for a wee either. Also waking though at 6.00 ish which is a pain, but when the sun is shining I don't mind too much.

Pesha, sorry to hear your dc's are a bit poorly/emotional at the mo. I often wonder if B's behaviour has anything to do with the imminent arrival. I don't want to sweep it under the rug, but sometimes I wonder if she thinks, "ffs everyone, stop talking about the baby".

Day 2 of mat leave and B at preschool all day again and am loving it! Lots to do though, so need to crack on.

Oh, one thing I have bought for hospital bag is that dry shampoo (think it is called Batiste). I can't bear my hair feeling greasy, and may also not be up to having a shower as sson as I would like.

See you lovely ladies later on. xx

Sexonslightlypuffylegs · 20/03/2007 10:23

Eddas, pmsl at Big Cock, little Cock! Classic, and as you say, most apt!

Fanko · 20/03/2007 10:25

to be fair to my little car, i have had it since may last year and it only cost £40 A YEAR to tax it, and this is the 1st set of tyres it's needed. just not the best timing!

Fanko · 20/03/2007 10:25

and how would you ladies know it's most apt?

doghouse · 20/03/2007 10:26

Hi everyone
{hugs} to those feeling down (GMM), hope you are feeling better soon.
I've got really itchy all of a sudden too .. worse in the evenings (oh, and hairy too)! The glamour heh? At least we are on the home straight now!
I had a lovely lunch with my NCT group yesterday (as 8 heavily pg women, we did get some funny looks though!) .. thank you so much to whoever it was (CD I think) who recommended the NCT route, it has made such a difference to me being new to this area.
Am starting some batch cooking today in preparation for times when we are too tired to cook etc.
Cannot even THINK about perineal massage let alone do it!
xx

weeonion · 20/03/2007 10:28

gmm - indulge yourself for today. maybe we coudl meet up next week for a mooch round in glasgow? i have made teh mistake of now booking in people to see everyday this week but what about next wednesday??
